    The 530i is decently quick and in current form is as large as older 7-series cars yet is EPA rated at 27 city / 35 hwy. Impressive mileage, performance, and comfort for a small displacement 4 cylinder

    The 5 series is no longer a E segment car, it's a F segment. It's getting to large, it's basically a 7 series in size. (Yes, I know a 7 series to day is the size of a Crown Vic)

    • @AGZF1983

      Actually the G70 7 series and s klasse are both bigger than the ford crown Victoria. This G60 5 series is the same length as the e65 7 series.

    Bro the m5 is going to look even more insane. I love the old deisgn and the new one! New one was more classy this is more like a big bulky BMW muscle car. Things a tank. Also 3.7 sec 0-60 isnt the case as usual with bmw cars. Ive seen it do 3.3

Even the m850i is faster than the Mercedes s53 amg coupe 3.7 seconds to 60 for the m850i vs 4.8 seconds to 60 for the s53 amg coupe. Plus they’re both comfortable gran tourers.

    I like the design, personally! Stands out for sure. Haters will hate regardless. I reviewed the i5 M60, and it's a phenomenal driving car. Handles like a sports car and rides like a 7-series. Can't wait to drive the 540i/550e. I am not an EV fan, but the i5 is definitely my favorite EV thus far.

    Taycan as a weekender Turo rental was fun. Then every time i get on a Pestlas, it ruins the vibe and makes me hate Bevs.
    Rode shotty on a Turo i4 and it was really nice at night. Overall dull...
    Coming from an all bimmer garage. The iX50 & M60 is probably the only bev i thought about seriously signing for.
    Soulless, but it felt special enough especially the M60. Tayca was special too, but that price for mediocre range. Just get a 911 S
    Give us the gassers! No to bevs 🙅🏻‍♂

    Gas or electric, this car is ugly.
    It looks both geriatric yet poser-ishly modern and avant garde at the exact same time. All the fussy bending lines, bumps and creases, with proportion that are completely out of whack, it's just a mess. To think, this is the same company that made such elegantly sporty luxury cars like the E39. What the hell happened...

    Great job on the review.
    30 minutes charge is good but in the gas version it would be 5 minutes for a fiil up & be miles down the road.
    $80,000 for that is crazy. They tried batteries before & it failed, and I will guarantee it's gonna fail again.

    What's the point to have lot's of horsepower on electric cars? It is useless. Unfortunately the rannge of electric cars are very low, tbey are way more expensive than the petrol/diesel cars, and more heavier. A lot of time to wait to charge, not ideal for long trips. So there are no advantages for electric cars.

  • @videowsatcher
    @videowsatcher 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Absolutely fugly. The interior looks worse than the E39 in terms of look and feel from 20-25 years ago! The trunk doesn't even have gas struts like the E39. The general design change BMW has started to go through and, the even longer term loss of soul (no longer the ultimate driving machine that perfectly balanced comfort handling) has meant they have lost a devout supporter; BMWs formed a key part of my childhood and youth from the street to the track. The rest of the family have admitted they are moving towards being with Mercedes as opposed to being with BMW given where the design of BMW is going and it missing something that they can't put their finger on

    the ppl in the comments section are clearly not the target demographic. we the wealthy realize EVs for our work and lunch meetings is so incredibly nice and the convenience of not wasting more time on maint/fill ups makes us more wealthy....

      I do not agree. A 911 rear wheel give meaning to a hectic schedule...another way of escape with an appreciable level of risk and most importantly, control. Let the wife have her EV, and let the boys have their toys.

    "Free charging" being doled out by these non-domestic manufactures is killing the charging infrastructure- incentivizing people to use a "free charger" instead of charging at home is a horrible idea.

  • @HoneyBadgerFarm

    Also just a side note...BMW has destroyed a huge amount of prime farming land in Woodruff, SC to build a battery plant....cut down hundreds of trees and are using diesel construction equipment to move the dirt and build the plant. Go Green!

      We will see if it’s a fad, EVs work much better for many use cases than an ICE car. The opposite could be said for a few use cases as well but we are less than 2 decades into mass produced EVs, we may hit price parity and 500 miles of range by 2030.

    No EV for me…

  • @stumbledotcom
    @stumbledotcom 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’ve considered myself a car enthusiast since the mid 70s, several years before I even had a license. Worshiped at the altar of the European sports car/sedan as evangelized by R&T and C&D. My first new car purchase was a 1983 VW Rabbit GTI. If I ran things, no one could get a license without knowing how to work a clutch and manual gearbox, trucks would be for work only, and crossovers wouldn’t exist.
    But even with my background, I’ve fully embraced the idea that the BMW E90 I bought new in 2009 and still use for high speed, long range duties is the last ICE vehicle I’ll buy. My daily driver since 2014 has been an EV. Two leased and now a third purchased i3. I love it because it’s so weird but perfectly engineered for its city car mission. Look no further than the chassis that’s largely carbon fiber and aluminum. It makes the i3 several hundred pounds lighter than the base 530i here. And even a decade on, the i3 interior design remains unequaled. In comparison, the i5 strikes me as several steps backwards.
    All of which is a long way of saying I have zero interest in any car that’s on a converted ICE platform. We’ll see if the 2025 Neue Klasse sedan is convincing enough to make me part with my E90.
