Yes! I loved the ending. It was so unexpected yet perfect. Like, it showed that after all this time, despite everything that happened to her, she could still love.
didn’t really make sense with her character though. Winnie has always been selfish and wanted to be all powerful, so this was just another lame attempt at Disney trying to make people sympathize with a villain and make them have a heart deep down… didn’t care for it. It felt way too forced.
I was 4 when I first watched it the night it came on tv with my mother she passed away in may my daughter is 4 and watched it with me so you know the ending had me balling my eyes out so many memories with my mother was made and I know it’ll be a memory my daughter will always remember as well
Agreed! Hocus Pocus will always and forever be one of my favorite Halloween movies! It never gets old! I've seen the first one so many times I know every word by heart!
They did this right by getting so much input from Bette, Kathy, and SJP. Plus so much unanswered questions in plot that were brought to light like their origin stories. There isn't many fans who didn't wonder where they came from, other than the original throwback as adults.
I'm so glad they never deleted this masterpiece I love Hocus Pocus I've watched it since I was 6. The new movie of Hocus Pocus is good too I laughed so hard at some of the scenes. But other than that, nothing was bad about the movie. So, it just comes to me saying love it!
Went to a Hocus Pocus party last night! It was outside and it was on a big screen. Great time, GREAT MOVIE! I will watch the first one and then the second one in Halloween! ❤️🎉🎊
I feel Winnifred's redemption at the end was amazing because she realized that power meant nothing without her sisters. No matter how much they fought Winnifred realized her sisters were more important. The backstory proved this. All she wanted was to protect her family and not be separated from them. Unfortunately the power got to her head for a while and her ego got the best of her. She thought killing the Mayor who was apparently the descendant of the guy in the beginning who tried to separate her sisters. Wouldn't you do whatever you can to protect your family? Even if it meant diving into the dark arts? Winnifred's Redemption did feel a bit quickly forced in my opinion. Since Disney has a mood for trilogies it would've been cool to leave it on a cliffhanger and in the 3rd film Winnifred realizes that she can't live without her coven and goes to find her sisters. It's like Disney realized they were running out of time to make it in the time slot and hurried it.
I can't understand how someone cannot love this movie. I saw the first one in the theatre. This movie is truly hilarious. I love the scene when they go into the Walgreens with the sliding doors. So much fun. These women are truly gifted.
Because they took away the threat. The witches aren't bad because women have to be sympathetic these days and as per Disney, all the men have to be dumb.
People don’t like it because all of the lure and dark sinister elements of the original were completely stripped out of it and replaced with humor for grade school children. The writing was dreadful And not even the three main actresses could save it. I don’t understand how anyone could watch the original and think this was a reasonable follow up in any manner. The musical numbers were absolutely atrocious especially the first one which was so random. They lacked the vigor in the songs and it felt more like it should’ve been in high school musical rather than hocus-pocus. At least in the first one she got an idea of what the song was about from the person singing before her this one she just somehow knows this modern song. The plot was a mess and if finding this guy was so important don’t you think they would’ve mentioned it at least once in the first film? They had all the material to make a true sequel and follow up but instead the humanized the witches and made them sad and boring. Even though they were evil in the original you were kind of rooting for them.
I absolutely loved it ❤ a little tame and campy, but it was wonderful. The ending was perfect, brought a tear to my eye. So sweet! This is a perfect movie for kids Halloween parties, no unnecessary gore, just fun. Bette, Kathy and Jessica looked great, the music was great and the backstory was well written. 👍🏽
The second movie was 🔥 any other opinion ya just hating. It can’t be what it was 30 years ago but they did a hell of a job and I smiled the whole way through! ♥️ This 90s baby APPROVES!
My favorite character is the blonde girl I forgot her name but the way she sings the song in the first movie I just love it The song that I mean is this song that Lewers the children 😊
All hoccus poccus characters and new character will sticks to our hearth never replace this 3 witches will be in our hearth and be a part of our movie history that witches being funny and they can sing its a legend we wait disney made a doll for this three witches in toyrus with the disney princess characters its fun
The best movies the Sanderson Sisters are in and the first and second one are my favorite 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️🔥💞 and I hope they do a 3rd one with them in it that would be so cool!! ❤
I was watching it all day to see if I could watch it, the second I could watch it I clicked that video faster than Winnie slaps Sarah. It was a great movie
I love these 2 parts 1 the one that Winy said Wait what was Her name again and Sarah says Edward it’s Edward (they were talking about becca) and 2 when winy said spread out! And Sarah went in a straddle to spread out😂😂❤😂❤😂❤
i am a big fan of the movies when i was youngr i loved the first one y'kno before CellPhones, tik tok facebook etc i had it on Vhs for those of you that or most likely not even thought of it was a Video Casette Tape and you put it into a VCR i wore that tape out ooooooooo did i lmao but i made a vow that every yr in October {i love this time of yr} i'd watch it and i am watching part 2 rightnow it's funny and wonderful i love that they waited 29 yrs and still look like they did in 93' ty Bette, Sarah and Kathy for reprising your roles for a new generation of new fans and children {just don't eat them kathy lmaoooooo} a very god bless from new jersey...
I remember watching hocus pocus when I was 4 and my older cousins put it on for Halloween. I was so scared I cried thinking they would come and eat me LOL
completely random but last year in my neighborhood ( wondering if they'll do it again because of hocus pocus 2? ) for Halloween these three ladies dressed as the sanderson sisters and acted as them! it was quite fun. ps: i was coraline that year.
‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Brings the Witches and Magic Back to the Halloween Season. Hocus Pocus was not a box office success by any means, it became a Halloween cult classic and left an indelible mark on a generation. Hocus Pocus 2 manages to recapture the magic without sacrificing the integrity of the story that came before or jeopardizing the future of the newly minted franchise. As thrilling as it is to see the Sanderson Sisters reunited, the film’s strength lies within the performances of the incoming cast: Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo), and Cassie Traske (Lilia Buckingham).
Fun fact: The first movie came out when I was born :D Also, I'm fairly certain that Billy inspired Captain jack Sparrow, since their movements and behaviour are pretty similar :D Seriously though, I'm extremely grateful for all the love, care and passion they put into this, this is genuinely my favourite movie and it means the world to me that they really took the time to do it properly :D
Have always been in love with hocus pocus and carry on this tradition with my kids. But was disappointed with hocus pocus 2 solely because disney made it like a disney channel low budget show. Although, what made it bearable was the acting was amazing by teenage main characters and the original witches!!! Disney had low budget background for woods scenes and the old Salem village which took away the creepy trill that kids love about the original. In that the original always had a almost historical feel to the film, while #2 was solely commercial and sad. Disney- while the actors did amazing, you made this #2 look cheap and like your day to a day disney jr channel shows. Very sad effort wasnt made by disney, as this is one of best halloween family movies of all time. After several decades of waiting was not movie quality, and only felt like a bad disney TV special. The actors were only thing that made movie, you made a family fun scare into just, a hooky or corney over simplified attempt. With no real feeling to the movie and the overly comedic peices with mayor and magic job made it loose its magic😥
Simply an awful Disney remake. Lacking the characters essence, too campy, weak storyline with some parts where it has ruined the original such as they get the book from the devil himself etc. I’ve watched way better kids films. I’ll stick to the original, which is a shame. Overall, the hype for this sequel was from people approaching 40, not the kids.
I LOVED THE MOVIE❤❤❤!!!!!
I haven't seen the first one
Man. When
I saw the trailer. I shed many tears of enjoyment because my favorite movie has come back with a sequel
The movie was the best. And funny aswell
Me too
Same
My opinion - the end was very beautiful, sad but beautiful. The love for the sisters made Winifred a human for a sec.
Yes! I loved the ending. It was so unexpected yet perfect. Like, it showed that after all this time, despite everything that happened to her, she could still love.

There will be a 3rd movie, there’s another black flame candle
My husband watched the first one when he was 5. Our son watched the second one when he was 5. Felt like a full circle moment.

It’s been 30 years right down to the day. Now the witch’s are back and there’s hell to pay 👹.

I'm sry I disagree why does she get redemption? They murdered children for repeats sake. Even tried killing a teenage boy
How do you become witches
I loved the movie. The back story was great an references was spot on. An after the end credits will there be a 3rd movie who knows.
Yesss i thought the same… hopefully there is a third one for the new witches
