Yo people! Just want to re-iterate a bit thank you to you all for helping my humble dreams come true! I am proper grateful and will do my best to provide some good content in thanks. As I said, I'll be doing another video going through all of the equipment I have, breaking down costs, do's and don'ts and tips for setting up a home gym yourself. Enjoy the video my friends.
Everything looks great you guys did a great job. Btw that black and green hoodie looks super fresh on you mate! 😎 So satisfying to finally have your own gym, congrats!
Pretty much any other TH-camr would've made this into 3-4 separate videos. I mean that as a compliment. You've condensed the whole process and given the people quality, not quantity. Absolute legend mate. Gym looks sick.
Ocean You get the same ad revenue (in theory), but you get less engagement. The algorithm favours frequency above all else. Even if all else was equal, TH-cam’s algorithm would favour you uploading 3x per week as opposed to 1x per week. But not all else is equal; you also get more views. If someone uploads 1 30min video per week and it gets 100k views, and 10k likes, if that person instead made 3x 10min videos per week, they would likely get 100k views and 10k likes per video just the same, so on net balance, plus TH-cam’s favouring frequency about all else, it would be much more beneficial (on paper) to split this into 3 videos.
The excitement on Joe's face when he realises the floor is done and this whole home gym thing is actually happening was great to see. What a project and what a dude.
you should have 'primed' the floor before you paint. The 'primers' job is to 'seal' the dust and stop the the floor from absorbing the water in the paint too quick soo that your paint goes much further.
@@JoeDelaneyy in the future, if you went ahead and painted those roof timbers (they're called 'rafters') black, with strips of led lights running around the top permiter of the garage, you would have one sick looking neon gym room.
@@JoeDelaneyy also to add, get the electrician back round and have him wire up your speakers to the main power supply. I know you're worried about hideous wires being on show, but they are literally only a few mm thick and come in black colour which easily be hidden by attaching it on the rafters (the wood that makes up your roof). Your gym is so awesome brother. I didn't think the black and gray color scheme would work, I thought it would shrink the gym, but it made the gym look roomier. Your attention to detail has gotten you your own gym. Holee freeeking Sheeeet. I have been watching Joey D's videos for about a year and half and just the transformation in the man himself in the last 4 years is absolutely insane. Gone from videos about grafting girls to - lets do some DIY in this house I bought. For someone that has not had much prior experience in DIY'ing this is absolutely insane. What was amazing was the amount of care he took at every single point to get things right and make them look good. Not Good enough - but GOOD. You have seriously achieved more during this COVID period than many of us have in the last 10 or 15 years. Keep pumping out these great videos and keep inspiring! Joey D - a sound lad.
I’ve done the exact same thing as this and also underestimated the amount of floor paint. Using a roller took more paint than a brush, so I resorted to that and scraped by. It was more time consuming but that’s what wives are for. I also settled for 2 coats. With the mats on top, it is ok so far. I used masonry paint for the bricks. Yours looks a lot better than mine, as I don’t have much patience and slopped it on. Good work
Solid effort joe. Your the most appreciative TH-cam there is out there and it's super refreshing to hear a genuine thank you to the followers cause most others are not sincere eith their work. Beat wishes to you new place!
Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.
Second video of yours I’ve watched mate, really refreshing watching a fitness related video that’s not just a bunch of fake enthusiasm etc. great stuff 👍
Respect. Loving these DIY style videos. Home projects always seem super intimidating. It's very motivating to see someone that usually doesn't make these kinda vids get it done
Yes mate, TH-cam is your friend when it comes to having a go at some DIY. Anything you want to do, there will be a video of somebody who knows what they're doing explaining it.
Congratulations Joe, it looks amazing. The only thing you installed that I personally wouldn’t is the treadmill. Running on the road is better and you can also use a jump rope on a rainy day
Wow I just built my backyard Gym and then watched this. It motivates me to workharder and smarter that someday i will also achieve that kind of home gym. Tnx for the motivation bro
Have a brother who's a car mechanic and they use break cleaner and jet hose to clean and its great to get rid of grease and dirt. Believe its pretty cheap as well if that helps anybody doing the same. Great gym tho..... thats a dream I have for the family home.
Excellent work. I've got the exact same rubber flooring, If you want to fill the gaps black silicon is perfect, you just need to put a little bit in the gap (no need to fill all the way down), then smooth it over and wipe away any excess.
I don’t even go to the gym man but I love your videos. Listening to your rants and Joey D waffles are really quite therapeutic! Keep working hard mate and doing what your doing, glad to see it’s paying off.
looks sweet bro. one thing i'd mention from experience is.... you should Chemset the bolts that hold the Boxing bag on the wall. because the force of impact that the bag takes from varying angles, causes the support arm to slightly wiggle/vibrate from side to side as you're hitting it... over time it will make the bolts literally walk their way out of the wall. its pretty easy to do and it will def save you a headache later.
Admittedly I wold love that space for my car, but wow that was a good conversion with some graft and savvy thinking, jealous to have that at your own house
