From what I understand....(but not really sure)....clients will be the one to pick the hardware they want to use in their Salad Cloud AI service. Coz in the website there is a pricing on how much you will spend per GPU, CPU cores or RAM u will use for your Salad Cloud Service.
I am doing quite well on my 3090 when it gets jobs. I also also have 64gb ddr5 in my system.

Have you noticed if you make more with the gpu mining off or make less?.. ive got a x99 mobo with xeon ..... something lol 12 core v4 whatever it is, 64gb ram and a 3060 12gb... Haven't shown to make a projected $1 a day yet... But pulling 400w consistently...so at my per kwh i need $2 a day to make it worthwhile ..
I'm an ex miner too, but I am 100% sure that all miners getting into ai rentals are going to saturate the market with too much demand, making it unprofitable

Yep, that's exactly what's happening. Currently, we have so many Salad users but not enough workloads to go around.
Yes, but the difference between AI rentals and crypto mining is that Crypto mining you can just have multiple GPUs running, no need to buy 1 motherboard, 1 CPU, or a few ram sticks or ssds for every GPU. Basicly you don't need 1 entire PC for every GPU. But for AI rentals, atleast for Salad, you need an entire PC per GPU. You cannot put 2 GPUs into 1 PC. Salad will only utilize the GPU in the PCIE slot closest to the CPU. So it increases the startup cost. However, we already saw in 2021 that miners were willing to pay up to 3X the original price of a GPU. Sometimes costed even more than the rest of the PC combined. So yeah, miners might actually start doing that

2xrigs. 1. x399 mb w/ treadripper 1620x 12 core/ 48 gb ddr4, w 2 x evga 3070, 2nd rig. B550 w/ AMD 5900x 12 core, 32 gb ddr4, and 1x evga 3070.
Still thinking about my next one, but don't know what gpu to use, 3080ti or 4070... this is what I got left so no idea what to use, will maybe try both and see.
I'm just not super sure....but TI cards have much more rent price than the usual GPU cards. Coz I notice that the 4070 TI rent is only a few less compared to the 4090 card. If u have the money to buy 4070 Ti...I would prefer u buy that. Some clients are more focus on the 40 series right now

Shit salad keeps degradeing my 4070 gpu says the 12gb does not have enough vram lol. My setup is a 10850k with 64gb ram and all salds likes to do is degrade my gpu by saying not enough vram. Maybe i should put my 1070 on there instead lol. I also have tried the drivers for the 4070 from oldest to newest and still no luck.😅

You're into tossing this salad thing eh? I took the plunge...shoulda made a video. I need to do one take videos to stop all this stupid editing that takes 5 times longer than the video! But I took a Ryzen 5 1600, a RTX A4000, threw a 1tb nvme and 32gb of RAM and just got it up and running. I hope I get some extra ranch with my salad.
