December 1963: JFK had been assassinated a couple of weeks before; The Beatles were about to invade America in a few weeks; there were frozen red apples on the winter Spokane trees; the Salvation Army had just delivered a wonderful Christmas basket to my family; and I saw _The Wizard of Oz_ on TV for the first time. Oh what a month for this young kid. 😊
I was 8 years old and President Kennedy's funeral had been on my birthday in November. As a young kid I will never forget the contrast of a birthday cake on the table and my dad crying in the other room watching the funeral procession.
Wow, that is just a fantastic image, as well as the other comments in here. I was 15 months old when Kennedy was assassinated and my mom considered going to Dallas for it, but with an infant and it looked like it might storm, she decided to play it safe and not go. I have always thought that if I went, I could go through some sort of regression hypnosis and actually access really early memories, and see what happened and complete the Warren Commission report, lol.
The Four Seasons have a huge catalog! Now you need to hear some of their 60’s songs with Frankie and his perfect & incredible falsetto! “Sherry” .. “Big girls don’t cry” .. “Walk like a man” .. “Opus 17” .. “Dawn” .. “Rag Doll” .. “Candy Girl”…. “Let’s hang on” .. this is just a few! Thanks Shawn!!!!! 😀
The Drummer who sang the lead to start this song was Gerry Polci, one of the 4 Seasons .. Franki Valli was in the blue shirt and sitting on the stool, the song was written by Bob Gaudio, one of the original 4 seasons
💖💖💖 Love Frankie Valli! One of my favorites. Love "My Eyes Adored You", "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Grease", "Who Loves You?", "Rag Doll" and "Walk Like A Man".
As a side note, the song was re-mixed and re-released in 1993 and became a hit all over again, hitting #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 (the original 1975 version hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100). The remix is worth checking out.. Ben Liebrand did a great job remixing the song.
The early sixties were a sweet, innocent time before the Beatles exploded on the scene in 1964. Frankie Valli, The Everly Brothers, The Righteous Brothers, early Motown. Innocence and Sweetness. The movie AMERICAN GRAFFITI captured the flavor of the era perfectly.
My dad bought his first record by them called Rag Doll he's gone but every time I hear it it makes me think of him but of course he liked a lot of their songs
I never noticed ‘til watching the video with you how little Frankie Valli sings in this song. This and "Who Loves You" were two of my favorite radio songs in 7th grade (‘75/‘76)
Wow, that was so young when this was out but it definitely brings back a lot of memories and even though I thought it was slightly on the cheesy side at the time, listening to it right now I just got a really happy feeling and it made me kind of want to rock out to it, lol.
wow im a big pau from TW fan and its good to see the other few singing drummer that sounded so good back in the day, very good reaction and thank you for sharing!
So, you probably figured out that this is not the original recording or the original band -- this is Frankie Vallie as an old man pitching in a bit as other people sing his song. This might have been a promotional bit for the musical Jersey Boys, or something similar. You should really check out the actual Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons version.
1963. I was only 3. Frankie and the gang had a hit as recent as the late 1970s with their theme song for the movie GREASE that got lots of radio time. ("Grease is the word, is the word that you heard..." I was in high school at the time. "Sherry" is the monster Four Seasons song I usually think of when I hear their name.
Man, do I love this song! I was only a kid when it came out, but I have loved it ever since. Of course, as a kid at the time, I thought this song was about Christmas - talking about late December and all. It would be quite a while before I was like "Oooooohhh, it's about that".
Another great from Valli and group. To me..nothing but fantastic hit after hit. Reaction, again Shawn, fabulous. Keep that new seat dancin' movin'...👍🎤😄
Big girls don’t cry, sherry, walk like a man, rag doll, our day will come, working my way back to you. I could go on, but these 6 should get you going .
Yes, "who loves you" is an awesome choice for their end of era songs. But to delve into their earlier iconic hits you must check out "Sherry baby" and "ragdoll".
@Mr. Salvadori Given your reaction to this song, you would likely enjoy most of Motown's funk music. While this song is disco, it has serious funk vibes. Ergo my recommendation.
I read that after the four seasons songs he went 70% deaf he could not hit the high notes anymore have to Rag Doll Begin or Lets hang on this will show your what he used to be like also known as Jersey Boys
“Who Loves You” is a banger, too.
Yes!!!

I was born 15 days later 1/15/64.

“ Sherry Baby “ was their first big hit in the summer of 1962, it’s their best song, ever!👍🥰
I haven't heard the Four Seasons in post-1980 electronics. Where are those damn headphones.
( MY EYES ADORED YOU ) WAS ANOTHER BIG ONE SHAWN! 😊SAME YEAR AS THIS WAS
The Four Seasons was one of the few (if any) groups that had hit songs before, during and after The Beatles.
This is one of those songs that no matter where or when it comes on, you just have to stop and listen to it. It’s a happy song.
The Drummer who sang the lead to start this song was Gerry Polci, one of the 4 Seasons .. Franki Valli was in the blue shirt and sitting on the stool, the song was written by Bob Gaudio, one of the original 4 seasons
His first big hit was “ Sherry Baby, “ in the summer of 1962. Shawn, you gotta play this song!👍💚💚
The drummer sings most of it due to Frankie's throat cancer issues,so I've heard
💖💖💖 Love Frankie Valli! One of my favorites. Love "My Eyes Adored You", "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Grease", "Who Loves You?", "Rag Doll" and "Walk Like A Man".
Love this song and Gerry Polci on drums!! He later became a teacher.
The name of the song is “December,1963 but it was released in 1975.
I bought this 45 when I was a kid.
In first. This is everybody's favorite - you mom, your grandma, you great granddad - all ya all.
I was 7 years old then. How time flies. 🎶🎶🎶
Bassist Don Ciccone was the former lead vocalist of the Critters back in the mid to late 60's.
One of the Grooviest and Happy Songs Ever... I.M.O.
Who Loves You, and My Eyes Adored You. Great songs.
THIS WAS A HUGE RADIO PLAY HIT SHAWN! 👍😊
I was born late december 1963. Happy birthday to me.
Bought the 45 of this back in the day. Catchy tune!
Gerry on the drum is amazing.
Their hits through the 60s and 70s or too numerous to mention. Check out "Sherry" by them. Iconic!
One of my favorites! As well as WHO LOVES YOU & their version of Silence Is Golden
As people have commented here, you should react to "Who Loves You Baby"
"My Eyes Adored You" ,and "Beggin"
This song just stayed with me since the 1st time I heard it.

I never noticed ‘til watching the video with you how little Frankie Valli sings in this song. This and "Who Loves You" were two of my favorite radio songs in 7th grade (‘75/‘76)
Got to do "Rag doll"
Wow, that was so young when this was out but it definitely brings back a lot of memories and even though I thought it was slightly on the cheesy side at the time, listening to it right now I just got a really happy feeling and it made me kind of want to rock out to it, lol.
Always loved this as a kid. One of my.moms favorite. Lost her in 2022. Made me smile ❤🎉

Released in 1975...my freshman year in HS...Frankie carried over to a little soft rock 😅
Magnanimous of Frankie to give him center stage.
Man, do I love this song! I was only a kid when it came out, but I have loved it ever since.
Of course, as a kid at the time, I thought this song was about Christmas - talking about late December and all. It would be quite a while before I was like "Oooooohhh, it's about that".
Great song, my friend Doug was the drummer for many years
One of my all time favorite songs.
I DO love this song!!!

Oh Shawn, you are gonna vibe with this!
Yea, this one had a nice groove, so many hits...
The instrumentation in this song is top notch. Such a great pop song. One of my favorites.
Check out Frankie’s "Swearin’ to God." Similar vibe to this and "Who Loves You," but he does all the singing (I think :-)
One night stand……or the beginning of a relationship.
♥
Yes, "who loves you" is an awesome choice for their end of era songs. But to delve into their earlier iconic hits you must check out "Sherry baby" and "ragdoll".
Probably when he was still working to pay off mafia debt from his bandmate. See the movie JerseyBoys!
You got to see the movie Jersey Boys... Frankie Valli story
I agree, you should give a llsten to "Who Loves You"! This also has a video that is similar to this one.
❤❤
The mayor of munchkinland lol
@Mr. Salvadori Given your reaction to this song, you would likely enjoy most of Motown's funk music. While this song is disco, it has serious funk vibes. Ergo my recommendation.
I know. Listen to "Runaway" by Del Shannon in 1961. Good falsetto too.
I read that after the four seasons songs he went 70% deaf he could not hit the high notes anymore have to Rag Doll Begin or Lets hang on this will show your what he used to be like also known as Jersey Boys
Let’s Hear Dawn Go Away.
She popped his cherry.
There a way better Frankie Valli songs where he does way more singing.
If I'm correct this was when they switched record labels signing with Motown. Let me know if I'm right.
Talented🤘🤘🤘🤘No AUTO TUNE SHIT👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
