One of the things that makes the original three halos soundtracks so good is their tribal, primeval nature. Combining this with the futuristic setting of halo and you bring together past and future in a way that reminds players that war is a gruesome, ancient business which brings out all the carnal instincts of man.
Glitch Seven well 343i has the original halo members of bungie... they made halo 1 2 3 and reach... so be glad! they wanted to change some stuff! and if people didn't like a small thing... THEY CHANGE IT! look at halo 5!
DasBouss The war drums and all the build up, it is definitely gruesom in nature and is earthy in the way that war is. The next halo's aren't recreating that atmosphere.
the chorus that kicks in at 9:51 is my favorite part.. it makes you feel like like: "this is it. im ending this thing". i dunno.. that chorus really touches something inside of me... feels like your doing something the forerunners couldn't do: annihilate the flood, and protect the galaxy. (plus seeing that orange sky while hearing this makes it all the more beautiful).
I was hyped when halo 3 was released, so i get my xbox then SUDDENLY my brother broke my xbox with Giant BULLY HAMMERS, I was angry that time so I decided to sent him out of my house, The end.
This is probably the best Halo theme, because it incorporates elements from all the other versions and it has that nice conclusion feel to it. After Halo 4 and 5, even though it was nice to see MC return, I can't help but feel that his story should have ended with Halo 3. It was the perfect bitter-sweet ending.
This song does fit the mood in the game PERFECTLY. It starts off with the nervous feeling of the quietness, then starts getting progressively louder and powerful, as you realize that the ring is starting to fall apart. As you drive through, the beginning starts off powerful, as the place first starts crashing apart, and gets stronger and more prominent as the ring is smashing down right under your feet. It then finally calms down after you get to the ship. This song is just as epic as the actual game itself.
"Unfortunately the ambient sound in the background wasn't avoidable at all" I actually like the ambience. I think it adds to the mood, and makes it slightly more epic.
When I first heard this, many years ago, my first time reaching the end of the Campaign. The immense feeling of power and awe that swells within you is tremendous. The explosions, Arbiter firing away at the Sentinels, the Flood, the sound of the Warthog... this song can never be bested by any song in the history of mankind.
Nostalgic, Reveloutionary, Badass, Goose Bumps amount of Epic, AND the score. You got yourself a good game right there, and that isn't even half of it!
I swear if they ever make a Halo movie, when they get in a warthog after causing something to self-destruct and this starts playing I will cry tears of joy
vouch. Take Destiny's music for example. Then compare it to microsofts attempts. No matter how boring destiny may get, its music shall always rock, and it will always be better than halo 4 and 5.
This game will be the only xbox 360 game I will ever keep with me forever. This was the perfect ending to a trilogy and the music made it even better lol
@@dylangayne9268 Yes. The game first starts out on Earth. Once they find The Ark, they go to the ring to activate the ring. And this progressive song plays as you're ending the game.
If ever there were a Halo movie to release, this would be the only thing playing in my car on the way to the theatre while one of my buddies stands out the sunroof holding a nerf gun.
Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 was an Epic, I liked how Halo Wars and reach gave backstory to it as well as ODST's parallel story to Halo 2, 4 was a good game, but I feel it was unnecessary, the Chiefs Heroic death in the service of mankind would have been the perfect ending to the series, his legacy being the trust and alliance of the Arbiter that made peace with the Sangheli possible. The final view of the memorial with 117 scratched on to it (presumably by the Arbiter) was a powerful ending, and despite where 343 takes the franchise (killing off and bringing people back possibly :/) we will always have the epic that is the halo trilogy -'J
I really want to go back to 2011, when I played heaps of custom games/matchmaking with friends on Halo 3. And the warthog run. I would always play this on a Friday night 10 minutes before 6:00 and it felt like I was part of saving humanity in Halo 3 Oh the nostalgia TMCC has revived that now (now that its working) And sure Halo 5 is disappointing because of the campaign (but overall games is good but it is so much better than Halo 4) but Halo 5 brought back the amazing music! Jinnouchi is a good composer!
I hope they release TMCC on PC within the next few years (2017 would be a good year to release it because 10 years since Halo 2 launched on PC) But if they don't, just give at least a H3 Port on PC
Thank you so much for recording this! I remember thinking that the Halo Finale song on the OST was lacking some of the musical arrangements from the game, but I had given up hope of ever finding a proper version. Now, here I am years later, and I stumble onto this video completely by accident. This has made my day.
Would anybody else pay to go see this live at a symphony? Imagine what the acoustics of a theater would do for this song! My Logitech speakers would be jealous.
The only Halo main theme ever. I dont care if the new studio in charge of the Halo franchise change the story or a bit of gameplay, the game have to evolve, but they should have defenitivly keep this theme, or some musical references to the theme. It's just the soul of the freaking Franchise.(I know its not the actual main theme, but comeone. You know what i mean)
I heard that a lot of other Halo 5 soundtracks were based on or inspired by previous tracks, so I would check those out too. I have to say, I prefer Halo 5's soundtracks to 4's by far.
A-Fucking-men. Someone who appreciates 343's work and doesn't just bad mouth it because of minor faults or because it isnt Bungie. Much praise to you sir.
Titanic jedi Microsoft owned halo before it was halo. it was them that made budgie make it a shooter when it was suppose to be like halo wars. Halo 3 will most likely go to PC soon because it is given away for free to gold members.
Wow, I was just playing Flappy Bird while listening to this... most intense motivation i've ever had for flappy bird! ... I definitely made it onto the Dawn xD
I may be alone here, but does anyone else think the ambient wind noise adds a touch of Legendary to the sound? I'm listening to this while playing other stuff to make it more epic.
We can't keep living in the past if we want a better future. All we can do is wait and see what 343 does next, because a company is only a name if not for the people behind it learning and changing. Besides, nostalgia can be a bad thing sometimes.
so many memory's playing with my brother, playing for 8 hours on our xbox360 getting all the skulls, even the forge world skull (that was a tough one) ah man i wish i could have a good times compilation video made so i could go back and watch the fun shit we did :D
I actually love how in halo 3 how you are constantly allied with different factions throughout the game (Marines not included) Sometimes you are with the covenant (you are allied with the elites) Sometimes with the flood to stop the halos, and you really get to know all the different sides of the war! Especially in Halo 2 when you play as The Arbiter for a chunk of the game. And if you read the books, you really get to the halo universe
Hopefully 343 Industries can bring back a similar track like this. Apart from The Trials - Halo 5: Guardians, that was a good one. But just want something more like this.
The ambient is all right. it adds to the effect of the track. You were lucky this time. it makes the place feel... isolated and abandoned... if you catch my drift.
Halo 4 was an experiment, and its [multiplayer] gameplay will be replaced in Halo 5: Guardians with what Halo does best: highly competitive map-control scenarios. 343i realizes that very few people enjoyed Halo 4's loadouts and ordinance drops as much as they did the original Halo multiplayers, and for Halo 5 they're breaking away from the CoD-esque multiplayer and returning to what Bungie originally created. I think that the multiplayer lobby populations speak for themselves when I say that most of the Halo fanbase abandoned Halo 4. Halo 3, even 4 years after its release had plenty of full lobbies, over a million players on at any given time. But before Halo 4 even turned one, its lobbies had under 100,000 players at any given time. Halo 4 was, again, an experiment. It was fun for some, yes, but those who enjoyed the original Halo games found very little enjoyment in it. Might as well just play CoD.
It pisses me off because Halo was about a super soldier and the UNSC trying to win the was vs the covenant and to stop the prophet and the covenant army from activating the Halo rings. A mysterious technology in space which is pretty much a nightmare. Now its about the chief stopping a guy called Didact and the now the UNSC because the biggest threat. ........ WTF THIS TRILOGY SUCKS ! Put bck the old ones and same for the theme songs....
***** well, to be fair, their was one scene where a halo Ring was in the background of a scene xD ... I think the only reason they called it Halo 4 is because it connects the title to the Halo franchise, just like Halo reach, ODST and wars did... I would have preferred a title like "117" with that title, no true halo fan could miss it -'J
I decided to take a look at my comment and I just noticed sooo many mistakes. Who ever understood that message is a BOSS anyway halo 1,2,3 and ODST was about the halo story. Reach was kind of part of it. Wars nahhhhh not at all but 4 wow just wow. They should of called it halo whatever instead of 4 because 1,2 abd 3 was about the rings and 4 should be part of it as well
in my opinion, this is the best halo 3 song. because it has the song from halo 1 mixed with one final effort. I love it cause you're driving in a warthog for the final just like in halo 1 but with a more badass song
me and my dad best every halo from 1 to 5 in legendary (during the time when there was no anniversery). we rarely had skulls on but all that we have to beat is halo 5.
Even though Halo 3's story was on the "meh" side, it was still the most epic of them all. Genius soundtrack. All orchestra. Pure space opera. Sure, there are lots of good game soundtracks out there, but nothing. Nothing will ever sound like this.
One of the things that makes the original three halos soundtracks so good is their tribal, primeval nature. Combining this with the futuristic setting of halo and you bring together past and future in a way that reminds players that war is a gruesome, ancient business which brings out all the carnal instincts of man.
halo 4 does that very well also!
But then Bungie made a twisted mutant LoL/ Warcraft/Halo game called Destiny that, while technically well made, is god awful.
Glitch Seven well 343i has the original halo members of bungie... they made halo 1 2 3 and reach... so be glad! they wanted to change some stuff! and if people didn't like a small thing... THEY CHANGE IT! look at halo 5!

Michael Reilly I've looked it up. There were not that many people at 343 that were on the original bungie team.....sorry.
Actaully sounds better with the ambient wind sound for some reason.
+Nug Chuggle atmosphere of course ;)
Hi
To me, there is no epic part in Warthog Run. The entire thing is epic.
Its not REALLY epic till the music kicks in, how about that?
Glitch Seven You make an excellent point
You got me in the first half, not gonna lie.
This guy made a flintstones gummies commercial jingle. Let that sink in
the chorus that kicks in at 9:51 is my favorite part.. it makes you feel like like:
"this is it. im ending this thing".
i dunno.. that chorus really touches something inside of me... feels like your doing something the forerunners couldn't do: annihilate the flood, and protect the galaxy.

I kinda felt like that too, been feeling that since '08 when I started playing Halo. I wish they left it in the OST since it sounds good.
yes yes 😉
that is true
Doɴ Doɴ Doʀɪᴛø that is how I felt when I was playing this game on legendary and beat it
Gotta be 3:42 for me
I think the background ambience works perfectly!
This track speaks to you in ways that the halo 4 soundtrack just doesn't. It's just a soundtrack.
Hell, if this was the only song in the game, I wouldn't mind.
I totally agree The halo 3 soundtrack is inspiring to people the halo 4 music is just saying your a hero big deal here is some ambient music
i agree man ,but ... in halo 4 there's two tracks "Arrival" & "117" ,they give me chills everytime i hear them
Sacrifice does as well - the one you can hear rather prominently that wasn't released until part two of the soundtrack.
Cicino Norseman Maggot 117 is the SHIT
its sad knowing we will never play halo 3 for the first time ever again
Yeah, fucking brothers broke my Xbox, I hate having to pay just to get my Xbox back
I sold mine. Wish I never did...
I was hyped when halo 3 was released, so i get my xbox then SUDDENLY my brother broke my xbox with Giant BULLY HAMMERS, I was angry that time so I decided to sent him out of my house, The end.
MaximumRageQuit we need a time machine but even then it won't be the same
MaximumRageQuit I almost cried when my first damn XBOX got the red ring of death and we couldn't fix it
This is probably the best Halo theme, because it incorporates elements from all the other versions and it has that nice conclusion feel to it. After Halo 4 and 5, even though it was nice to see MC return, I can't help but feel that his story should have ended with Halo 3. It was the perfect bitter-sweet ending.
When you think about it no story ever ends, but it was the end of the halo saga.
This song does fit the mood in the game PERFECTLY. I can see it now... Cheif and arbiter side by side killing everything and being badasses while doing it!
- Finish The Fight
+J99 Oh looks like cheif and arbiter is the only badass.
i felt like crying listening to this.. i remember playing halo 3 with my cousin back in grade school and having so much fun with the story.
Same here playing with my brother when I was younger. Ahh, nostalgia isn't it great. :')
For me, it was playing infection on sandtrap with my brother and his friends. Ah, those were the days...
"Unfortunately the ambient sound in the background wasn't avoidable at all"
I actually like the ambience. I think it adds to the mood, and makes it slightly more epic.
"Even in death your sergeant guides us all"
I wish this music followed me everywhere I go, so damn good.
This music just make all epic!!!^^
fabien landrai I
If I had this during a math test I would get distracted and start jamming. I would probably fail though.
You could get this on your phone or something that plays music, your prayers has been answered. :P
Piraja27 I do not have a phone, yet I have a 3DS, I guess that's as close as I can get
eating while listening to this makes you feel that youre eating to save the world.jeez I need help.
The epic game bros Keep eating or you will kill us all
Lol I can just imagine myself eating while dramatic Halo music intinsifies me
Lol
Eat them fast or we will get infected
You dont need help i need it i cant even complet this level even on fucking easy what the fuck is wrong with me

Screw all the cod haters halo will always have a special place in my heart. Only true halo fans get that
Halo was always better than cod bro. We will never forget about Halo. Fuck the cod haters
COD haters gonna hate, halo fans gonna fan 😘
Cod is nothing compared to halo
darebearandchris Your damn right bro
Nostalgic, Reveloutionary, Badass, Goose Bumps amount of Epic, AND the score. You got yourself a good game right there, and that isn't even half of it!
Halo will ALWAYS be my favorite game. The good times I've had.
The ambient sound makes it better!
This music in your head whilst running= faster than Kenyans.
I swear if they ever make a Halo movie, when they get in a warthog after causing something to self-destruct and this starts playing I will cry tears of joy
same :D
+Raikou King1227 same here too
+Jack Mcslay Yup; never has lighting the fuse and running away to avoid a hugeass explosion has been so fun!
Same
they cause the Halo to self destruct i think
Bungie makes better Halo music than 343. State your opinion here.
idk. I like this song but have you heard 117 from halo 4
No
A Ballistic Ninja // CrsrltABN go listen to it
True

Feels right to fly through butthurt comments about 4 with epic music in the background.
The chorus And the ring exploding is absolutely insane There was so much to focus on and the music made it all the more better
At least I think it’s a ring

Bruh, your a little late with that.
There is already a movie XD
Forward Unto Dawn ain't a movie, dude.
***** Then what is it
It's a web miniseries.

this music touches my soul everytime😢
Same, brother. Gets me teary-eyed.
Halo 3 will always have the most memories to me. I'm always compelled to crack open the older games when I hear this stuff.
Why cant halo be as badass as this song anymore :/
When you go try hard mode and don't want to lose to your scrub friend.

reynel4 Four worthy tracks: 117, Arrival, To Galaxy, and Never Forget Midnight.
"...the epic monk chanting."
Loool.
Nice.
A-Fucking-men. Someone who appreciates 343's work and doesn't just bad mouth it because of minor faults or because it isnt Bungie. Much praise to you sir.
hALO BACK ON THE PC PLS
i would love that too bro but... microsoft bought Halo out, when they did it never came backto PC.
Titanic jedi Microsoft owned halo before it was halo. it was them that made budgie make it a shooter when it was suppose to be like halo wars. Halo 3 will most likely go to PC soon because it is given away for free to gold members.
bob dolan
Do u mean bungie not budging lol
Margie Arriaga.
You even misspelled the text he typed. *FacePalm*
yeet
The song i grew up with and the game i grew up with. The masterpiece that is halo 3!
The choir singing near the end is so harrowing
I love this because it has elements from the Halo 1 and Halo 2 themes.
Who else had MASSIVE goose bumps at 3:43?
Wow, I was just playing Flappy Bird while listening to this... most intense motivation i've ever had for flappy bird!
... I definitely made it onto the Dawn xD
I may be alone here, but does anyone else think the ambient wind noise adds a touch of Legendary to the sound? I'm listening to this while playing other stuff to make it more epic.
Never undermine the value of music in videogames-- remember that every soundtrack in Halo is what helped shape this entire franchise's story.
this is the most epic music ever!!!!!!!
Absolute masterpiece
maybe somehow some beutifull day bungie will repair and return to the old nostalgik godlike Halo
You realize that bungie doesn't make halo anymore, right? Microsoft bought Halo after Reach came out and before Halo 4.
And not to mention, the big players in Bungie who characterized the studio, like Marty and Staten, are gone.
ISuckAtPvP i know that but i still hope that they somehow will return someday

jonathan Brodd yeah cause 343 screwed up the halo series
I never played halo 3 as it is not on pc, but this makes for a great homework-background music! It's so motivating!
R.I.P Halo we always remember the golden age H3
Indeed my friend
the ambient background sound for this background music makes it really cool. Especially for a cool background sound.
Just to think what would of happened if SGT Johnson 's warthog wasn't there..... Well u know. No more sequels Lol
take the mongoose.
or the ghosts
Ferbombi yup
Master Chief has luck so he would have found a way.
Matthew English he just would've telephoned there... because game.
so many memory's playing with my brother, playing for 8 hours on our xbox360 getting all the skulls, even the forge world skull (that was a tough one) ah man i wish i could have a good times compilation video made so i could go back and watch the fun shit we did :D

RIP MARTIN O'DONNELL, YOUR SKILL IN MUSICAL COMPOSITION WILL BE MISSED GREATLY
Hopefully 343 Industries can bring back a similar track like this. Apart from The Trials - Halo 5: Guardians, that was a good one. But just want something more like this.
+Connor Clark Yeah exactly, that's what i mean. More piano like this would be awesome
halo definitely had its great soundtracks. definitely brings back old memories. whenever i play halo it always brings old memories
bungie
The ambient is all right. it adds to the effect of the track. You were lucky this time. it makes the place feel... isolated and abandoned... if you catch my drift.
Best part at 0:00 to14:14
The memories of doing the vidmaster challenge with 3 friends while this played. Those were the days man
I C O N I C
This combines the best elements of the original theme and the halo 2 theme
I'm really glad all the haters on Halo 4 are leaving, the true Halo fans can stay enjoy the amazing things 343i has to bring to the table.
I know right! I actually liked Halo 4, even though it's not the best Halo.
(excluding a few minor things, but yes.)
Halo 4 is tied with Reach for best Halo soundtrack for me.
***** The sarcasm is strong with this one.
Somehow, 49 people dislikes the best halo 3 music.

a lot of grammar nazi's didn't like your comment
You saying I am a grammar nazi?
Ripa Moramee
If I was referring to you, I would include this little tag ^ . I meant the "doesn't liked" part of ralph.
Thanks man for Made this video, im a huge fan of halo

24 ppl didn't beat the campaing on legendary
And 5 more
'Mantis' is one of the best Halo themes I've heard, but these tracks are amazing :D
Screw 343 !
We used to blast this while playing Halo 3 at college. Made CTF that much more epic
I love that icy wind sound you hear, it goes perfectly with the last stage!
me and my dad best every halo from 1 to 5 in legendary (during the time when there was no anniversery). we rarely had skulls on but all that we have to beat is halo 5.
"If I'm going to die I'm going to listen to some good music!"
Driving in ETS 2 with a close deadline, Final Rounds of CS-GO, Last 15 minutes in BF1 Operations, you name it, this song's got it.
The best of the best, this will always be the very best.
The ambient wind adds more nostalgia. Brings back those great memories from 2007.
thanks for the quality
The Music of Warthog Run ist on the Official Soundtrack and called Halo Finale. Its a 3 and a half Minute Version.
You've given me an idea that i want to try out :)
I'm pretty sure if bungie would have kept halo the series would actually be good and have the feels to it like halo 3 and previous halo's.
You sound suprised. 'bout 6 years... that was pretty satisfying.
Halo 3 will always be my favorite game out of them all
I'm going to use this music for when I work out
THIS IS THE MOST EPIC SONG IN THE HISTORY OF GAMING!
I was never much into the fps genre....But I will admit, Halo is awesome and does its job superbly.
Even though Halo 3's story was on the "meh" side, it was still the most epic of them all. Genius soundtrack. All orchestra. Pure space opera. Sure, there are lots of good game soundtracks out there, but nothing. Nothing will ever sound like this.
