  • Easily the smallest folding electric bike when folded, the ‪@bromptonbicycle‬ C Line Electric is based on the British brand's 'known-the-world-over' traditional folding bike. Available to purchase in a variety of build options (frame colour, gears and handlebar type are the main variables), in this video review we look at the key features of this popular electric bike.

Hello, I congratulate you for the video, I have not seen a better explained video, it has been very easy to understand and in great detail.
I am thinking of buying an electric brompton bicycle, my only doubt has been in the assistance levels that do not have them on the handlebars, I would have to stop the bicycle to level up. In my city we are flat and in a curve we go up a slope.
I was also interested in the tern vektron s10 and it meets all my expectations, the only thing is that it weighs more than the Brompton, which of the 2 is the most interesting in your opinion, greetings 😊👍☘️

Hi thanks you for your kind comments , the tern Vektron is much heavier nearly twice the weight. Please check out this video th-cam.com/video/mxpYyn_E_cM/w-d-xo.html

@@jcpups Hello, thanks for the prompt response, I live in the Canary Islands, here we have flat areas but we also have slopes, that's why I need an electric bicycle, I love the Brompton, it's the perfect bicycle for me.
I have a bicycle right now that is electric, foldable and it works very well for me, but it has the drawback that it is heavy. The only drawback that I see with the Brompton is the control of the assistance modes is not on the handlebar, but I will try it in Madrid or Barcelona. Thank you very much for inviting me to visit your store, you are very kind, I will keep it in mind if I travel to your city, greetings and Merry Christmas, hope everything goes very well for you 😊🎄☘️

    Excellent Commuter Electric bicycle.
These foldable electric cycles are used in combination with public transport.
Let me explain. Have you heard of the GO train service in Canada? Well, suppose you live 5 miles away from the nearest Go train station 🚉. And your workplace is in the downtown of the nearby city. You can ride this bike to the station, fold it up, board the train, (maybe the train conductors will charge you something extra as luggage charges for the bike if it exceeds a certain weight limit, who knows), get off the train downtown and open up your bike, and cruise on it to the workplace or your kid's school. And then put it in your cabin at the work place and even charge it, and repeat the same on your return trip home. You can also pick up your kid or wife on it. Instead of going on the car every day the whole way.
Mostly these bikes are made for such long commute scenarios.
You can also use these kinds of bikes on weekend trips to where there is bus or train service; but there is no last mile connectivity available.

we see a lot of full-size electric bikes zipping around without the rider ever turning a pedal, seemingly over substantial distances. does the Brompton's motor allows for that or is the system such that the human needs to contribute continuously? if the bike can ride on its own 'steam', what kind of range are we talking about?

    • @VelorutionLondon
      @VelorutionLondon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

An interesting point you've raised. A bike that requires no pedal assistance is actually considered in law as a motorised vehicle, and thus requires a driving licence, tax, insurance and a number plate... The Brompton being a brilliant folding electric eBike will require you to pedal. It has a range of anything up to 50miles and is fully legal in the UK. Hope this helps

Anything up to 50 miles, depends on a few factors such as terrain and assistance level, but on the whole as a commuter bike you should only really need to charge the battery once or twice a week.

This model is with a, "Very Heavy Telescope Post", which I suppose isn't a standard? My Scandinavian sold, 2019 Brompton had a 600 mm post by delivery, and for now I use a black, "standard length", titanium seat post of 535 mm for trial, which is too short for my 184 cm I admit, but I manage, as it is now "fully foldable", opposite the long model post!
And I suppose that Brompton still haven't, well hardly done anything against severe scratches on the frames paint during handling? Mine had, some ridiculous, small round pieces of clear tape, which only told: "After that many years of Brompton production, we do know where it hurts, but We have decided to do - absolutely nothing about it"!!
As a nearly first I gave my - new bike a full Autowax-polish, so I found out that one of those, "tapes" had nearly been worn through to the paint, after only two folds!!! Finn. Denmark 😀

@@VelorutionLondon My flamepainted "lightweightM6LX" is from 2019 and with some modifications, it now weighs 9,35 kilo and still with room for being made even lighter! The metal-plates on my mudguards (with original titanium stays!) are made from really "Heavy Metal" so I have found some Chinese made, carbon replacements, with bolts, to be fixed when Summer comes, if ever?
And I use a titanium seat post + some special minor parts, also from titanium, which I use for now. As a 100 kilo man it doesn't matter that much, but just for the fun of it. Finn. Denmark

If you are tall you use the telescopic seat post for the standard post you set your height then cut and fit the insert to suit so you then just pull the seat up to make and all is fine and dandy.

3:13 this is not true. It has 3 power settings. And as soon as you start pedaling it gives you the full power at that setting. I don't even think its a torque sensor, it behaves like and rpm sensor.

@@Morgzy I don't think you read the whole comment, I said what if I've got a bag or some other setup on the back for that particular trip and don't want to fold it?
And I know you can do that half fold thing to keep it from falling over, it's still worse than having a kick stand. It just takes fewer steps to deploy a kick stand than to lift and half fold the bike.
Why does a bike that costs thousands lack a feature that every 100$ wall mart bike has?

I've been riding this bike for about a month th-cam.com/users/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
