Hey man awesome video! The best part about it is that you don't spin the wheel a thousand miles an hour like everyone else does. Just a little quarter of a crank is perfect! Nice
@@RideEatWander that's awesome, so frustrating all these sound test videos nowadays 😬 I just picked up some Reserve 37 yesterday with I9 hubs, they're such a difference over DT 350's!
@@RideEatWander yeah they're pretty sweet, crazy how much quieter the bike is all that cassette chatter. Yes the first thing I did to the wheels was put that 54 tooth ratchet on, worked well
They are for sure. I took it up to the bike part this weekend and the sound still remained a bit subdued than before. It just took that sharp edge off the click. Also coasting further.
I know it looks really good. I know Onyx is working on a lighter weight hub. Overall though I like the wheel system that I9 has and the sound doesn't really bother me. Easier for people to hear me and get out of the way.
Some will say that they have had troubles with Torch hubs but I cant say that I have had the same experience. They have been solid for me and with them switching to Hydra now, maybe some good deals can be had. I for one am not itching to switch even with Hydra released.
@@RideEatWander i was the same. I dont wanna hear racket while riding but it’s not. Only bought the i9 for quality and engagement and dont notice the buzz much. Only at night on road if tooling around.
I can attest to the quality. Going to do a long term review soon. Had to replace some rims though due to some dents which were my fault but I don’t see myself moving away anytime soon.

Thanks man! Ya I tried to be realistic about the wheel speed.

Ya they are quite a bit lighter and definitely faster engaging. Did you do the star ratchet upgrade ever in your 350's?

Hey dude, your hub sounds way better after your tune/grease. Good job!
Thanks Ryan!
Just ordered a set today from Worldwide Cyclery. Can’t wait to ride with them!
Nice! I am getting ready to do a full review on them but in short, you shouldn't be disappointed.
I ride a DT Swiss hub. Rented a bike this past weekend with an i9 hub, kept look back thinking someone was behind me. Those hubs get loud.

Shimano is onto something with their silent hub...... I can't wait.

Way quieter! Did you replace the bearings?
It's good to do after 14 months.
I did not. I will probably look to do that at the end of this season. They were spinning smoothly still.
I have a brand new i9 wheelset and it doesn’t sound that loud? You think it will get louder as it gets older?
Yes it will. Once the Factory grease spreads around it will get louder the more you ride it. If it gets too loud you can add more grease in.
I dont know if I should get this hub or the hope pro 4
If you are in the uk. Have a look at hunt enduro wide. On par with hope but more pawls and engagement, wider rim (33mm inner) and handbuilt in uk.

No grease hub. Sounds much better!
It’s a distinct sound for sure
Annoying before , and annoying afterwards.
Not buying it !
Thanks for the video 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Still buzzing!🤣i9s are not meant to be quiet. Them things are loud.
Yes they are! Sometimes its nice every now and then to have them quiet
Love i9 but dont think I could handle that buzz everytime I ride!!!
I hated loud hubs at first but after a while you forget its there.
