I'm currently 15 years old. I always heard people commenting how the silent hill series were some of the best games they ever played, so I thought... Hey, I'm into retro games, and horror stories, I should probably play the game at least once. And so I did. I played silent hill for the first time last year, and keep in mind, I played it with a lot of hype, my standards were already really high. Yet, when I finished it, I was surprised, marveled, horrified, disturbed... This all happened last year, I'm now playing the third installment. Silent hill 2 is probably my favorite game ever, and the silent hill series has left a mark on me that won't be erased soon. As you said, it's an irreplaceable part of my life now. You probably don't even care about any of what I said, but I just wanted to mention it because this game is already almost twenty years old. Yet, it doesn't feel old. Silent hill, and especially silent hill 2, could have been released yesterday and the only difference would be that the graphics would be better. I feel like this game is so good that it can transcend time and generations. It was an important part of your life, it's an important part of my life, and hopefully will be an important part of my kids's lives (if I ever have any). The games, as well as this song, are timeless... Thank you, Silent team, Thank you, Akira Yamaoka and thank you for reading this.
Gbx produções There is just something about this series that sticks with you, as if it's part of your soul. Despite the disturbing horrors you face in the games there is an element of relatable realism to it that haunts the player for years after putting the game down. The fact that it can touch so many players, all with varying lives and experiences, speaks volumes and proves what a masterfully crafted treasure Silent Hill is. As odd as this may sound Silent Hill for me feels like home. The soundtrack in particular fills me with both peace and nostalgia, for what I don't know. Never has any other soundtrack made me long for a time and place I've never been alive in.
@@gbxproducoes857 currently doing the same I’m 17 years old. Since your comment is 3 years you probably an adult by now which is crazy. I wonder if you still listen to silent hill music.
POV: You are an unlucky nurse who happens to have a patient named Alessa the victim of a deranged cult and because of that cult's wrongdoings you've been drugged so much that you became an addict until the town literally gets filled with monsters and other entities. Scared as you are, you find a man that seems to be reliable, but in the end, you realize that you yourself were one of the monsters, tormented alive as you are. You seek help from that man, despite understanding full well that you have no hope left and even that man can't do anything.
Especially since you just have to watch it happen..you can't stop it and it hurts. I would go back through the game and think there has to be a way maybe i missed something but there isn't you just can't do anything.
I remember when I first saw this scene I ended up crying a lot. I just felt so bad for her. If I were Harry I would've given her that hug she wanted/needed
The most special thing about this song and this moment to me is...Well, you can feel the sadness without even having to play the game. Just hearing this song puts a lump in my throat, and watching Lisa stumble toward you, bleeding, silently begging for help...With or without context, you can feel the emotion. Even as someone who's never played a minute of Silent Hill, I can see how special it is.
It’s crazy how music can make you feel a certain way and bring you back to a certain time. Even though this is song is full of sorrow and depression… it is so beautiful. There’s a beauty in pain and death and shows that things and people can never be forgotten. Watched my older cousin play this game. Miss the old days!
Jacob Dudley Daniel Horodenko Allison Road is the new (Silent Hill game) and it did save the game ^_^ Check the gameplay of that game, You'll like it ;)
@Chaos of madness Harry could not do anything for her at that moment. Her being a Puppet Nurse meant certain doom for Harry. It was unfortunate Harry left her but he had to.
@Chaos of madness Believe me I wish it too. When I first played the game I always wondered why she was stuck in the Other Silent Hill and if we could find a way to get her out of there. When her death scene happened I was shocked and heartbroken, actually had tears and stayed in the room while this track played. I was in shock that I did not play for a couple of minutes. Then I wondered if I missed my chance to save her so I desperately looked online for ways to do it. When I found out there was no way and that she was doomed from the start, I realized my answer to my question on why she was stuck in the Other Silent Hill was there the whole time. Made me more heartbroken but made me love the game more for being tragic and one of the best horror games I have ever played.
"Lisa is one of my favorite characters in the series. What interested me about her was that this “damsel” type character turned out to just be another part of the town. At the same time, it was hinted that the “real” Lisa was a troubled individual. This is a cool dichotomy, because even the people in real life we think are sweet and innocent might have darker sides as well that we don’t let ourselves see. I think in Origins, we get to see this darker side and maybe it’s not pleasant for everyone...but that is still something “real” Lisa has to deal with, and maybe she dealt with it by never revealing that side to Alessa. Then again, since this is Silent Hill, maybe Climax saw a “different” Lisa than you did, and maybe I saw a third Lisa when I played the game." - Tomm Hulett
@@sanaanyaghini6253 He's right. Meet me in real life sometime. Sure, I dress like an animal and parade around, skateboard in my free time and laugh and smile like everything's fine. Then I head home and thoughts that most people don't even have in their lifetime sets in. Happy out there, broken inside.
Out of every Silent Hill game I've played so far, this has to be the most emotional scene for me, and it has the perfect piece of music to go along with it. It fits so perfectly and expresses how I feel about Lisa's death. The first time I watched this scene and when I heard Lisa crying after I shut the door, I wanted nothing more than to help her and get her out of there safely. This scene truly set heavy on my heart. Now every time I think of it, I feel the need to cry. Poor Lisa...
Still hits me to this day. Poor Lisa, wandering those empty hospital halls all alone. Taking pain killers to numb yourself from all of the monsters around you and inside your head. Loving someone that doesn't have that same love back. Finding them in your darkest moment, being consumed by the darkness and as you fall into that sorrowful pit, you go to your love to confide in them and instead of comforting you, they push you back and close the door behind them. Leaving you to fall from grace all alone, to rot into nothing more. Oh how my 9 year old brain was wrapped around a bend trying to understand all of it. How can life be this dark and bleak, to set us up to love another when they do not have that same love for you.
The original Silent Hill is greatness that can rarely be recreated if ever. It has one of the most fitting soundtracks and atmosphere to the scene which would have been better if not for the VA, and if it wasnt so out dated then it would still be a EXTREMELY scary game. Rest in perfection silent hill
If konami was smart they would have hired someone to remake this game, 2 and 3 they would make so much money... seeing those games with today's technology and the massive updated graphics would be so good I can't bear the think about it cause it will never happen
to be honest this game doesn't need a remake yes maybe this game doesn't look good technically but in terms of atmosphere level design art style it's awesome and that's what matters in the graphics in my opinion
Even if they did remake the games I wouldn't give them my money anyway. Fuck Konami. NO one should buy their shit anymore. They clearly don't care about their fans, their employees or the art anymore. They just want to make fucking pachinko garbage to make money.
+Sherhan Mahmud Not exactly, Silent Hills was cancelled and PT got deleted from the PS Store, but I get what you're saying mate, and I feel ya. Deeply T-T
Haha There was a few jump scares not just two now thats weird you say only two xD I watch the walkthrough so many times I should be able to name them all and I can even some differences do to the players reactions and such... First walk down the hallway nothing... second walkthrough lisa's picture is on the floor as you realize its the same hallway (atmospheric) jumpscare 1 the door is locked and the bathroom door banging can be heard the door opens after you try to go back through the door you came... walkthrough three lisa's pic is on the wall again(with the pieces scattered in the hallway which in the previous hallway walkthrough if you looked at it on the ground it read R3 so you instantly click R3 to learn the zoom in which triggers certain events to happen) (atmospheric) jumpscare 2: You heard the banging as you walk pass the bathroom door the door opens... walkthrough 3 one of the lights is off in the hallway the door shuts as you get close to it the bathroom door opens (atmospheric and ghost lady combo) jumpscare 3: you hear crys from a baby and as you look into the bathroom (with R3) she shuts the door fast and it's a shock. the door opens... walkthrough 4 a light turns on and another (I believe ) turns off you walk down the hallway (The Hi) Jumpscare 4: you see the ghost and hear her crys and sobs walk toward her ({atmospheric/environment manipulation} jumpscare 5) and she disappears the lights go out you muster the courage to continue still hearing her cry location unknown just to have the lights turn on scaring you and to see a sea of scattering roaches... So yea 2 jumpscares don't make me laugh... but it fit perfectly maybe some people don't recognize these as jumpscares but they are but was used cleverly and MGSV had a few good scary moments two...
The music of silent hill is simply phenomenal.. the first 3 games evoke such emotions from deep within.. this theme is beautiful.. it makes me think of all those I've lost yet I still remain here.. I wallow in sorrow haunted by bad memories.. thank you silent hill for understanding my pain.
Akira Yamaoka's music is an absolute masterpiece! His ability to create hauntingly beautiful melodies and atmospheric soundscapes is unparalleled. From the eerie and melancholic tracks in the Silent Hill series to the intense and adrenaline-pumping beats in Shadows of the Damned, Yamaoka's compositions always manage to capture the essence of the games perfectly. His fusion of industrial rock, ambient, and experimental elements creates an immersive experience that lingers long after the game is over. Truly a genius in the realm of video game music!
This feels like the music that plays when you finally say goodbye to somebody you wish you could save from their darkness, but can't. Having to accept that they're gone, no longer a part of your life. It's heartbreaking, and a pain I live with every day.
Recently replayed this on a trip to my moms house, my nephew has a PS2 and a friend from work lent me the game. I had totally forgot how intense the Lisa aspect of the story was. When I got to this part and the song started I just helplessly began weeping. These games are so good at latching onto your psyche its amazing. Feel blessed to have grown up on this franchise.
I wish they'd reboot or remake this game somehow..Just wish there was something that could've been done to save Lisa or at least comfort her in her final moments.
TheNickTheM No. Why would anyone want to see the same thing over again except with better graphics? Boring. Games like Metal Gear Twin Snakes is a good ex of what happens when they try to go down that road. Castlevania Lords of Shadow,Devil May Cry,and many other reboots make it perfectly fine to retell the tales.
I personally found the cutscene of Lisa dying by bloodshed in the small room really sorrowful and creepy, although I've never played any of the games of the Silent Hill series myself.
I know I'm super late, but when I first heard this song in an old youtube playthrough I had to listen to the full soundtrack. And... it was like my life was flashing before my eyes, it truly sparked somethin within me... it captured something raw and untouched in my soul. Something that I haven't felt a long, long, while...
"I get it now, why I'm still alive even though everyone else is dead, I'm not the only one still walking around." "I'm the same as them, I just hadn't noticed it before." "Stay by me Harry, please, I'm so scared, help me, save me from them, please... Harry?
***** he pushed her away i think because he was worried about being infected himself...he did not want to suffer the same fate...he met lisa a few times, but did not truly know her...why risk his life for someone bleeding from their entire body?

I only recently (03.08.2023) started playing the Silent Hill Games and of course started with SH1 and I immediately knew that this song was a beloved one when I heard it in the cutscene. I am not gonna lie, for how old SH1 is, it still was an amazing and fun game, even if a short one! I am currently (08.08.2023) going through SH2 and am planning to the play the others after of course as well..if I had known wat an amazing franchise Silent Hill was, I would have played them sooner. Much Love to this amazing Franchise and it's great music ❤
I cried when I couldn't save Lisa, all because she didn't stay away from the basement like Harry asked.. :.( (I was 9 when I played, props to my older brother for having all the games)
She would have died eventually. She was infected like the rest (as shown in her diary entries that she was taking the drugs) and it was only a matter of time before she realised she was already one of the walking dead...
One of my favorite things about this song (and a lot of Yamaoka's work generally) is how it just... ends. The abruptness of it feels so unsettling and almost alarming, it really does the horror elements justice.
I'm so fuckin mad at myself for watching a play through of Silent Hill. Now I'll never get to play the game with the same sense of mystery that comes with Silent hill games.
this song plays on a fall season day. rich sunset, 18:00 o' clock, nostalgic feelings of the old neighborhood, and young memories, when everyone used to be around, the only stress in world was deciding what to do now half are gone forever, some things never give that feeling they used to. your health has naturally deteriorated, rugged desert skin, grey gradient streaks of hair, mental acuteness blurs, you can't handle body stress as you used to. things moved on, the neigborhood doesn't even look the same, and soon 30 years more, unrecognizable. as the song plays, you head to the local cemetery, one day too, you shall be this song.
Well, now she’s a playable character in Dead by Daylight. Even though she is considered as a skin for Cheryl Mason. I’m so happy for you, Silent Hill fans, there is a holiday on your street.
Lisa begging Harry for help while bleeding uncontrollably and dying was the saddest shit I've seen in a game considering that there was nothing Harry could do to help.
I played this game for the first time (15.04.2023). I loved this scene, Learning about what Lisa had to endure really made me feel for her.. This music is simply amazing
Silent Hill is pretty much still alive and well even after many years with the announcement of Silent Hill 2 remake and the Silent Hills cancellation. But this song will remain one of best songs ever made from a horror video game.
I've only ever played silent hiil 2, but holy crap i love it definetly one of my all time games. Howerver after hearing this tune fomr sh 1 I have the sudden urge to play it. To me this feels like its conveying so many emotions at once, sadness, forgivness, lonliness, dredd all in a happy and almomst heartful, warm kindo of way. This song truley is a part of something beautiful.
I remember playing SH for the first time and dealing w/ those puzzles. The one b4 this room was a pain for me and it took hours. And when I finally solved it and got this scene, I was numbed up like "All that work for this? Wow, that's so messed up I can't even react properly." Like waking from a nightmare into another nightmare and all hope is lost.
back in a time when videogames did not pretend to be masterworks by their mere technical factors, but they were Masterworks themselves, it's just a matter of intensity, nowadays there's no intensity in emotions as people had 20 years ago, that's a fact to me, i would blame useless technology devices for a good part of it, if you don't agree i don't care:)
Fam you just need to look a little harder. Ever play Spec Ops The Line or Lone Survivor? They're both great games that keep the Silent Hill mindset alive.
+Tony Gazza The technical limitations of 3D games during that era also necessitated that developers devise far more creative solutions to mask those limitations. Early horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil relied more heavily on their sound composition and music to create mood, as well as intensify their moments of terror, where visuals alone would not fully live up to the task. Obviously there is much to admire from the current stable of talented devs working today who have made immense strides in their visual design and/or performance capture, working to further bridge that gap with reality insofar as looks are concerned, but for me, one of the benchmarks for appreciating any great piece of entertainment or art is when a creator or team of creators is able to accomplish something spectacular despite their limits, often using those shortcomings to their own creative benefit.
Tony Gazza You should play Souls games. Those capture what makes videogames an art form. Just nevermind the community, most of them are pretty toxic except Bloodborne fans.

This is seriously one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. It doesn't make feel depressed. No, it makes me feel sad. Just...sad.
lol you need to find sadder music
Especially since you just have to watch it happen..you can't stop it and it hurts. I would go back through the game and think there has to be a way maybe i missed something but there isn't you just can't do anything.
Awesomeness 101 Maybe we should just be sadder
This sound is both sad and creepy. Favorite.
I remember when I first saw this scene I ended up crying a lot. I just felt so bad for her. If I were Harry I would've given her that hug she wanted/needed
Late but he was about to at the last split second, when she pulls away
had to stop the music because the feels started coming back too strong

The most special thing about this song and this moment to me is...Well, you can feel the sadness without even having to play the game. Just hearing this song puts a lump in my throat, and watching Lisa stumble toward you, bleeding, silently begging for help...With or without context, you can feel the emotion. Even as someone who's never played a minute of Silent Hill, I can see how special it is.
"You have it all."
"A Father, a Mother, a universe to call home."
"I don't."
It’s crazy how music can make you feel a certain way and bring you back to a certain time. Even though this is song is full of sorrow and depression… it is so beautiful. There’s a beauty in pain and death and shows that things and people can never be forgotten. Watched my older cousin play this game. Miss the old days!
R.I.P Silent Hills

So sad.. she deserve to be saved from this nightmare. RIP Lisa.
We love you Lisa
Hi stll alive?
my sweet Lisa

The 3rd one felt at times like a remake of the original.
Wut?
Even if they did remake the games I wouldn't give them my money anyway. Fuck Konami. NO one should buy their shit anymore. They clearly don't care about their fans, their employees or the art anymore. They just want to make fucking pachinko garbage to make money.

The moment when Silent Hills was cancelled...
+Sherhan Mahmud Not exactly, Silent Hills was cancelled and PT got deleted from the PS Store, but I get what you're saying mate, and I feel ya. Deeply T-T
+Sherhan Mahmud how foolish, nothing of value whas lost with it, one could clearly see that it wast just a regular jump scare game.
***** You can tell Hideo wanted to work on Silent Hills. Look at my previous comment I was so excited I used the wrong 2(Too to two)
+Sherhan Mahmud Konami played us like a damn fiddle!!!
Этот момент я никогда не забуду
Пожалуй один из самых грустных моментов в играх
I will never get tired of this song.
"please.. Harry..stay with me"
Akira Yamaoka's music is an absolute masterpiece!
Feel blessed to have grown up on this franchise.
i see u on every comment section . Stay safe man
I wish they'd reboot or remake this game somehow..Just wish there was something that could've been done to save Lisa or at least comfort her in her final moments.
TheNickTheM
no I do mean reboot. If you're talking about shattered memories..that game was mediocre.
TheNickTheM
No. Why would anyone want to see the same thing over again except with better graphics? Boring. Games like Metal Gear Twin Snakes is a good ex of what happens when they try to go down that road. Castlevania Lords of Shadow,Devil May Cry,and many other reboots make it perfectly fine to retell the tales.
what happened to Lisa at the end?
They did they just fucked up what silent hill stood for
Mashael ahmed She understood that she's a monster, actually... and she drag Kaufman with her. Where to? Into dark depths of Silent Hill...
В детстве было очень жаль этого персонажа,а сейчас повзрослев понимаю насколько трагична ее судьба. 😢😢😢😢
I personally found the cutscene of Lisa dying by bloodshed in the small room really sorrowful and creepy, although I've never played any of the games of the Silent Hill series myself.
This song always makes me think of my old pal Benny Harvey. RIP, miss you big man. Gone, but not forgotten.
Lisa, probably my favorite character from SH franchise.
"I get it now, why I'm still alive even though everyone else is dead, I'm not the only one still walking around."
"I'm the same as them, I just hadn't noticed it before."
"Stay by me Harry, please, I'm so scared, help me, save me from them, please... Harry?
You just HAD to write that didn't you?
Now I can't stop the tears TT__TT
***** he pushed her away i think because he was worried about being infected himself...he did not want to suffer the same fate...he met lisa a few times, but did not truly know her...why risk his life for someone bleeding from their entire body?
i am stil listening this song over and over through the years. Now i'm 31 and still reading this comments...Thank you all. I am feeling just like you! You are my true brothers and sisters. Thank you for this moment in life. For us all
This is one of most hopeless songs I have ever listened recently and Lisa's final moments... It just breaks your heart.
this dark game + this scene = tear drop
my ex best friend used to love this instrumental. he isn't alive in my life anymore but he's in this song and I'm here to remember our friendship 💔

You will always live in my heart lisa
R.I.P. Lisa Garland and all this whole franchise...
...Why Konami? Why do you hate us so much? 😢
She was like the others on the hospital.. but she realize it a little bit later
She turned into a nurse puppet
She’s already dead before you even meet “her”.
@@floofzykitten5236 I guess it was probably her addiction to the prescription drugs that did her in
This scene was so effective, I think it’s mostly from the amazing voice acting from the lady that voiced Lisa, it’s very upsetting.
How I’d describe this song to feel like is nostalgia of a hope that once was there but exists no more.

I know that feel bro. Did the same with MGS but fortunately didn't with Silent Hill. Such an amazing game, I loved it.
Yeah me too, but at least have the Silent hill 2 and 3 HD for PS3 and Xbox 360 sooooo.....
***** I'm lucky, i got into both series in the same year - these games are amazing.
Truly amazing! Can't wait to play the second and third one.
***** I'm starting the second one today.
this song plays on a fall season day. rich sunset, 18:00 o' clock, nostalgic feelings of the old neighborhood, and young memories, when everyone used to be around, the only stress in world was deciding what to do
now half are gone forever, some things never give that feeling they used to. your health has naturally deteriorated, rugged desert skin, grey gradient streaks of hair, mental acuteness blurs, you can't handle body stress as you used to.
things moved on, the neigborhood doesn't even look the same, and soon 30 years more, unrecognizable.
as the song plays, you head to the local cemetery, one day too, you shall be this song.
Well, now she’s a playable character in Dead by Daylight. Even though she is considered as a skin for Cheryl Mason. I’m so happy for you, Silent Hill fans, there is a holiday on your street.
... Cuando vi la escena con ésta melodía casi me suelto a llorar. Pobre de Lisa

un tema muy hermoso. 💚
The music alone makes you feel empathy for the character. That's what Silent Hill is all about.
Well, at least in a way she survived to be in Dead By Daylight!!! Lisa lives on!!! She will never be forgotten!!!
Here after finishing the SH2 remake, we desperately need a SH1 remake next.

Lisa begging Harry for help while bleeding uncontrollably and dying was the saddest shit I've seen in a game considering that there was nothing Harry could do to help.
One of the best scenes I've ever seen in a horror game. Just so sad and beautiful and surprisingly scary.
Every time I hear this melody I just burst out of tears, I’m not even joking
una canción llena de desesperación y tristeza... una obra de arte del maestro Yamaoka...
I’ve never had a video game song make me feel so many different emotions at once before.. This has got to count as art.
This song truley is a part of something beautiful.
please do play it someday - there are great video game emulators online that allow you to play SH1
Crazy to think out that out of such a dark, cold, lonely game comes such a beautiful melody. Horror games tend to have the best music
I felt so bad for her when Harry pushed her away when she needed him most, even though she stayed by him when he needed her :(
Maybe she would have done to him what she later did to Kaufmann.
Bluntly...this scene really hurt my feelings and left me motionless....i never felt so bad for a character
I love playing this tune on the piano. It’s so sad, tragic, yet haunting and beautiful ♥️🎹
This song brings the good old days 😭 beautiful nostalgia
Obviously there is much to admire from the current stable of talented devs working today who have made immense strides in their visual design and/or performance capture, working to further bridge that gap with reality insofar as looks are concerned, but for me, one of the benchmarks for appreciating any great piece of entertainment or art is when a creator or team of creators is able to accomplish something spectacular despite their limits, often using those shortcomings to their own creative benefit.
dyldragon1 Spec ops was incredible, i usually dont play shooters but the story was incredible.
Tony Gazza You should play Souls games. Those capture what makes videogames an art form. Just nevermind the community, most of them are pretty toxic except Bloodborne fans.
As a person speaking from 3 years into the future...I agree completely especially with the people not feeling as intensely as before.
Whenever I’m sad, whenever I feel not cared for abandoned.. I come back here..
Lisa Garland one of the best caracters ever created. Cry in 98 and cry still
Absolutly. I played silent hill 26 years a go and i cry whith this scene then and i just cryed whith this two minuts a go... Unbelieveble
You know that a game is legendary that after 10 years you still listen to it's theme, and remember the whole game.
