It`s pretty nice, but i found the original more haunting and far far better to be honest. I would like to have the option to get the OG music options like R.E 2 remake did for my second run Y_Y

The game it`s good tbh, just i cant understand some decitions, for example, why apartments are so linear, i mean, you have 5 doors in a wing, 2 are non accesible 1 is closed with a key, in one of the accesible doors is the key, right in front of the closed door it opens xD lol (old clock room where dead james on the tv) . this got so bizzare as zumo can 2 setps from the garbage?. And the worst of all, what happened with the unnerving music? like "return" or "nurse piper" , they got rid of this kind of music and left just a few ones. A diluted kind of those sounds activate while you fight, if you kill the enemie or runaway, it dissapear, so the thension is gone, and im playing it on hard where enemies last so much more. lol

Lament of Heavens Night has such a Lost Highway / Bowie vibe to it.🖤 My gawd...I'll always love the originals but... these are so dreamy and moving and beyond expectations. So amazing...😢
Promise of the Forgotten made me immediately tear up when it kicked in to the recognisable piano, but my god - I didn't think that you could improve on perfection, but this version is so haunting and those initial almost tentative few notes drastically portray Angela's fragility and innocence lost. Breathtaking.
They could have made the remake any way they wanted, but if Akira Yamaoka didn't do the music, it wouldn't be Silent Hill. I'm glad he's back with new music that sounds so familiar.

My goooooodnesss, the music makes me want to get the remake already, which is exactly what got me into Silent Hill in the first place. I still think the original soundtrack is better because it just fit the atmosphere so well. But this on its own is outstanding, I love the drums a lot. Some of the songs now have actual people vocalizing and singing which I think sounds so amazing. How does Akira Yamaoka do itttt?
This game already had me feeling like it was a strong contender against the original before getting to the apartments. I haven't even finished them yet and I already think this game can definitely stand right beside the original. I don't say that lightly either. I'm 33 years old and I feel like I am 13 all over again pissing myself in fear while I play this in the dark.
They removed Pianissimo Epilogue! 😭 I’m crushed and devastated. Also Promise Reprise is sooo much better. But Laura Plays the Piano got kicked in the process.
Where’s is “A world of madness”, “Prisonic fairytale”, “Blank Fairy” and Peace and Serenity” those where my favorites from the original yet nobody is saying anything about these songs being absent from the remake 😩

@@kulsevdasi it's a side scrolling engine where you can build your fangame in the style of Streets of Rage, and so there's a Silent Hill fan game in that style. It's a nightmare though, play it only if you hate yourself.

Exactly! That's what I'm thinking too. That's what I talked about in the other two videos I made (The remake vs OG ost comparisons - Null Moon and Heaven's Night) I mean, the new soundtrack is really good, just doesn't reflect the f**ked up, sick and dark atmosphere of the SH 2 game.
This is a very nice compilation! But both you and are wrong about that. Besides the fact that we are still waiting for two different 3-part comps to get released (Silent Hill 2 Original Soundtrack being the more orchestral one, then Extra Edition with the more ambient and industrial tracks)... Black Fairy for example will be featured on neither, no. But not because it isn't in the game. I did hear it in Lakeview Hotel in the remake - In fact, in it's original 2001 version! Please understand that Akira Yamaoka created a lot of this music using only samples of pre-recorded sound effects or instruments, not his own recordings. He most likely doesn't have access to his old sample CDs and programs from the late 90s/early 2000s anymore. There will be more examples of Bloober using the old versions, but Black Fairy immediately comes to mind. You are however right that these remade tracks are less on the ethereal or spooky side and more easy listening this time.

The rock tracks might have better audio quality, but it feels like the guitarists just don’t have the same skill as the original. Plus, they swapped out some of the classic synth samples for strings, which isn’t an improvement. The synths added that otherworldly, eerie vibe to the game, and losing that takes away from the atmosphere. Overall, music and sound design are excellent, and the game as well.

I prefer the old version, as the new arrangements are a bit pushy. Too rich. The old version was simpler, minimalist and melancholy. And a lot of the music has been cut, removed.
what did they done to my favorite original soundtrack.. the sound and atmosphere are completely cut off and reduced in soft and meowlodic non atmospheric thing. where is the creepy chorus in twin pyramid, the anguish, heavy rock and oppressive sounds completely gone in this happy family friendly silent acoustic hill..

haha no no they didn't update anything. It's the same 10 tracks (Disk 1) on all platforms. The other 2 Disks are going to be released in November as far as I know. The extra tracks you find in here are tracks extracted from the game itself. As for scam? Yes, I agree. I also expected the whole OST album when I purchased the Deluxe Edition, not a (Disk 1) of the OST. It's really frustrating.
Honesty the remake ost kinda disappointing, it didnt have half the og songs on it , which is strange because they are sprinkled here and there through a few places in the game, my favourite moment is when it plays the Blank Fairy remake at the end of the game walking through the resort

I personally prefer the original versions of null moon and heaven's night. The vibe was more eerie, mysterious, and sad. Whereas for the Maria scenes in the remake, they seem to be trying a bit too hard to go along with Maria's seductiveness with the heavy bass and slow drums.
