Your little adventures are always so amazing! So many people just waste a weekend or a short break, thinking it's not enough time, but your trips always remind me how 'big' a little adventure can be.
Hey! Just wanted to let you know, I've really been vibing with all of this content lately - the story you both tell through your videos and the way you've filmed and edited is awesome. It feels so authentic - so thank you for putting out genuine content.
Haha trying man. Our biggest goal is to be authentic in the content we put out and hopefully encourage other people to live whatever adventure they want. Glad it's coming across that way. C
I just noticed that you guys add a very subtle hand-held camera shake on your wide shots. It makes it seem like you’re being filmed and creates a very cool documentary-feel to your videos! Awesome video as always, guys! Loving these camping videos while I’m trapped at home in lockdown in the UK!
Did this in July 2017. There was still a fair bit of snow everywhere, and a lot of melting water from further up the range creating some sketch snow bridges. The switchback up towards the pass was completely covered in snow. We went up the least strenuous path we could find, and took an hour or so. Super intense. Stayed in dusy basin for two nights then hiked back out. So beautiful, and great memories.
@@codyandvictoria yes it is! I love being up in the mountains and seeing little native trout swimming around! Gonna have to get you a little fly rod to carry in your pack and next time try to catch one or two! Adds a little spice to the trip to catch a fish that most people don't know even are in that little stream and most of those fish will never see people!
Been on that trail several times. Just came over bishop pass from the backside a few months ago. Beautiful area, love it out there! Mt Agassiz is a fun climb too
Hey Cody, great video! I live in Bishop, so I really enjoyed seeing the Bishop Pass trail through your lens. Its all covered in snow now! Its a small thing, but you should try to avoid camping on any sort of plants, even small grass. The ecosystem up in the Sierra is very fragile. Stoked to see your channel move towards backpacking!
Holy HECK the dynamic range on those dinner shots was fantastic!!! Getting both you two with your headlights in the foreground and the purple starry sky behind 😍😍😍
Thanks for sharing, brings back some great memories. When my dad was in his early 20's he would backpack into Inyo National Forest. Then when his three boys were old enough, he want to share the adventure with us. So in the late 60's he took us over Kearsarge Pass for a week in to the back country. I think I was all of 12 or 13 at the time. Given our ages he had a guide with pack horses take us in and drop us off. After a week we packed out. The following year we went over Taboose Pass to Bench Lake. Great times for sure and fishing was good too.
So glad you all enjoyed Kings Canon. Iv have done different hikes there . It’s so beautiful there. My boyfriend has a vacation home not to far from there. It’s like his back yard.
Your channel is so watchable. Great filming, perfect music choices, great balance of scenery and talking, production value is fantastic, and you have such a positive relationship with each other. Thank you!
All those mountain lakes are so beautiful! You guys are beasts for hiking it in your tennis shoes too! Thanks for always inspiring us to get out there.
Looks like good times. Piece of advice, in windy conditions like that you might want to throw one of your backpacks in the tent while you breakdown the tent. It'll save you a lot of headache or chasing down your tent.
Camping in the cooler weather is kind of my fav, less bugs, crowds and I dont know why, maybe just cause i haven't done it as much over my lifetime. Great video you two...15 off GO!!!!
Your presentations of the great outdoors are unparalleled. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate your work. The documentary style, the colors, music, everything. Excellent job, you have a new subscriber!
I appreciate the way you compose your videos. Your story telling skills are amazing. The way you convey certain feelings throughout the video is awesome. I am looking to getting into bag packing when it heats up again . Your video just popped up into my for you page. Keep up the quality content !
Aww man! We had a great learning experience on oak mountain when we went last month and the next trip will be even better (we over packed). But I’m definitely gonna be waiting for spring even though we live in the south. I’m cold intolerant lol. Looked like fun guys! We are headed out for a trail ride tomorrow to enjoy the sun! Hope y’all are having a great day!

Heading out for my first camping trip under 30 degrees. Will click the back country link, I’m sure I’ll find out I need some new gear for the colder weather...
Too bad you guys didn't actually get into Kings Canyon. It's so different at the lower elevation with more streams, waterfalls, caves, huge trees. Perhaps you can do it in another video.

When striking camp, always leave the tent staked into the ground; remove the poles first and thus you reduce the potential for sail effect.

Wow ! You both really did great ! Thank you for the journey !
Is it ever unnerving being that far away from everything, it being THAT dark at night, and so quiet? That peak was gorgeous.
Sometimes but there aren't too many concerns really. Bears maybe but we've never had an issue with that. Otherwise it's just pure bliss.
