    Thanks for a great video! I'm about to get my first cine lens for my X-T5, and it stands between a SLR Magic Miniprime, Meike, 7Artisan 15mm and now the Sirui 16mm. Do you have any experience with the other brands? I feel like Sirui tries to be as sharp and "modern" as possible. Am I wrong here? I'm more after a softer and more old school (Cooke) type look myself.

    Are colors consistent across all 3 lenses?

    • @EvanSchneider

      I didn’t test this specifically, but I believe there is a bit of color variation across the set.

  • @CPSWEDEN

    I think the 24 got a little too much distortion. Sounds like you didn’t experience that with the 16? I shoot real estate and the 16 would be nice to add to my original set.

    • @EvanSchneider

      I didn't do a scientific test of the 16mm on any charts and I was shooting more organic scenarios, so I'd recommend trying to find a review that did. But still, the edges seemed pretty straight for a 16mm.

    how do you feel about these lenses against your sigma 18-35?

  • @grantstang8331

    Im a fellow fuji shooter and the h2s is my love but ive recently been conflicted with some of the built in attributes of the lumix S5iiX. I was just wondering from a grading and shooting perspective if you've had thoughts on the matter comparatively?

    • @EvanSchneider

      I haven’t graded much Lumix footage and I’ve never shot with the S5IIX, so I’m not sure I’m qualified to say much. But both cameras are great. It really depends on what you’re shooting and your specific needs and trade-offs.

      @@EvanSchneider do you have a preferred monitor for compatibility for your H2S other than a SmallHD?

    I just ordered 16 mm most likely be using it with my full frame camera. I just wanted to know for the shots that you used and normally do you attach an any filter to it or do you just push the shutter speed high shooting at 1.4 I feel like you’re gonna have to have that shutter speed very high of no filter.

    • @EvanSchneider

      I use a 6-9 stop VND when shooting with these lenses in bright daylight so that I can open up to 1.4 or 1.2

      Everything is advertising. Whatever creative content you are putting out there is advertising for your brand, your skill set and your gear. Folks just getting into cinematography like myself would ask all the gear questions even if the creator was just showcasing his work. Essentially, we are all walking billboards for our personal brand.

    • @SlavicSon

      @@EvanSchneider Yeah man, appreciate all this. I’m looking to get the 16 now as opposed to the 35 with my recently acquired used 6k pro.

    • @2kstyles

      @@SlavicSon it’s a bit of a muddy line sometimes and videos can be pretty biased especially when the creators have been sent lenses/ equipment for free - they are going to want to keep the brand sweet and say good things and maybe sprinkle a few gentle negatives such as “it has a bit of chromatic aberration but it’s a characteristic of the lens” therefore people can be misinformed and make purchases that don’t perform as well as they are made out to be.

    • @SlavicSon

      @@2kstyles That’s a fair point. Creators need to monetize so they can keep creating and try to seem fair and impartial out products they use and highlight. Something I need to learn.
