I hope we can still visit bustling towns like in the previous game! There's nothing quite like exploring a new area and finding the town associated with it. Castelia city is also extremely nostalgic to me
No offense, but you might very well be helping rebuild these areas from the ground up...just remember, this island was thrown thousands of years into the past, lol! Methinks that would make seeing the restored villages and towns SO much more satisfying. 🥰
It's looking good so far. Judging by the demo, it looks like the npcs will be providing their own commentary which I'm thankful for. I loved the original Fantasy Life but the companions were often little more than bodies to be thrown at the enemy and, once you complete the story and the DLC, they feel kind of lifeless. I'm also thankful that the non-combat lives will be getting a bit more use. I almost never used them because anything I needed I could just buy and I preferred the password furniture items. I'm probably going to be using my alchemist and cooking lives a lot more as well. I didn't in the original because it felt more efficient to buy healing items instead of foraging for items in order to build up my inventory. Also, due to the fact that the map was pretty small and we were only going on what amounted to ambassador style missions, it didn't feel imperative to cook or make my own medicine. Here it feels like there's an actual reason to do a bit of role playing. Even if we go on an ambassador style mission, the map is still big enough that it's reasonable to pretend that you need to bring a bit of food along. Of course, I am still worried about the towns. The problem with open world games is that, unless handled properly, the world can often feel lifeless. The big appeal of the original game was the towns and the characters, even if they didn't have much to do in them, the towns still felt like something you could just run around in for hours. I think I saw a few houses near what appears to either be a dungeon or skip travel point, but I'm not sure
I think I see a village around the big Deku tree. There's also the city next to the boat, but that might be our village. Looking at the map, I can't tell where our village is meant to be. How crazy would it be if we had more than one village to mess around with? I mean, the original did give us more than one house, that would just be the next logical step. Furthermore, if we assume that every named npc from the original is in the game, besides Yuelia and Noelia's parents, plus any new characters, we could have around a hundred characters. That's a lot of characters for one village. I see what looks to be about ten towers on the map. Those could be villages or random dungeons. But I also see just as many huts, those could also be villages or dungeons.
Thank you for covering this game because sometimes I feel like I am the only person on the planet looking forwards to playing this! The Spear in the background blew my mind... Nice catch!
You're not the only one! I am counting the days. I was more excited for this than the new Zelda and I was so disappointed it was delayed again. I think I played the 3ds Fantasy Life for over 200 hours. It was an absolute gem.
It is But I also liked only being a master at one life at a time :/ Felt kinda good that I needed to go back to be a miner to get them extra stats and gear to get a big bounty done :)
If they give us a DLC where we go to Reveria and Origin Island I'll give them as much money as needed. ...well, I would for any DLC of the game, but I would love to see Reveria in these graphics. But at least we'll have the HD Texture pack for FL on October👍
I finished the 3DS game today after lolling around Reveria for a few years. I stopped progressing the story once I felt that it was about to end. The game has so much heart. Always teary-eyed whenever they get sentimental. 😢
So we can now change lives on the FLi? 😂 I'm so excited! I loved the 3DS Fantasy Life! It was my favourite 3DS title ever! I was thinking about the Artist Life that maybe you need Alchemy to make the paint, Weaver to make the canvas and Carpenter to make the frames and/or paint brushes 🤔 maybe they will have vistas or points of interest that you need to click to observe the environment for painting inspiration and replicate it in the artist guild 🤔 I hope that we can display those paintings in our houses!
omg the game is looking so good!! I’m happy that they’re putting time and care into it rather than sending out something half baked… I can’t wait for April 2025 🤧
Thanks for the in depth video! I'm a bit nervous about the timer on the screen. I'm not sure if it's just for the demo or some special time restricted mission? I really hope that we can explore the world without timers. 👀
@@KingGoose Thank you for answering! Ahw yes, that sucks a bit, maybe they had management issues and just decided to take the demo footage cause it was quicker. 😅 But I'm glad it's no actual timers in game, that'd have stressed me out. 👀
I think if there had been a spear life, they would have teased it more. I guess the "no life" option is for wielding daggers, but it really is mysterious...
im not a huge fan of the flashing effects either but i dont mind the support heavy roles the non combat life characters are taking, i usually take monika with me and all she does is throw rocks and heal occasionally even at max friendship, itd be nice if she healed/buffed more since her rocks do like 5 damage... either way im so looking forward to this game! i cant wait! good thing ill have the hd remaster to play while i wait!
Yeah combat effects need to get fixed :c Good old monika also notice glenn and hawk would give you a buff while gathering. Sadly crafting and gathering life's can't fight still :/
thanks for everything, I also think there is a new job. maybe he uses the spear as you say. I'm very happy with the game and I think it will be a great game, we hope to play it before World War III 😢
I wonder what they mean by random dungeon exploration..... Will the dungeons be randomly generated like in dark cloud 2 on ps2??? That would be amazing.
At first i was kinda hurt...but now thinking about it...i can get a PS5, GET life is strange and gothsm knights and then save so much by April and get a switch during black friday. Its kinda smart
Level 5 has to know that a lot of people never played the first Fantasy Life so... I'd say no, you don't *need* to play prior FL games. I'm not even sure if you can get the original dlc (now that the 3ds store has closed), which is where a LOT of gameplay happens. Maybe one day Nintendo or L5 will re-release the original with the DLC. If that happens, then I'd suggest you play it! In the meantime if you want, you could look up the Masters, Allies, Lives and the land of Reveria? Or you could watch a couple of playthroughs to get some ideas. Sidebar: I wish Level 5 would release something catering to newcomers to the game. Now that I look back at the scant promotion, it seems to be geared towards those who played the original. They're heavily banking on their nostalgia cache, which is kind of a blind spot.
Did you swallow your mic? Very quiet video compared to all the rest I've watched so far. I question "needs more content". Adding more of the same across several hrs could be considered more content, although this is certainly not what I'd consider great. Same could be said for adding things in a very shallow/simple way just for the sake of having them. Wish companies would stop providing release dates until they are done with the game and have tested it thoroughly. I am glad they aren't doing what Nintendo did with Animal Crossing: New Horizon, that is release a partial game and added in the rest of what was missing from previous games in the series to complete it.
