  • Episode 2: I head to Redhead/Blacksmiths Beach for a quick getaway after work on a Friday. I test out the Jimny on the beach for the first time and get to use my new awning (yes, I got rid of my tarp).

    I bought a Jim literally for camping on the beach because it had to be a daily driver and I can't afford a big ass 4x4 so the jimm is perfect for me

    You will get better as you progress to professional u tuber. I enjoy my jimny a lot . A 40 mm lift kit will make your jimny awesome. Also add a steering damper. Keep up your videos.👍

      Thanks Zook. Life unfortunately gets in the way sometimes, but it really is good fun, and I agree the old girl needs a lift - soon though.

      About to install a 50mm lift kit didn’t come with a dampener are they needed for such a slight lift
      I had a 4 inch (100mm) spring lift on my 60 series and it had a dampener but no idea with coils are they needed with 50mm

      Greetings Adrian! The Jimny is a fantastic little platform and you have some beautiful country over there, so a great place for it.

    Que hermosos son los jimnys. Y ese lugar de campamento debe ser asombroso. Una pregunta, a donde va al baño?

      The Jimny is really a great little car. As for the bathroom situation - my overnight trips are fairly short and a bathroom is normally not too far away (or I use toilets at the camp if they have). If I'm away multiple nights and know there won't be facilities, I take along a portable chemical toilet. Happy camping!
      (Espero que esto se traduzca bien)

    great place and great view, one question if u may, have u had any troubles with the traction control on the jimny every time i go in the deep sand traction control and abs stops me from pushing myself out of it, any idea how can i solve this problem

    • @ImpalaOverland
      @ImpalaOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mimic, my Jimny didn't have traction control, but I have driven a few cars fitted with traction control in the sand. My general approach is to put it all off. The sand messes with these systems and just bogs you down.

    Awesome video. Interested to know what those tyre pressure accessories are called + where you got them from?
    Also, what gears and range do you approach the soft entry/exit sand roads in? (Eg. High range gear 2? Or Low range?) Interested as I'm about to hit the beach this Christmas. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂

      Thanks for watching! If you are based in Australia, you can get the deflators from Supercheap Auto (Staun Deflators). I set mine just above 20psi for the Jimny and generally stick to 1st gear high range on the sand. My biggest tip for sand driving is to get your tyre pressures right - you can tell you've got it when your car coasts to a stop with your foot on the clutch. If your pressure is too high you'll struggle to get moving and the car will tend to jerk to a stop as soon as you ease off the throttle. Enjoy your trip!

      The look like knock off stauns
      Blacksmiths is my local (has the softest sand in Australia) my 60 series went all the way down to 8psi yet to take my jimny on the beach yet but I’ll be on 15psi then see how it goes from there

      Hey Benjamin, Blacksmiths is about 30 minutes for me. Sadly the Jimny has moved onto a new home so for now I'll be using the cruiser for my trips.
