Pretty decent price, considering the equipment will last him about 15 years or more ( and he could probably recover about 20-30% of cost by selling old equipment), and a decent gym membership of 35 a month would run 6,300 for that same amount of time, and gas for commuting to gym would probably add about 3,200 over 15 years (a little more than 4.00 per week). So a total cost of about 9,500
So assume 8,800 after maintenance with durability for over 15 years, and approx 20% cost recovery through resale, means net cost of about 7,100.
So you'd save thousands by having a home gym.

You might want to consider adding a spring between the punching bag and wall bracket to absorb the shaking of the bag. Otherwise the bracket screws might start to peel away from concrete after a while.
paint those ceiling rafters black and put LED light strips around the edge of the room.
or led strips on top of the beams so you cant see them
For the T-bar attachment mate, you can chuck it where the bars are stored on that Rack if the bench can be pulled out.

I have a one car garage kitted with a power rack with lat tower extension and bought all my stuff from fitness superstore just because I wanted to go into a store a look at equipment. Cost was roughly £2-3K in the end taking into account floor mats and weight plates. It's not quite budget but definitely not spinning cash from my palms 👍

for the T bar row, strengthshop actually sells a sick handle, it goes on the barbell sleeve and adds space between the bar and yourself so you can get a good ROM, also only costs like 35 pounds.

Joey you should brick up the garage door and put in some windows, and then knock down a small door sized section of the wall inside the garage to connect the gym directly to your house. Probably had this idea before but just wanted to say it anyway just in-case I can spark some inspiration if needed. My family have a similar house layout to yours and we did it with our garage, instead we converted it in to a cinema room but damn it completely transformed the house visually from the outside and also from the inside of course! Great videos mate, all the best.

Liking the video I have one of these cable machines for my PT studios but by a different supplier and for a good 2 years. wondered what it was for??? during the 1st lockdown I managed to put it to regular use attaching it and move it approx 6 holes from the floor and use it to stand on evenly in the middle (between the shaded. area on the bar) to. assist with chin ups !!! I have. clients who can't do chin ups. find it easier and. are starting to develop nicely. thought exactly the same thing about that bar tbf ... Nice homegym! Good work man! Can I suggest you to buy a combo leg curl-extension (atx for example) to set up near the rack (on the right) and Also a landmine for other barbell exercise? Never give up I follow your progress and I really appreticise your videos especially when you talk about MEAL Prep and recipes...
Winter is coming it's going to cold get in there, might need to think about insulating roof, door and maybe some heating...

Got most of my stuff from strengthshop, rack, barbell, plates etc. Fully recommend. Got the same power bar as JoeyD. One thing would say is if you can store your barbells horizontally its better long term but not a massive issue. Also good idea to get some 3 in 1 oil and a soft brush for maintenance every once in a while, mainly for getting the skin and chalk out of that crazy knurl on the power bar.
I think that pulley machine works perfectly in that colour for your gym set up myself. especially against that grey wall as the black might contrast too strongly? also you can always spray paint the pegs easily enough. whole gym looks sick though

It doesn't stick, probably because the amoebic pattern means there's not much actual surface contact. I tried a couple of different tapes and it just comes right off.

Yo Joe, love the setup mate, appreciate how you aren't a snob about your equipment and focus on versatility and functionality, bit like your rags ha.
Just thought I'd give my 2 cents on the dumbbell rack from an integrity standpoint, I'm not an engineer however I'm versed enough in fabricating and what not. It should be grand for a good few years even above the rating, but I'd give it a check with the weights off in a year or so just to see if the bar has bent at all and check the weld marks. Placing loads on and off things can and does wear them down even giant iron girders, and I know shred bundy will be using that rack like a mad man, so just watch your toes!

Yeah joeyd, we bought acrylic mirror for our gym, but it just warped. Luckily we had a older lad who installed a second mirror for us and gave us brand new safety mirrors. I don’t recommend acrylic mirror.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mags’ arms for having to hold that camera up and steady for Joe.
Have you tried the T-bar row attachment in the bar holder on the rack? I used a rack that had that before.
