In the manualfrom ASUS is mentioned on page 90 that NVMe is only supported on Slot2 for the M2.2280, which is above the HDD cage on the right side of main board. The left side slot you used for the upgrade is Slot1, which is M2 SATA only.

He mention to me that he can´t manage to install this kind of m2 reference on his laptop due compatibility issues, looks like the the Laptop doesn't allow to install more than 280gb of m2 disk, according to him and his technician so they have to install a common SSD. What you can tell me about this, I can´t found nothing related to that on internet... You answer would me much appreciate. Many thanks!
Hello, if you have a M.2 PCIe slot, which you should, any size should work great. The 970 pro is a fast good nvme drive. I have done a couple upgrades like the model in the video, with no issues. 1TB nvme 2280. Some older models may have bios limits. Updating bios may allow for larger capacity. I have yet to encounter issues using 1TB nvme pcie. Even in low end computers.

@@cocatezz you can buy an external hard drive case and then copy your old drive directly onto the new one. no need to re install windows, but you will need to download some free software first.
Hi, I believe Razer has external PCI-E enclosures for desktop graphics cards. They may require a Thunderbolt 3 port though. Its somewhere to start looking. Thx, Dale
hey i got a question ... need to know bios settings after NVME install as i did this (with the same laptop) and it cold boots fine .... but upon restart it hangs at ROG logo ... only on restart .. if cold boot it comes right up ... im missing something small but cant figure it out ... ant help would be much appreciated
Hi. This could be a window settings. I've seen this before. Open up legacy control panel, click power options, in left pane click choose what power button does, now, towards the top, click on change settings that are currently unavailable. After doing that you'll see below, under shutdown settings, uncheck box that says turn on fast startup. This is not really needed with new ssd drives anyways. Hope this helps. Oh, make sure to save changes. Dale

I installed sata ssd, and it had nvme, I installed 16 GB crucial 2400mhz 16gb ram to the 8gb! And my lqptop wont turn on! It has a black screen and the vent is Work!! I try to részt the BIOS with cmos battery off, and i take off the battery too! But my laptop wont work

I have a GL702V, manual says the same and there is a graphic showing those 2 M.2 drives BUT actually there is only one M.2 drive at the left..

Besides the black fan, there are two other fans as you mentioned. The bigger one is for gpu and the smaller one is for the cpu

I definitely slid that clip out too far when replacing the batter and made a pretty big light show! Still all works though.

Hmmm. Does your bios have option for fast startup? If so, try disabling it. If all else, try bios update.
Also, make sure graphics drivers are up to date, or reinstall them. Do you have any external devices plugged into it?

Sometimes when you add new ram, it can take long time to post first time. Turn it on and wait a couple minutes to see if it will post.
