You are the king with TH-cam test by far! Biggest fan! Can maybe do the test by using a revolution meter on one of the motors pulleys while spinning over...Could measure the revolutions per so many mins. Definitely could hear the difference on the more powerful units tho. Great job! Thanks
When i used to drive Tow truck doing roadside assistant, our whole fleet carried the NOCO brand. It's very heavy duty, Been in the heavy Florida rain, never had a problem and put that thing through the ringer and it still works as new today. Highly recommend
Our NOCO at work stopped taking a charge after about a year.. used it about 1-2 times a week to jump our big trucks. I followed the directions every time. We'd only get about 2 attempts per charge out of it. NOCO said the battery went bad because we didn't use it enough....... so if you buy one make sure you're going to use it frequently
I use the Noco everyday in my job (CAA. Canadian AAA) that thing will start transports at -40, I keep it fully charged in my truck and bring it inside at home night time, I have thousands of starts on my pack, it’s 4 years old now. Still works perfectly
That's awesome, thanks. I'm going to get one. I have purchased the Imazing and some other one and they didn't last very long at all. Got maybe 3 jumps out of each. Wasted a couple hundred bucks already.
I bought the Yesper YP40 for both myself and my wife based on this review and a recent cold spell killed her battery and with the boost function she started her battery literally 4 times in one day with no problems preventing her from being stranded.
I bought the NOCO from this review in the hopes it would jump start our big equipment as they sit for days at a time and charging with a truck takes at least an hour. NOCO jumped our D6, 88" Roller, And Gradall in one charge with no problems and power left over to jump more. Thank you for this review, I have bought 8 more for my foreman to keep in their trucks.
@@betod3113 I bought a NOCO GB40 for my tuned BMW F30 3 years ago, It didn't work well and I had to call help any time it stranded on the street. Thought NOCO wasn't good but it turned out GB40 is not enough for my tuned F30 although they said that it would work up to 4.0 litters diesel and my car is 2.0 diesel. I gave it another try and bought NOCO GBX155, just on that day my car accidentally got a completely drained battery, jumped start it with GBX155 and succeeded!
Bought a cheaper “TopVision” jump box based on your last review of these boxes. Still going strong several years later including dozens of jumps across cars, trucks, and a couple tractors.
I did the same 2 years ago. I thankfully haven't needed my Topvision starter too often, but it's been great the several times I've needed it to help out with family member's cars.
Been using the NOCO gs20 for over three years now in my wife's hrv. She never charges the thing and always leaves it in the car but it has always been able to jump her car, even during the winter. Been incredibly impressed with how it holds a charge and cranks over. Worth the extra money for peace of mind.
I just was thinking this morning that I wished you would do a video testing and reviewing Jump Starters. Thanks a lot. You are a TH-camr that we can trust and rely on to make purchasing decisions. No click-bait titles, no fake reviews, no stupid mugging-face thumbnail pictures. An honest channel for people who want the truth about products. Thank you.
I bought the Gooloo after your testing from awhile back. It's been a literal lifesaver. It's never failed and has saved me from being completely stranded. Your videos have been so incredibly helpful thank you!
I bought the same one because of Todd's testing for my dad a while back. He's not needed it so far, but I'm glad to hear it's working well for you. Hoping the same for him then!
It'd be great to see how well these hold a charge after sitting for a while like the back of a trunk. Maybe even comparing units from your previous reviews if you still have them to see how well battery has held up over time
I have a charger in both cars. I don’t recall the names, but one was under $100 and I believe the other was just over $100. These little boxes are a great piece of technology. I remember the days when the only option was to jump start the car, or take the battery over to your local gas station to have them charge the battery. That was when gas stations were actually service stations with mechanics on duty to work on your car, if needed. The good old days! Thanks for the tests on the charger boxes!
I love Project Farm's content, so I mean this all in a complimentary way. When he's reading product marketing or features, his delivery is so consistent that he sounds like a well-designed AI voice bot. I like it because it suggests that every unit is getting a fair assessment. It also makes it that much more noticeable when a product performs above expectation and he "goes a little wild". "Very Impressive!".
I also like how he says, "We're going to test that." I can never predict when he'll say it or what criteria trigger the phrase, but you know it's on when he does!
It’d be pretty interesting if you revisited the Jump-Packs from the original video you made a few years back and see how they perform versus new. Regardless, it’s really nice seeing you remake an older video with new products. Keeps it current and up to date!
@@ProjectFarm Maybe you should bring one of the products from the old test over to the new one, just to have a point of reference between the two tests. Especially if you change the methods of testing
@@ProjectFarm Do you still have them? I would have thought you buy for too many toys and probably need to get rid of them afterwards to prevent yourself being swamped. That would break my heart, btw since I'm a hoarder 🙂
About $1600. dollars later and another successful jumpstart test comparison complete. My gosh this Project Farm channel is so dang good. My go to every time I need to make an important purchase. Thank you so much.
As a Canadian who often sees -40C, the second you put them in a freezer I knew they were useless haha, it's crazy how much the cold affects stuff. Not to mention at that temp your oil is so much thicker and everything is frozen tight. Just jump-starting a regular engine at -20c with a warm booster pack could be a test.
It goes from crazy to predictable when you remember that the battery is using chemistry to produce energy. Remember basic chemistry, want more of a reaction, add heat, and vise-versa. Less heat, less energy. Which begs the question, WHY would you choose to live anywhere with temperatures like that? I live in shorts 11 months of the year. Come on down, the weather's great.
@@lenzielenski3276 Variety is the spice of life. As I get older, I seem to actually miss winter sometimes - if you've never been out in a field when it's dark and the stars are so dense that it seems more white than black; the sound of the wind and absolute calm and peace as all the animals rest... One of my favorite things in life. Something that has to be experienced to be understood.
@@memphetic Yep. My Guard unit was activated & deployed to Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield/Storm. We were sent to KKMC out in the desert & the starlight was intense.
At our auto shop, we moved from a really large Snap On unit to two of these NOCO units and couldn't be happier. Also, when one started to act strange during charging, they gave us a brand new unit without any fuss. That's important for us because it's a big part of why we pay a premium for snap on. Their service too has always been amazing.
I purchase a Gooloo based on your prior video and it works great. It's been sitting in the back of the car for more then a year and is sitting at 75% capacity just like it was after the jump start. It's a huge peace of mind to have it ready just in case. Your reviews are the best I see on youtube. Thank you for all of the hard work you put in making the tests and videos.
Be sure to bring it in once every 3-6 months to give the lithium a little exercise with phones. Letting it sit for years can be a death sentence for an otherwise good lithium battery.
I got a gooloo based on your last jump pack review. It was normally $140 or 150 and I got it when the price dropped to $100. It worked extremely well and didn't need to be charged often when I used it daily when I had a battery drain problem
I run two trucking companies that use V10 gas and diesel engines, and we use the NOCO brand. I swear by those things. It won me over the morning it started a 26' straight truck with a diesel engine that was "dead dead". And they are SIGNIFICANTLY less in size and weight than the old battery charger/jump packs.
What model noco do you use? I have a 3L Perkins in my 69 Nufield that I can’t get started in this -10celcius -25 windchill weather. My 6.7L diesel ford f250 can’t get the tractor running with jumper cables. I have 4 jumper packs 3 motomaster 1 cat and they are useless in this weather.
These are available at various locations , I bought mine at Autozone , a good thing to do is take a pic of the serial number and then find out when it was made as some devices sit on shelf for months , that way you can know you get a fresh new one , even though NOCO has a warranty that starts on the day of purchase , you still have to send it in
Yes. But he talks so fast I sometimes have to go over parts again to get everything. I tried slowing him down to .75 on YT here and he sounded almost normal LOL.
I purchased a Noco at Walmart that was incorrectly priced. Originally $180, purchased for $95. It’s an absolute beast for its size. I’m regularly jump starting motorcycles and engines from 2.5L up to 6.5 with it
Thank you Mr. Farm. Once again your reviews came to my rescue. I pulled out my old Harbor Freight jump starter today to charge it and discovered that the battery pack had swollen tremendously, so that's headed for the recycling bin. Amazon serendipitously had the Gooloo GT4000S as a "deal" for $129.99. (on 1/2/2023).
I had left a comment on another video, but wanted to say something here too, the accuracy of these tests and all the hard work you do is such a service, I appreciate you PF! May I suggest a video comparing assembly lubes? Permatex Ultra-Slick, Lucas, Royal-Purple, Melling, Redline, etc. thank you so much 🙏🏼
I second this suggestion. I bought assembly lube earlier today to reassemble the head on my 2009 2.4l Camry. I hope the one I got is high quality but unfortunately I have no objective way to know.
That's a good idea! It would be good to include a couple of engine oils in the test too. I've met some engine builders who refuse to use special assembly lube and instead use engine oil.
I think this really shows how much these jump packs have improved in a short time. I picked up the gooloo GP2000 earlier this year (seems very similar to the cheaper Yesper and Foxspeed) and had no problem starting my 6L GTO. I think most of these sub $100 jump packs would do just fine for most people caught a little off guard with a battery that's starting to go bad or had just sat unstarted for a little too long.
I picked up the same thing a week ago. My old 800 amp Duralast died after a year of use and it struggled when it was really cold. The Gooloo was effortless to use
Good to hear. I've got the GOOLOO 2000 sitting under the tree for me based on the previous video. For most people that only have a 2-4L gas engine, most of these would be plenty.
I bought the Goolo based on that test too. I got it on an Amazon day, it was less than 100 bucks. I've used it a few times recently on my 4.0 powered 4Runner, and it's been terrific. What a game changer these things are, compared to whipping out jumper cables and repositioning another car in order to jump start. So easy and convenient.
I have had my current jump starter for about seven years. Realized the other day it is no longer holding a charge, so I now have to buy another jump starter. I was sitting on Amazon trying to figure this out when I said to myself, "I can't trust these reviews. I don't know how many of them may be fake. Screw this, I'm going to find Project Farm to see if he's done a video on this." Lo and behold, you have. Thank you for taking the time to test these various products. You have literally saved me the guesswork on buying items for my Ford truck.
Bought the Gooloo based on your tests over a year ago. Have not had to use it many times but has worked every time I did. Holds it's charge for many months with negligible loss of charge. Well worth the price. Now, how about some auto battery charger tests. I see some advertisements indicating they can charge or maintain lead acid flooded, agm, and LiFePo. Given the different charging specs of these different types of batteries that is difficult to believe. Different manufacturers don't seem to agree on charging specs for the same type batteries. Great channel. You are the hardest working guy on TH-cam. I hope you keep it going. Ron Hall
Great job as always! My biggest concern about these jump packs is pulling them out when I need them to most just to find they're dead. Perhaps you could do a test down the road where you charge the packs up to 100%, then toss them in your trunk for 6-12 months through a variety of hot/cold temperature swings. After the wait period, you could bench test them and/or try to start the farmabego.
I have an older Gooloo GP200 in my 2000 Dodge B2500. It's rated as 500 Amp starting current, vs the 800 Amp starting current on the Gooloo tested here. We get -35C here often, and the pack was untouched for a year, in a door panel (in other words not the warmest part of the van). Started the 5.2 liter V8 with a flat battery no problem a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not sure how great it is for battery life, but the rear under-seat storage in my F350 has a 12v outlet, so I keep my Noco GB150 plugged in there so it stays charged 100% all the time. It's not great for lithium to stay 100%, but a dead jump starter isn't any good either.
@@adammerritt I wouldn't do that. That's fine for an lead acid battery but it's a death sentence for lithium when left alone. The circuitry will protect the battery but always being charged to 100% will stress the lithium and age the cells. Best thing to do is to use it occasionally, even as just a regular power bank and recharge it. After it gets close to 100%, stop charging and you're good to store it for up to another 6 months. For lithium, the safe storage charge is somewhere between 50% to 80%. Then once a year discharge it and recharge it to 100% so the circuitry remembers the life of the cells. Well designed products like laptops and phones have batteries that record and monitor the battery. I'd imagine the more higher priced jump starters have software built in to do that.
Man, your reviews are unmatchable! You dig deep into the product debunking cheating brands with their fake specs! I subscribed to the channel after I watched the video "Penetrating oil...." about 4-5 years ago. Love to see you 3M subs, you deserve it!
I bought the Audew based on your 1st jumper review. Seriously awesome jumper. I have a feeling most of these new units are clones based on the packaging, the jumper cables and the carrying case, especially the one with the "boost" button, just like the Audew has .
I also bought the Audew based off the last review. It's started my 3.0L diesel tractor probably two dozen times in weather in the teens and lower. Holding up well so far, I keep it charged to right around 80% when storing.
@@chrisdeleo4574 Hope you do not have any trouble with your Audew, as I did. After 6 months, the Audew jump starter failed. Because it was under the one year warranty period, I contacted the company and was met with resistance and lies. That continued until the warranty period expired. The parent company is Chinese and you probably already know that the Chinese are deceptive and liars.
In my experience, they function really well when fully charged. The only issue or problem arises when you actually need them after six or eight months, at which point you discover that the power pack battery has run out, leaving you stranded. Consequently, it would be nice to read an evaluation of how they fare over time.
Battery technology has come quite a long way and discharging from sitting doesn’t happen quite that bad. But just like anything you should maintenance your items. When you do vehicle maintenance, include your jump pack into a routine and plug it in every so often to make sure it’s charged. I have an older Lithium jump pack that I just had to use to jump my car and the last time I had been charged was probably a year prior. It jumped me no problem.
LIthium Ion holds its charge a lot better than the old Lead Acid jump packs. But yeah, they don't last forever, so it would be nice to have a six month test. I try to top mine off every few months.
I brought a NOCO for my son and his Jeep last year. It is not that expensive model but he has thanked me on three different occasions for the booster. I thanked myself because I didn’t have to leave the house at 11:30 and go jump the Jeep because music played to long while at the beach partying. Kids!! Thanks again for the review, you have helped me choose on several purchases.
Best video yet!! Love testing equipment that matters when needed. Somethings tested, like the best blender don't really matter much at the end of the day.... But a jump starter being able to get you home to use the blender for a adult drink really matter...
Great testing as always Todd! For those who are asking, I have a jump starter similar to the cheaper ones in this video. After being fully charged, I left it sitting for about a year. I then used it to jump a Corolla engine. it was still showing 97% charge when i went to plug it in to recharge. So I doubt they will have much problems holding charge. Maybe plug it in and check once a year will suffice.
I really appreciate the final thoughts on the ones that have performed better from the 'value' perspective, along with the 'reliability' point of view. It really helps me determine if value or quality is my priority !
I bought four jump starters, based on your previous jump stater video: - one for my vehicle - one for my wife's vehicle - one for my father's vehicle - one for my mother's vehicle They've already been used 4 times.
I bought one of the cheaper ones from the first review (I think it was only $40 at the time), and it's been outstanding. Saved my butt many a times, as well as several friends, and it's still going great here years later! Thanks so much for doing these videos!
Thanks for continuing to bring awesome content! I’m remodeling my house and had a great idea for something I’d love to see you compare, and I think a great deal many other people might agree: luxury vinyl plan flooring! Scratch resistance, effectiveness of locking mechanisms, how breakable the tabs are, how susceptible they are to warping in high sun areas, etc. I’d love to see how the lead brands from the major box stores compare, as well as Mohawk and Golden Arowana from Costco! Anyways, just an idea. I always appreciate your content and couldn’t think of anyone better for that kind of comparison!
The new kid in town in Jump Starters seems to be the capacitor-based units. It would be great to see how various brands if these jump starters perform against each other and against the lithium batter based jump starters.
I actually found and bought (this black friday) the red Gooloo "4000A" on Aliexpress based off the previous jump starter video with the orange older Gooloo. Very happy with it, massive cranking power and great acessory list. Good to see this updated unit got a spot on in this new video.
I got mine off Amazon back in May, been nothing but happy with it. When it isn't jumping my car, its great as a power bank for my phone/laptop. awesome for camping.
I've got the NOCO that you tested and It's nice to see the confirmation that it's a very good unit. I've been very impressed with it. I loved buying it at a $100 discount during the Amazon cyber-Monday.
I've got the NOCO GB70 and it's a solid built brick and the most reliable of the three I own. I've used it multiple times daily for almost 5 years and it's still going strong.
So, I really want to know which unit can be left on to be the 12v constant to help a modern car home, to fill in the 12v gaps the alternator has. When the car battery is catastrophically failed.
I bought the smaller Gooloo from the last time you reviewed this and it has been really useful and reliable to jump my car several times since I don't drive but maybe every 9 months nowadays.
I have a NOCO GB40 (1,000 amp) and what's impressed me is how many cars it can start between charges. I'm probably a sucker for spending the $90 price tag but this thing has always worked when I needed it
Since you have no reason to lie; If it did what you said it did, it's worth $180 to me. Yeah; initial cost is expensive, however, stranded on the road with many people driving right past you, not giving a fuck, so it's worth every penny !! When it starts your engine and you're driving away with a smile, that $90 ain't shit. Excuse the profanity please, we mechanics just do that sometimes.
Used to have the noco gb150 3k amp. And loved it- agree they last so many jumps its nice!!!! Mine got crushed so i upgraded to the gbx150 4250 amp ill see how it goes.
Being of the old school mentality, I didn't think these compact jump starters would work. Now I am impressed that any of them would start a diesel. Didn't know I needed one, now I am going to add one to my shopping list.
Tbiker- I have always operated under the adage that if the jump unit was big and heavy (wet acid battery) then it was better than these small ones. Well, the small ones hold a charge better, they are substantially lighter, and more powerful. I still have my big Cat jump unit. But I carry and use my Audew much more often. You won't regret getting one of these small ones. Cheers
I was shocked as well, to find out how well they work. No more lugging around that big blue (NAPA) box! I keep one of these in all my vehicles and a few more in the shop. When I service a vehicle I swap in a freshly charged one. I've never had a problem with a unit losing charge in as much as six months between servicing. Do buy one that tested well, or at least one similar from the same brand. I've tried a few from brands I thought could be trusted and they did not work well at all. I've had good results from several different Gooloo models and from (not tested in this video) Tacklife T8 and one of their higher spec'd units. I don't know if NAPA has a good one yet. I should ask...
Project Farm please do these videos about jump starters once a year in the cold weather. They make perfect sense for people looking to buy these jump starter every year.👌
The Noco Units are top notch. If you wait for sales on Amazon, you can get some HUGE discounts on them. I have the 2000 Amp and 1000 Amp models and neither have let me down, the 2000 Amp one has started my 7.3 Powerstroke and the 1000 Amp one has zero issues starting my 5.3LS and any other smaller motor I have tried.
Yeah, that's true. I waited and bought my noco gb 150 for 207 euro at Amazon 2 years ago. Used it only seldom to help other people with smaller engines until now.. and worked well until now. For long therm use it should be better for the cells only be charged at about 70 percent (cell degradation).. maybe I will do that, because there are still enough reserves.
Another great Project Farm video! My concern about these jump starters is how well they will hold their charge. It would be great if you came back in six months and see how well they performed.
Or better yet how they survive the extreme temperatures of the seasons. So test on the first days of summer and winter or spring and fall. It would still be every six months per your original suggestion. The question is when is the best time to test. I'm thinking spring/fall right after the extreme cold and heat is over.
I agree completely. How well they work after sitting in a trunk for four seasons and a year would be very relevant and useful. (Just add a couple from the Weego lineup, please, since that is what I have sitting in each of our cars.)
For lithium based batteries, cold is very debilitating. Good lithium batteries meant for solar storage have internal heaters. It might be worth having an internal heater in a jump box which could be switched on to warm up a battery that’s been left in a cold vehicle. Do any jump boxes actually have heaters? The self discharge rate is generally be fairly low, on the order of a few percent per month. It ought to be possible with a good quality jump box to charge it up in the fall, put it in a vehicle and expect it to be ready to provide a jump any time the following winter. Of course, it is worth testing to find out if various jump boxes live up to these expectations.
Working on a car lot for 10 years. Especially In the winter we come across a lot of dead batteries. Crappy jumper packs have always been an issue. I've used dozens of different packs. The noco is the only pack that's never failed us, not even once
HEY! It's not immediately obvious how to up the donation here! I almost gave up at $1.00, and I was wondering why that faint gray line with all the holes in it was there! Love your videos, and your timing; thanks for saving me $110 on a booster pack!
I have two NOCO units for battery charging and maintenance and they are hands down the best units I've ever used. Expensive but worth it if you use them frequently.
I have many NOCO products and am very happy with all of them. For jump starters, I have the GB-20 and GB-40. While I've only used the GB-40 so far, it is very easy to use and works flawlessly. I keep the GB-20 on my motorcycle but haven't needed it yet but anticipate the same level of quality. Love the videos!
@Aaron Brown.. I have (3) NOCO GB-40 Jump starters in all of my cars. I even gifted one to my dad. No problem with them at all. When I come across someone who needs a jump, there's always juice available to get the job done. I just purchased the NOCO hard case for them on Amazon. Much better than the silk type storage bag that came with them..
My NOCO will refuse to work with a battery that have to low voltage... Same with many other jump starters I have tried. Now I drive around with a spare 95Ah battery as my "jump starter"...
@@a64738 I think you have to have some patience and wait for the charger to say it is ready to jump. You do have to enter the jump mode for it to work properly.
Same here. I've only had to use mine once, and it worked like a champ. I noticed the $90 Yesper has the exact same clamps and connector with boost button.

Your testing and analysis of these models was superb. Frankly, it would be near impossible to find value without wasting a lot of time, money and energy on my own. I just got the $99 Yesper in and it's value is just as you described (a huge thanks) and more. The wattage display, waterproof case and ports, 1-hr fast charging, USB-C in and out port, and USB-C to 12v male cigarette lighter plug. Pretty insane for the price. Thanks again for your work! I really enjoy your standardized testing techniques in all of your videos.
Missed out on the hulkman 10.0 which is a pretty fancy 4000cca model... but it certainly falls behind the NOCO. I've had the GB70 (2000cca in boost mode) for 5 years and it's still going strong. Currently I carry three jump boxes for my job. -- My primary is the Hulkman, but it can be very finicky and the clamps suck plus the cables fall out far too easily. It's primary advantage is 0-to-100 charge in less than 90 minutes with its included wall-mount charger. -- I have an Autogen 4k/cca [MJS111B] box that is definitely cheap bottom shelf but it gets the job done on most cars, but not big vehicles. Very, very slow recharge cycle. -- The NOCO GB70 is my last option because it has the lowest peak CCA *_but_* it has an important function - it'll run a car like a normal battery will and won't shut off after 20 seconds like the Hulkman & Autogen will. With my NOCO at 100% charge I've moved cars almost 3 miles and still had almost 50% charge left. Like the autogen its recharge takes *forever* I can also daisy-chain two boxes and get 24v systems up and running, the largest I've got turned over was a mini-Freightliner which impressed the hell out of the driver. I do roadside assistance so this video was a very, very useful research tool but, in the end, only showed me one thing: NOCO is still the bar to beat for most uses... and, like Snap-On, that is reflected in its price.
Last year I went to a noco booth at an automechanica convention and when talking to the reps I asked what their biggest model was meant to start (it wasn't even that big, probably about the same size as a big briefcase) He simply said, "trains, or tanks"
I remember your first jump started review with the Audew 2000a. I found them for $60ish each and bought one for each car and they really do work amazing. Even when my f250 with the 6.2l died I was able to start it up just fine. They was many years ago and technology definitely seems to be improving. I'd probably go with the gooloo from your last episode as well as this one just because of the value. It'll start up just about everything unless it doesn't have a battery lol. And it has a DC output otherwise I'd do the Lokithor since that was almost on part with the noco. Unfortunately that noco is just way to expensive. However... I know they go on major sales very often. Usually 50%+ off. So maybe if that one had a big sale like that it would be worth it over the competition.
take a look at the topdon js3000. dude started a a 68 gms truck with a 6-71 diesel with it. dead battery, truck not run in awhile, took 3 tries and a recharge between try 2 and 3, but it did it. keep in mind this a 7 liter old school mechanical injected engine.
I also purchased the Audew 2000a based on Todd's review. Just used it last week to jump start my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Temp outside was in the high 20's. The charger had been sitting in the back end for about the past 12 months. Great purchase.

Great video, thanks for all the work that went into all that testing. I have an older model noco gb70 and it has worked like a champ every time currently $200 but not as fancy as the one you tested. They do charge a bunch for a case and a high speed ac charger which are sold separately but it's a great set once you spend the money for it.
the one he tested GBX doesn't take/ need the high speed charger.. It charges usb C and will charge very fast (limited by what power source you use) Macbook Pro Laptop charger will charge really fast. Same with the included 12 V car charger. It also says 5 min of charging is enough for a jump start.
PF conducted a jump starter comparison a few years ago and the Audew starter outclassed the others in all areas. Based on that, I've since bought 7 of the Audews, one for each of my family and for all of our cars and trucks and they all perform flawlessly even after a couple of years and they hold up well in our Arizona heat. I've just recently ordered another one from Walmart for my sister-in-law as they always have the best price. Thanks for doing such comprehensive testing and helping to steer us in the right direction.
I too bought one after the review. Just shot craps two weeks ago. Light use and the best of care. No clue why it suddenly died. I looked on Amazon for a replacement, but it seems like it’s been rebranded. From the source of been able to find out that I do was accused of tampering with reviews. I don’t know if that’s fact or fiction, but I almost cried when it died. Lol
I always appreciate the thorough testing and by-the-numbers results. Since car things seem to be in swing, what about a test of kinetic ropes, snatch straps, and shackles (D-ring and soft)? Thanks Todd! Keep up the great work.
@@DannySauer glad I'm not the only one. I was excited to find some that are made in the U.S., and would love to see those in the review mix. Todd could also include T-Rex tape, since he used it to pull a tractor in another video. :^) He's like a one-man Consumer Reports.
I got a NOCO Boost Pro GB150 3000 Amp last fall {2022} for my 2011 Ford Fusion, just for peace of mind. But, I am also a truck driver. I showed up to work to start out my week over-the -road to a truck that would not start. Now in case you didn't know... a Freightliner Cascadia has 6 batteries that run around 900-1000 CCA. I thought this jump starter had no chance of working on this monstrosity. {Note: It has sat fully? charged in my car trunk for 7 months untouched}. I turned it on... let it charge for 30 seconds and the truck growled to life! WOW... I am a believer in this product. I recommend this beast of a device to everyone.
Great test. I have the GooLoo based on previous tests. Would like to see battery maintainers tested. They would seem to be a great tool for something that isn't started often in cold weather but need to go when you need it.
Hope you do not have any trouble with your Audew as I did. After 6 months, the Audew jump starter failed. Because it was under the one year warranty period, I contacted the company and was met with resistance and lies. That continued until the warranty period expired. The parent company is Chinese and you probably already know that the Chinese are deceptive and liars.
I'd like to see the HULKMAN brand tested. my 8.5 has extremely high build quality and the only time I've used it so far I was extremely impressed, started my friends car quicker than the battery normally.
I bought two a few days ago before this video came out. AAA guy came out to jump our battery with one, He swears by it and jumps about 30 cars with it per day.
+1 Surprised it wasn’t part of this, I bought one based on my research and it works great. Although I see they no longer have a product page on Amazon anymore, not sure why that is. Also Fanttik seems to make a good one.
I bought two GOOLOO GP4000 units based on a previous review. Looks like the gooloo gt4000s is the same battery with a few more usability features. It sure beats jumper cables and has already saved my wife a couple times with a dying faulty battery. It's a great unit and both models can be had around $130 on Amazon right now.
Same comment! Gp4000 also comes with a nicer hard case which packs everything nicely rather than the bag! That said - top quality video as always! Thanks 🙏
The advantage the NOCO has over ALL the other packs is that the leads are permanently attached so no adaptwrs to lose or break off. That is the main reason I bought mine.
The NOCO Boost saved my bacon on Cayuga Lake in Upstate NY. My alternator completely died and we ran the battery dead. The NOCO boost was the only thing I had on the boat. I hooked it to the positive and negative and ran the boat (25 ft. Princecraft Vogue 25XT with a 150hp Merc) on the boost 5 miles back to the marina in the dark with lights. This thing was well worth the money and I can't recommend it enough. Outstanding product!
Thank you Project Farm for your very informative and unbiased videos. I hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas and have a long lasting career for many more to come. All the best, TWF
I definitely watch your channel a lot and appreciate your opinion on products! (I grew up on a farm as a plow boy in Nebraska, so I know directly some of the tests scenarios you are using!:) ) I bought the Tacklife 2000A directly on your recommendation in a previous video and am still entirely satisfied with the product! I actually forgot to charge it and was able to use it to jump 3 dead battery cars from 1 charge! When this Tacklife gives up its life, I will be purchasing based on this video. Can you please do a pancake air compressor review? That is what I am wanting next! Something for around the home usage. More for cleaning, airing up tires, maybe an impact driver once in a while.
I’ve gone through a bunch before I got a Rigid. Still going after four years. I use it hard. Will run 2 framing guns at the same time. Light and very portable.
Forget the pancake compressor for tires, impacts, etc. You will be disappointed. A nail gun does not take as much air as an impact or a tire. To start with check the compressor rating against the tool.
Its great that makers are adding more utility features: informative displays & MUCH better lamps. I carry a Jump start battery pack and leads mainly to rescue other drivers. Those wooden batteries are so funny.
I have the Noco and lots of old junky farm equipment. Just a couple days ago I had to jump our 8.2 Detroit 8 times and that was on a 75% charge! If you want to pack a punch multiple times the Noco is a beast of a portable jumper
I love the Audew and it’s been gifted to many relatives based on your tests several years ago. It would be nice to see how the old winners compare to the new ones.

I’ve been using my GBX155 at work for over a year now. Awesome jump box. Expensive for sure but in my opinion, worth it in a professional setting. I have both a Gooloo GP4000 and GT4000 for home use and they’re very impressive to. I’m glad to see the test results I got on my carbon pile for the GT4000 and GBX155 aligned very closely with your results within about 20 amps and less then half a volt difference. Now just need someone to come out with a jump box that has enough power and capacity to power up the 12v system of an electric vehicle for more then a few minutes. My GBX155 will give me about 7 minutes before it’s spent. Awesome video as always!
I bought an Audew based on your last test with this device. I am perfectly happy with it. I use it to jump start the diesel engine on a refrigerated trailer. I can usually get three or four jumps which means if I don’t prime the motor good enough I have a couple of times to try it. Thanks for the recommendation.

I appreciate the way you measure product claim? Put it through a series of resistance test... giving us product reality! Time and money are resources most of us consumers don't have in abundance? Plus the fact, learning things the hard way, is never convenient! I don't know if TH-cam has a public service award? But I believe you've earned it if they do!
Hi Todd, always a huge fan of your videos. Needed a booster pack, remembered, watching this, came back, and I just ordered a Yesper based on your recommendations. Thank you. Looking to upgrade my battery charger as well, perhaps that could be an upcoming test. Keep up the good work.
If I had been testing that Noco, I would have kept starting the diesel to see how many times it could do it before running out of juice. Just to be curious, though, clearly, it is a great booster. Keep up the great work!
I have to give a Gooloo 4000 update. I've had mine exactly one year and never never needed it until 7 days ago. My daughters car battery went dead. The 4000 cranked it right over. Literally the next morning (11 hours later) my sons Tundra was dead. The green flashing light on the Gooloo told my me I needed to hit the boost switch. The Tundra cranked right over. Tonight my son in laws Tundra was dead. Again the Gooloo cranked it right over. I'm thinking about buying a second one as I have 3 cars! Great Jump starter.
As a watchmaker I’d like to see you test inexpensive “farm /beater” watches under a certain price point. Casio g-shock vs Timex vs who knows what else. Heat / cold. Vibrations. Impact. Water resistance and whatever creative tests you can come up with.
Another excellent comparison. Thank you so much. That Lokithor with the Volt meter is useful because if the original battery has an internal short to the level that it would load the jumper to the point the starter does not receive enough power, you would know that when the voltage level drops below 9 ish voltage and continues to drop over a few seconds, that removing at least the Negative cable off the battery would be needed.

Happy Christmas PF team. Greetings from Uk 🇬🇧. Big thank you for the clear high quality audio on your videos. Being deaf clear audio is so important for hearing impaired viewers. Your clear voice is excellent.
I also love my Noco, I have used it to start so many cars on a single charge. I’ve started completely dead batteries using the force jump feature by holding down the buttons a bunch of times and still had more jumps left over.
He did a video like this before, and I would definitely recommend watching it. I bought the Audew (which was his recommendation), and it has been fantastic for me (starts the car almost instantly)
@@joshuagibson2520 it was a NOCO, and I kept it in the car for a couple years. I think the heat of summer and freezing cold of winter killed the battery. It swelled up and stopped working.
Man I went by your review and bought the Povasee jump start and I am throughly impressed with it. A guy had a dead battery in his chevy truck with a 5.7L and another guy tried jumping him off first but, they were going to have to wait for the other truck to charge the battery before it would actually start the truck. Well I pulled the Povasee out and hooked it up and Bam! The truck started like it had a new fully charged battery in it. Totally impressed and happy with your reviews.
Still have my Audew jump starter which was one of the top rated units of the last comparison. It’s gotten me out of several dead battery situations. Would be curious to see how it stacks up against these units. Love your videos.

Thanks for the good reviewing yet again! As others have said, it'd be nice to see how the older jump starters you tested (and heck, other older tools too) are faring now if you still have them. Also, it'd have been nice to see a claimed vs actual for the mAh of the units, kinda like TTC does.
It's been a year since the last jump starter review. Please let me know if there are more brand's you'd like tested. Thanks again and best regards, Todd

Can maybe do the test by using a revolution meter on one of the motors pulleys while spinning over...Could measure the revolutions per so many mins. Definitely could hear the difference on the more powerful units tho.
Great job! Thanks

Great video but you should have did a test with all the batteries under 32f. I found the COLD effects the bats and the jumpers a lot.
When i used to drive Tow truck doing roadside assistant, our whole fleet carried the NOCO brand. It's very heavy duty, Been in the heavy Florida rain, never had a problem and put that thing through the ringer and it still works as new today. Highly recommend
Thanks for sharing.
Yup I own 3 noco jumpers there badass
Yea, I was surprised cause I got it cheap from autozone when I worked there, and shit man, that noco is a beast
You all are not listening. NOCO failed tests. It's JUNK

Wasted a couple hundred bucks already.
can't beat the real-world use for a review! Thanks!
I bought the Yesper YP40 for both myself and my wife based on this review and a recent cold spell killed her battery and with the boost function she started her battery literally 4 times in one day with no problems preventing her from being stranded.
Thanks for sharing.
WHATS A GOOD STRONG POWERFUL ONE ? THINKING OF GETTING ONE SOON JUST TO HAVE NEVER KNOW WHEN I OR SOMEONE MITE NEED A BOOST
Nothing under the 155 is any good.
Great to hear!
I did the same 2 years ago. I thankfully haven't needed my Topvision starter too often, but it's been great the several times I've needed it to help out with family member's cars.
I also bought the topvision and it's still going strong, too! I've used it on several different cars now and maybe ~20 jumps
I just bought a 2nd topvision so each car can have their own. 1st one still going strong, worked great the few times I've needed it.
Same, my TopVision is still going strong. I've used it maybe 3 times though in the last 2 years. :D
Been using the NOCO gs20 for over three years now in my wife's hrv. She never charges the thing and always leaves it in the car but it has always been able to jump her car, even during the winter. Been incredibly impressed with how it holds a charge and cranks over. Worth the extra money for peace of mind.
Thanks for the feedback.
Ive been a fan of NOCO.

Thank you.
Thanks and you are welcome!
I really like how rigorous you are with all your tests. They are all really pertinent.
It help a lot and it fun to watch :p
Thanks so much! Thanks for the channel support! I really appreciate it!
I bought the Gooloo after your testing from awhile back. It's been a literal lifesaver. It's never failed and has saved me from being completely stranded. Your videos have been so incredibly helpful thank you!
Thanks for the feedback!
I bought the same one because of Todd's testing for my dad a while back. He's not needed it so far, but I'm glad to hear it's working well for you. Hoping the same for him then!
I bought gooloo few years ago
Staring up 5.4l v12 was very easy
It'd be great to see how well these hold a charge after sitting for a while like the back of a trunk. Maybe even comparing units from your previous reviews if you still have them to see how well battery has held up over time
Agree would be interested to see a test where they are tested to see how long they hold a charge. No point having one if its flat when you need it.
Agree. A revisit at 6-12 months would be telling. Let’s be honest that we will buy, charge, put in the vehicle and forget it till it was needed.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah lithium packs do not hold up well to heat and cold, much better off with a lead acid battery jumper pack like the JNC660.
Yes! Another 'wait a year' thing like the batteries. :D
You are welcome!
Thanks!
Right on lol
I also like how he says, "We're going to test that."
I can never predict when he'll say it or what criteria trigger the phrase, but you know it's on when he does!
@@UglyGenius Totally! It's like: I'm reserving judgement...for now...but ye shall be judged!
It’d be pretty interesting if you revisited the Jump-Packs from the original video you made a few years back and see how they perform versus new. Regardless, it’s really nice seeing you remake an older video with new products. Keeps it current and up to date!
Good idea!
And to see if any of the batteries have swollen
@@ProjectFarm Maybe you should bring one of the products from the old test over to the new one, just to have a point of reference between the two tests. Especially if you change the methods of testing
@@ProjectFarm Do you still have them? I would have thought you buy for too many toys and probably need to get rid of them afterwards to prevent yourself being swamped. That would break my heart, btw since I'm a hoarder 🙂
@Frugal Family Living What model have you got and what do you need to start with it?
About $1600. dollars later and another successful jumpstart test comparison complete. My gosh this Project Farm channel is so dang good. My go to every time I need to make an important purchase. Thank you so much.

As a Canadian who often sees -40C, the second you put them in a freezer I knew they were useless haha, it's crazy how much the cold affects stuff. Not to mention at that temp your oil is so much thicker and everything is frozen tight. Just jump-starting a regular engine at -20c with a warm booster pack could be a test.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you!
Be sure to bring it in once every 3-6 months to give the lithium a little exercise with phones. Letting it sit for years can be a death sentence for an otherwise good lithium battery.
Agreed! I bought the Gooloo 2000 back in late spring, used it once and it's still at full charge! Great jump starter!
I got a gooloo based on your last jump pack review. It was normally $140 or 150 and I got it when the price dropped to $100. It worked extremely well and didn't need to be charged often when I used it daily when I had a battery drain problem
Thanks for sharing.
I too got the gooloo ;)
I run two trucking companies that use V10 gas and diesel engines, and we use the NOCO brand. I swear by those things. It won me over the morning it started a 26' straight truck with a diesel engine that was "dead dead". And they are SIGNIFICANTLY less in size and weight than the old battery charger/jump packs.
What model noco do you use?
I have a 3L Perkins in my 69 Nufield that I can’t get started in this -10celcius -25 windchill weather.

These are available at various locations , I bought mine at Autozone , a good thing to do is take a pic of the serial number and then find out when it was made as some devices sit on shelf for months , that way you can know you get a fresh new one , even though NOCO has a warranty that starts on the day of purchase , you still have to send it in

Permatex Ultra-Slick, Lucas, Royal-Purple, Melling, Redline, etc. thank you so much 🙏🏼
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the suggestions.
@@michaelburrell4685 what type of assembly lube did you use, sir?
@@mf1ve I agree, hopefully we can get that in the test too
I think this really shows how much these jump packs have improved in a short time.
Gooloo has a lousy attitude with customer service, though.
I bought the Gooloo GT 4000 off of how good they performed last year, plus it has a pre heater which is awesome as it gets -45 here
I bought the Goolo based on that test too.
You are welcome! Glad I can help!

Thanks, will do! Thanks for the suggestion.
I just bought it because you can’t go wrong for 109 with free shipping. Way better than anything at the stores near me
Perfect episode for winter. Thanks!
Great point! Nothing worse than getting stranded in extremely cold weather!
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
My gb1000 was left in the back for over a year and it was barely at 75% the bigger battery helps sustain the charge if you get a booster with more mah

Thanks for sharing.
Same, it's an amazing starter. Started lots of diesels with it.
@@chrisdeleo4574 I bought one as well and thought the same thing. It's a great jump starter.
Video content simply does not get better than this. No fluff even for a second of runtime. Thanks!!
You are welcome!
In my experience, they function really well when fully charged. The only issue or problem arises when you actually need them after six or eight months, at which point you discover that the power pack battery has run out, leaving you stranded. Consequently, it would be nice to read an evaluation of how they fare over time.
Thanks for the suggestion.
So if you have a small engine you'll need a tiny jump starter and use is as a powerbank everyday. To control the charge state.
Thanks and you are welcome!
Best video yet!! Love testing equipment that matters when needed. Somethings tested, like the best blender don't really matter much at the end of the day.... But a jump starter being able to get you home to use the blender for a adult drink really matter...
Thanks!

I bought four jump starters, based on your previous jump stater video:
- one for my vehicle
- one for my wife's vehicle
- one for my father's vehicle
- one for my mother's vehicle
They've already been used 4 times.
Thanks for sharing!
I bought one of the cheaper ones from the first review (I think it was only $40 at the time), and it's been outstanding. Saved my butt many a times, as well as several friends, and it's still going great here years later!
Thanks so much for doing these videos!

Awesome!! Love Sundays because it means another Project Farm video!!
Thank you!
You are welcome! Thanks for the suggestion.
@@ProjectFarm I would also love to see this. Seems like there might be a pretty big quality delta between different brands.
The new kid in town in Jump Starters seems to be the capacitor-based units. It would be great to see how various brands if these jump starters perform against each other and against the lithium batter based jump starters.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Yes leave us some recommendations @jeff so he can gather some to review.
Nice!
I've got the NOCO that you tested and It's nice to see the confirmation that it's a very good unit. I've been very impressed with it. I loved buying it at a $100 discount during the Amazon cyber-Monday.
Thanks for sharing.
I have a 6 year old NOCO 1000 and it’s paid for itself many times over. Still works like new.
@Laszlo Vass Noco has the 12v constant supply function. This function doesn't employ any safety features, other than the fuse in the line.
I bought the smaller Gooloo from the last time you reviewed this and it has been really useful and reliable to jump my car several times since I don't drive but maybe every 9 months nowadays.
Glad to hear!
I have a NOCO GB40 (1,000 amp) and what's impressed me is how many cars it can start between charges. I'm probably a sucker for spending the $90 price tag but this thing has always worked when I needed it
Thanks for sharing.
Bad thing about the NOCO boosters are the huge clamps, they don't fit my Mercedes' booster terminals too well 🙁
@@TopiasSalakka the new NOCOs have more lower profile clamps!
Looking forward to another great episode! Thanks again for the hard work and amazing content! Merry Christmas
Thank you and hope you enjoy the video!
Thanks for the feedback.
Project Farm please do these videos about jump starters once a year in the cold weather. They make perfect sense for people looking to buy these jump starter every year.👌
Great suggestion! Thank you.
I got the Gooloo GT4000S for around 99$ on Amazon...It is an amazing value! Thanks alot Project Farm, you re the best channel on youtube
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback.
That's how I got my Gooloo. 50% off on Amazon.
@@tasaman Same! 40% off of the same model in the vid!
Another great Project Farm video! My concern about these jump starters is how well they will hold their charge. It would be great if you came back in six months and see how well they performed.
Thanks for sharing!
On the ones I've bought they do seem to hold their charge quite a long time. Several months and still fully charged.
Working on a car lot for 10 years. Especially In the winter we come across a lot of dead batteries. Crappy jumper packs have always been an issue. I've used dozens of different packs. The noco is the only pack that's never failed us, not even once
Thanks for sharing.
I see many car dealerships using the jnc660, which is lead. They are more concerned with power and price than size and weight.
HEY! It's not immediately obvious how to up the donation here! I almost gave up at $1.00, and I was wondering why that faint gray line with all the holes in it was there!
Love your videos, and your timing; thanks for saving me $110 on a booster pack!
Great to hear of your great savings! Thanks for your support to the channel! I really appreciate it!
I have two NOCO units for battery charging and maintenance and they are hands down the best units I've ever used. Expensive but worth it if you use them frequently.
Nice!
Same here. The charger, maintainer fixed a battery issue I had. Well worth the money. Just leave it connected until the light stops pulsating.
Thanks! Thanks for sharing.
@@DalHarpJr I too have the hard case for my GB-40 and have no complaints with it. I wish they had a hard case for the GB-20.
I bought my Audew as a result of one of your tests and an excellent jump starter it still is - Very useful review -

I really enjoy your standardized testing techniques in all of your videos.

iI thought it was $70 dollars, why is it $99?
Like the autogen its recharge takes *forever*
I can also daisy-chain two boxes and get 24v systems up and running, the largest I've got turned over was a mini-Freightliner which impressed the hell out of the driver.
I do roadside assistance so this video was a very, very useful research tool but, in the end, only showed me one thing: NOCO is still the bar to beat for most uses... and, like Snap-On, that is reflected in its price.
Last year I went to a noco booth at an automechanica convention and when talking to the reps I asked what their biggest model was meant to start (it wasn't even that big, probably about the same size as a big briefcase)
He simply said, "trains, or tanks"
lol not surprised. I'll guarantee you that some people have them in their cars though
Thanks for sharing.
I bought the audew after his last review and absolutely love it! I paid $100 for it and have used it a lot with zero issues.
take a look at the topdon js3000. dude started a a 68 gms truck with a 6-71 diesel with it. dead battery, truck not run in awhile, took 3 tries and a recharge between try 2 and 3, but it did it. keep in mind this a 7 liter old school mechanical injected engine.

Thanks and you are welcome!
I love my Noco GB70
the one he tested GBX doesn't take/ need the high speed charger.. It charges usb C and will charge very fast (limited by what power source you use) Macbook Pro Laptop charger will charge really fast. Same with the included 12 V car charger. It also says 5 min of charging is enough for a jump start.
I have the tiny $99 NOCO GB40. No complaints. Starts my dead Chevy v8 work van no problem.
@@TheRonin508 how often do you need to charge that up, seems my Gb70 only needs a charge every 4 months.

I've been looking at these things for winter as well.

The advantage the NOCO has over ALL the other packs is that the leads are permanently attached so no adaptwrs to lose or break off. That is the main reason I bought mine.
Thanks for the feedback.
I mean, maybe…
Unless you use it all the time
Then you wouldn’t have them connected in the first place and you could just use it as a power bank
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't know if TH-cam has a public service award? But I believe you've earned it if they do!
Thank you very much!

Cheers!
These tests are incredible. Thank you for the thorough reviews, I have 8.2L (502 cu in) v8s, and find this really valuable.
Thanks!
A warm engine should start easier. You'd have to have some methodology of X minutes between starts and once it starts turn it off.
Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks and you are welcome!
I bought the Audew and so far so good. Since it performed so well in your earlier test, I'm surprised it wasn't included here as a contender.
I bought the Audew as well after seeing that video. It's done me very well whenever I've needed it
Hope you do not have any trouble with your Audew as I did. After 6 months, the Audew jump starter failed. Because it was under the one year warranty period, I contacted the company and was met with resistance and lies. That continued until the warranty period expired. The parent company is Chinese and you probably already know that the Chinese are deceptive and liars.
Happy Christmas PF team. Greetings from Uk 🇬🇧.
Big thank you for the clear high quality audio on your videos. Being deaf clear audio is so important for hearing impaired viewers. Your clear voice is excellent.
You are welcome! Merry Christmas!
I've loved my NOCO. Curious to see how it fares.
I also love my Noco, I have used it to start so many cars on a single charge. I’ve started completely dead batteries using the force jump feature by holding down the buttons a bunch of times and still had more jumps left over.
Great jump starter! Which model of the NOCO do you own?
Yeah I've heard nothing but good things about the NOCO
@@ProjectFarm I own this big one and also the GB40. Both have been great. Both of your tests I've been very impressed by the value the gooloo offers.
If you want to buy a NOCO watch slick deals for sales on them. They can be had for decent discounts on occasion depending on the model you want.
It's like you read my mind! I just threw my old one away over the summer. I've been looking off and on for which one to get.
Perfect timing!
What went wrong with your old one?
He did a video like this before, and I would definitely recommend watching it. I bought the Audew (which was his recommendation), and it has been fantastic for me (starts the car almost instantly)
@@joshuagibson2520 it was a NOCO, and I kept it in the car for a couple years. I think the heat of summer and freezing cold of winter killed the battery. It swelled up and stopped working.
@@dcmirk I see. Thanks for replying.
Appreciate the hard work and dedication you put into this for us
Thanks!
Thanks! Thanks for sharing.
Still have my Audew jump starter which was one of the top rated units of the last comparison. It’s gotten me out of several dead battery situations. Would be curious to see how it stacks up against these units. Love your videos.
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.

I have one in each car. They're great.
Thanks for the good reviewing yet again! As others have said, it'd be nice to see how the older jump starters you tested (and heck, other older tools too) are faring now if you still have them. Also, it'd have been nice to see a claimed vs actual for the mAh of the units, kinda like TTC does.
Thanks for the suggestion.
