In the german part we speak a dialect and already learn german in kindergarten since swissgerman is not an official language and there we have to learn french in school. In the french part they learn german and italian in school, in the italian part they learn german and french and in the rumansch part they already know german and learn italian in school. But just because we learn these languages in school, it doesn't mean we know how to speak them fluently so a swiss person from the german part and a swiss person from the french part mostly speak english together (it's really weird).
