I remember the sounds of the snow crunching beneath my Warhawk as I slowly trekked across the winter wonderland, mostly flat as far as the eye could see. I remember how serene it was. How calm, how peaceful. I forgot that I was supposed to be searching for enemies. I forgot I was a warrior. For an instant, I existed in a state of pure wonder. The icy peaks of mountains began to form before me. I knew my Warhawk wasn't going to be able to take the inclines well. I decided to hike across them rather than up. To my surprise, I was graced with a beautiful view. A valley within the mountain range. It was beautiful beyond imagination. The star burning over the horizon, painting the land in glass. And I stood there...alone...and complete.

This phrase indicates a Clanner's confusion and lack of understanding. When presented with a situation which they cannot deal with, such as shooting DropShips out of the sky, a Clanner will typically shout "Muh batchall" or "muh trials," followed by copious grunting and posturing.

From all my years of gaming, the original Mechwarrior 2 soundtrack stands as the one game with the best soundtrack of all time... and yet somehow you managed to improve on it. Well done.

I'd like to add Total Annihilation's CD soundtrack to that as well. Epic as well, but in a different style than MW2's, of course.
I still have my TA and MW2 original CD's stashed somewhere at home hah.

Pyre Light always was my favorite of all the MW2 soundtrack pieces...
for me personaly mechwarrior 2 merc soundtrack was the best, but this one brings back memories that hold a good place in my hart! greets from the netherlands

I've been really loving your remakes. I mainly started on MW4 but this older generation of electronic music, revamped, I def dig.

I'll admit this took a bit to grow on me. The original is one of my favorite video game tracks and I'm kind of a traditionalist, but after giving this a second listen... It's pretty freaking good. Well done man.

Mechwarrior Online is pretty good. None of the respawn/arms race crap that happened in all the other titles. You pick your weight class and play and it's useful in that sense. Scouts can be scouts. Assaults can be assaults. Slow, stick out like a sore thumb...big targets. But they melt faces. Give it a try. It's free.

Lovely! I listen to the original MechWarrior 2 soundtrack on my way back and forth to work. Nice remake! :) Loving it. Now I just wish they could make a remake of the game itself, capturing that atmosphere. And no, I don't want realistic lasers like in the later games, I like having to lead my opponents when I aim, much more fun! :)

Just a q about your Á new dawn (cover edition)' album, it contains remakes of music from the Mechwarrior 2 OST, such as umber wall and Arkham bridge etc, but where are the Mech theme songs? such as this one and Timberwolf?

Did you know that in the mission briefing, if you look at the shiny gold elevator in jade falcon, you can see your MechWarrior. Kinda creepy....

If you were to make a modern BattleTech movie, which era would you place it in, and who would be the main antagonists?
I think I would place mine in the Dark Age era, and make the main antagonists be the rebuilt _Society_ faction; "The evil ex-Clan super-scientists are back, and this time they're freaking pissed. They're going to be taking it out on the remnants of the Clans and Inner Sphere alike."
I really want to see the Clan Invasion, especially the Battle of Tukayyid, but that would sort of require a some sort of overview prequel showing the Clans and IS first
Just pull a Star Wars, with a short exposition bit at the beginning, and then starting the actual movie in the middle of the action. Meanwhile, a separate studio (in constant communication with the first) could be in charge of a Star League-era film, showing the Amaris Coup and the Exodus. The FedCom Civil War and Succession Wars are also good eras.
I wouldn't mind seeing a film on the first Succession War. That was one of the most destructive wars, yet the least discussed.

Like, the Refusal war would be cool and all but it's a lot to learn at once.
Crescent Hawks keeps the action to one planet, you need maybe a maximum of 20 Mechs, and it's got a manageable cast whilst having lots to hook into more ambitious movies if it's successful. If it really takes off we have the next Marvel Cinematic Universe

Honestly MW2 was a bit short, desipte how Mazing it was. MW3 would be really dang neat though.... Longer campaign, and the challenege of the pirates moon!

Something about the first part of this Pyre Light remake always didn't sound right to me; it's like some of the notes are missing.
Classic music that should be applied to a Mechwarrior game: "Mechwarrior" (NEW) new visuals, sdfx but keeping the original soundtrack & basic story line. More story, more missions...too cool.

Pretty sure that's a Fafnir assault mech. Fitted with two Heavy Gauss Rifles, one in each of its side torsos.

the second picture is a a Concussion 100 ton assault mech and Sagittaire 95 tonner also its not Warhammer like, it is a Warhammer the third is actually a Mad Cat mkIV and Vulture mkIV close but not correct and in the last picture it is a Sagittaire and falconer, so if you don't count the Warhammer since you said Warhammer like, you were successfully able to guess 2.

+GreenPaladin I... don't even know what that one is. The Fafnir doesn't have back-canted legs, or elbows... Might be a custom design. Or maybe one of the litany of TRO:3145 stuff I haven't properly memorized yet.
I think on the DeviantArt post it said the one in the back is a Sagittarius. The one in the front has a name that I couldn't find in any of the BattleTech websites, so it probably is an original.
