If you're burning 500 watts, which is unlikely with container loads, then yeah that would eat most of your profit.

Hi Brandon! On your salad rigs are you using ethernet cable or just wifi sticks to connect to the internet? If so, any difference regarding the jobs? 😊
He use ethernet cable the difference is that you lose some mbps from the usb stick and if you're much further than the router you lose again some bandwidth

@@manssgr9342 Ok, yea makes sense. But in terms of the jobs/containers that we get when going with salad, does any kind of connection issues cause us to lose the job/container we are currently on? Im wondering if there is any like "grace"-period if, lets say, I get a quick disconnect and connect again either from the router or like a wifi-stick? Hope this makes any sense :D im just in the planning of either getting a couple of wifi-sticks do run a few rigs on salad with, or see if I can manage to get some cables sorted.

I have a 3060 12gb, 1070k, 32gb and yet to get a job after many hours. Had a 3070 on there prior and nothing. Not sure what is wrong. 1000/50 internet connection. Edit: I did a clean install of W11 and it is now showing income. Would 64gb ram help with a 3060 or is it a waste. If not a waste I can slap it on my spare X99/Xeon board.
NVIDIA Drivers 552.22 and 552.44 are recommended by Salad. If small jobs show up ($0.05 -$0.10, or the like), mining was not turned off in settings or Salad is working on loading a container. You can check if a container is loading by checking Task Manager. Go to Processes and select the Memory tab and check for what is using the most memory. If VmemWSL is present, then a container job is being loaded/processed. If not, look for Salad.Bowl.Service and end task. Watch task manager to see if VmemWSL shows in memory usage. Rinse and repeat until it does. After you see VmemWSL, leave it alone, it will eventually load and work on a container.

Be careful with your power draw on those cheap MBs. IDK about salad but when I was CPU mining, those old Xeons were more efficient with HT turned off and didn't get the VRM mosfets hot enough to boil water. HT is all but dead anyway. It was great back when silicon yields were worse and nobody had thought up the big.LITTLE concept yet. But these days, it is time to set HT aside and focus on real cores. Drawing air through a heatsink like that is exceptionally inefficient. It is sucking air from the side and you're maybe actually using about a quarter of the finstack area. This AI boom definitely will bust because people are getting too eager and totally over-promising what the technology can do (FSD Next Year!...Stonks!), just like with the last crypto boom (and bust). But at least you're using some of your hardware to do something more useful than crypto. But you've definitely got the right idea with your store. Would say that's your real business these days.
