Its terrible how this works, and autoimmune conditions haven't been studied enough. It's still an enigma, Multiple sclerosis, Scleroderma, myositis, myasthenia gravis, lupus, etc. Patients are commonly discard and sent to psychiatrist and they're being incorrectly diagnosed with fibromyalgia when doctors don't understand their symptoms. 😢
So very true; it's disturbing, disgusting and a shame. Many family members were victims. Causes enormous physical and mental anguish for patient and family
That's so true . My whole family is a family of doctors, and nobody really understands or has anything to offer for my autoimmunity. Its very frustrating
@@sumansiddiqui1417 We should organize an international organization of patients to create consciousness and more interest and better treatments and hopefully one day a cure. For instance Scleroderma is the most fatal and terribly cruel of all the rheumatologic conditions, and there's no medication that's direct to treat this condition. The patients (attacking both sexes both mainly women) are suffering tremendously for the horrible symptoms like the tightening of the skin. Only few can get access to more aggressive treatments that help them and sometimes cure them. They can have more medical conditions at the same time, like with lupus, multiple sclerosis, etc.. I'd like pharmaceuticals take autoimmune conditions more seriously..
I do not agree. Tremendous progress has been made towards the understanding of and effective treatments for autoimmune diseases. Look up PubMed and you will see very very promising data (such as using CAR T cells) on treating autoimmune patients. Big things are coming up (and large-scale clinical trials take time) for sure!
2:08 In these time she said the immunity system response have receptors that differentiate one pathogen from another called( antigens ) But after that she said • Adaptive immunity is also diverse, meaning it can recognize almost an infinite number of specific antigens and mount a specific response against each of them. My question is antigens it mean a receptors that distinguish between pathogen from another ?or no antigens it mean are molecules or substances that are recognized by the immune system as foreign or other molecules found on the surface of pathogens
Antigens are basically protein molecules, generally on the surface of any cell.. Both innate immunity and Adaptive immunity can differentiate between self and non self (foreign).. (you will get autoimmune disorder when they lose this property..).. But innate cells don't have specific response.. they have genetically encoded capability to detect some molecules (which you can call antigens for simplicity) called Pathogen Associated Molecular Pattern.. for example.. they can detect Flagellin protein (antigen) which is founded in all flagellar microorganisms.. once detected to be foreign.. they will jump into action like explained in video.. Adaptive immunity on other hand.. will cast immune response against specific antigen presented to them via APCs.. I hope this cleared your doubt?
@@jaydevkher9892 I am very grateful for your answer. Yes, your words were very clear. I actually meant your idea, and I understood the antigen issue in the same way. But what raised my doubts was some contradiction at the beginning of the video. I don’t know. Most likely there was confusion with the information, but in general, yes. Thank you very much.
Very well explained! Actually, the best video on basics of immunology.
Wow, thanks! 💕
I have learnt a lot
The level of detail I needed !! Thanks for the help ❤
Most welcome 😊
Indeed a beautiful way of presenting such a complex and intertwined topic 👏👏👏 Definitely Love this Channel for creative simplicity ✨❤❤
Glad you enjoy it! 💖

My mom suffered for years with an autoimmune problem that the dumbass Drs thought she was crazy for just because they're idiots
