    I have a question..
    How acid value can be for 1gm of oil if we are taking w grams of oil sample please answer in detail ....thank you

      Many thanks for watching the video.
      Acid value is "expressed" for 1 gm of oil sample.
      In the formula since we are dividing with the wt of oil taken. Therefore, the result will be for per gm of oil.
      This is analogous to price per sq ft area or RBC or WBC cells per cumm of blood.
      In cell counting experiment we take 1 or 2 drops of blood and dilute with solvent and then represent the readings as per cumm of blood.

    Why not 0.1 M Naoh is used?

      Acid value is one of the pharmacopeia standard test accepted across the globe. The standard values are expressed wrt KOH. Nothing wrong in using NaOH. Since, all the literature values are expressed using KOH, so comparison of the obtained results with literature becomes convenient.
