when this started playing at the start of the scene with angela and the knife, it actually created kind of a tense "will they won't they" situation. And then the piano starts playing that iconic melody. Honestly it made me a bit emotional. It's good to be back in Silent Hill.
Promise of the forgotten is a slick name. The play on the song itself being new and feeling different from the original song almost like it was played wrong because it was legit forgotten and thus weaved a new sound to go along with it. Love the idea of it all!

this music takes me somewhere else, I feel lost , abandoned in a creepy place with creepy faces. no one hears my tears , nor my coughs which are full of blood. I feel dizzy, staring out to a broken window. Am I ill? I don't really know anymore. I just like the sounds of the broken window , my soul that fled away , to the stars , on a full moon night.
After reading about the eternal cycle theory that just got made canon apparently, this remake its even better, because it explains why somethings are changed throughout the main story campaign.
Thankfully, it's not canon. If you think it's canon because of the photo puzzle, keep in mind that it’s been 20 years since the release of the original Silent Hill 2, so it could possibly just be a meta reference, which is how I prefer to interpret it. The developers never stated that the cycle theory is canon, although it's a good theory, it doesn't fit with Silent Hill at all.

I guess it's a marketing strategy by Konami so that people experience the game first, and then they'll release the soundtrack at the same time as the game and on platforms like Spotify or something similar. Even if they didn't announce it, Konami's marketing blunder once again, screwing up Bloober Team's work.
