I Did EVERYTHING in Stardew Valley 1.6

- Before making guides on all of the new content, I needed to experience it within the natural progression of the game, so I sought to do EVERYTHING I could in the new update!
What resulted is a 50 hour long run where I got Perfection, unlocked all achievements, and filled in the brand new special collectibles page!

Hey so fun fact! It doesn’t matter what smoked fish/dried mushrooms/dried fruit you give the raccoon’s- despite asking for different varieties any kind counts for completing the quest.This isn’t on the wiki and I’ve never heard anyone mention it anywhere, but I found it out accidentally while playing through 1.6 and I’m not sure how no one else has noticed this yet? It’s worked across multiple different play throughs and on a friend’s account as well, so I’m pretty sure it’s a real thing. I suspect it’s similar to the exploit that let you use wallpapers in the community center… or is a side affect on how bulletin board and community center quests don’t usually specify an exact *type* of artisan good you’re putting in, and just cares that its jelly or whatever.
What!? I wonder if the same is true for juices or jellies

@@salmence100 - Juices, Preserves, Pickles, Dried Fruit, Dried Mushrooms, and smoked fish, but not crab-pot fish (can't turn in shrimp, if it asks for crayfish, for example).
All the little housing changes are so nice, I havent seen many people talking about them but like Jodies and Evelyns beds were both made into full beds to fit Kent and George. Just little things that make the game feel more complete and fun to explore :)

Mine were Propa and Papaya at the start, so now every animal has a name that starts with "P". I currently have two cats named Peachie and Pudding :)

And the animals were never seen again. Nice star fruit farm though :p
The purpose of that added side path to the quarry cave is the daily respawn of coal nodes, much like the stumps in the secret woods. They aren't guaranteed to have the same number or be in the same place, but after checking it every day for a year I only had a handful of days that didn't have at least one node, and most had 3-4.
That's still pretty useless
"The adventurer's guild is already closed..." Nope. 1.6, guild stays open until 2 AM. Now to continue watching to see if you inevitably point this out and thus make me look like an idiot for posting this and trying to be helpful. :D (Though I'll have to watch the rest later, sadly can't see the whole video right now.)

Best part of the green rain event the first year is Demetrius is outside his house wearing a hazmat suit! I mean of course he would have something like that, but still very unexpected to see!

The Meadowlands farm is the first time I ever bought a Well for practical purposes rather than purely decorative
I'm glad you randomized the reward chests and the community center, I JUST finished a 2-year 1.6 perfection without randomizing and it would've been boring to watch the same stuff again
I pretty much always remix now, adds a little bit of spice!

i recently got perfection on 1.6 and one of the very last things i needed was the skeletal hand for the museum, it took me FOREVER so seeing you get in on day 7 felt so personal 😭
I had to use the artifact totem 3 times to get it.😅

Just a heads up, you keep pronouncing Brazier "Brassieres". Brassieres is the full word for a bra (womens underclothes), and braziers is the fire light in the game. Tha "a" sound is different in the words.

Like all words, pronunciation depends on where you are in the world. There are several different pronunciations here in the UK alone, none are wrong.
English gets the word from French, but if you use the French pronunciation then it wouldn't be English!

I don‘t know if there is a connection between the controller gameplay and the frame rate, but at least in the first hour of the video it looks hard to play while it rains

omfg i didn't know you could get your fruit tree saplings back after cutting down the tree! i messed up the positioning of my pomegranate trees in the greenhouse and i was so distraught that I'd have to buy new ones but i don't actually!!!! oh this changes everything

Excellent video! The Pepper Rex hunt surprised me because I always get that one super quick, but I do go to the skull caverns on bad luck days. That seems to give you more infested floors and more monsters.
Daily luck doesn’t affect number of monsters or infested floors. Infested floors are predestined by Yoba (your game seed)
Regardless, I do think that hitting up Skull Cavern on bad (but not terrible) luck days is underrated. If you aren't hunting for the "good luck" things, no need to go on a good luck day.
I love the challenges you included alongside perfection! You could also add crafting every clothing item, getting every hat* and gifting every NPC each loved gift at least once to fill up their logs. Tbf I'm a dirty, cheating, tractor user with six ring slots, so I don't know how much time that would add in vanilla.

Love the video! Though at 21:30 you mention getting your first mystery box but when you were mining for dust sprites in the mines earlier in the video you got a mystery box as a drop, so it would have been your second mystery box!

Its weird you didn't notice it because you just got done talking about coal nodes and how you think they only spawn in quarry and volcano ... But the new side area in the quarry cave is FULL of both coal nodes and the gray rocks that guarantee stone drops from them. Its a super useful source of those 2 resources that you totally undersold.
I'm still to perfect my 1.6 run, but that's just because I'm really taking my time enjoying the new mechanics and decorating the farm before I wrap things up. This way the grinding for the golden clock isn't that painful. Also, the 1.6 is way more balanced than the previous updates, which make the game even more fun. Thanks for the video, it was a lovely ride!
i used a gold star truffle in the soup because I was wondering what I could put in the soup and got the achievement. It was a nice surprise to my day.

I've been so hyped to watch this I've been waiting til I had time to commit to it. As someone also doing a 1.6, perfection, animal-focused run I decided not to use Artisan and I really wish the other, animal-focused ones were even slightly compareable lol

I love the ice rod, but find it can be really annoying when you're trying to complete the slayer goals for flying enemies, cause it'll freeze them inside the walls, too far away for you to hit them
I feel like iridium ore is something I would def spend the money for the adventuring guild to retrieve. To valuable and I stink at the skull cavern. Can’t wait for the update to hit consoles

in regards to cooking, you can keep track of what you’ve made! if you open your inventory and go to collections and click on the plate icon, it will show you all the recipes you have and the ones you’ve made will be highlighted!
