No questioning who his dad is. Not just the same eyes, but the same expressions. You're looking fit and happy, not such a new mum now. Its a good thing. Thanks for the video, good soul food.
Lovely to see you back on line. The Forgotten Highway is similar to lots of Northland roads lol. You did really well on your epic drive! Looking forward to more updates - take care 👍
Wow Reece has grown so much , and is a little chatter box . Glad you got to go off in your caravan with your little Reece . Hayden must have been delighted to see his little family 🥰💕thanks for sharing x
We did the Forgotten Highway the other way from Stratford to Taumarunui - the fish and chips at the Whangamōmona pub were awesome. Its a long drive but the best plan is just to take it slow and enjoy the scenery.
Coming from inglewood (home) Ive driven the opposite way a few years back. News is they going to tar seal the entire way through The Forgotten Highway.
I love Stratford. I've never driven that road but seen some awesome pics and videos of trucks going thru that tunnel. Reece walks like his dad lol and his face has changed. Looks grown up. You're an awesome mum. ❤
If you do the Forgotten again….you used to be able to camp behind the Whangamōmona pub at the old school and there are some great walks from there and a disused road that takes you to another old tunnel. We still have our Whangamōmona passports from the pub where me and my boys met a bunch of friendly locals. Outside amongst a few cars, gumboots and hiking boots there were our mountain bikes, some Harleys and a Norton, some horses tied to the rail, some farm dogs on the back of a ute and an enormous articulated truck - all the owners having lunch & chatting inside :)
We did this route a few years back (not with a caravan though!) and I was mildly underwhelmed with the first section running East to West. The section after Whangamomona is pretty though. We even tried to find the fish fossils in the tunnels, but alas, couldn't find them. So pleased to see you and your little boy on the road again :)
We drove this in 2014, loved the route and it wasn’t as bad as we expected, but that is comparing it to UK roads! Coming back to NZ this month, staying on the Coromandel and Taupo.
I’m hunting for videos of people just setting up and getting comfy in a caravan, where to put things away. Have to be efficient 24/7. Living in a caravan reminds me of a strict keto diet lol
The roads in wales might be abit up and down but the views are to die for! At least they are nice and smooth and well kept, unlike England where the roads are awful!! Full of dangerous potholes to wreck your car!!!!!
THIS DRIVE should only be attempted when fully rested and ALERT fur sur..... Hi Karen..... I have binge watched ur channel from when u returned from UK.... not sure I will go back further thou cos I wanna see the offgrid property flourish..... and I like Hayden's skills which look as good as mine accept he has the brawn and the muscle ass he is still young. The house walls was a dicey affair thou and should have used help from the 1st wall. It sucks u have a very short window to build the house but u still need income to survive..... next time stay with Hayden at work cos life is getting too hard without him around u, u can always go back to the property every 2 weeks to check on it for a cple of days during the week or when Hayden has his real busy days..... which could be a good balance for u 3.
I’m always glad to see my New Zealand ‘friend’ again and see how she and her family are getting on.
Nice to see you again karen🙏 and with your caravan 🥳

Thanks for the drive Karen. I now know not to do this with our small caravan. From a female senior caravan driver. Was wonderful to see everything
You look so much happier - and enjoying our landscape, abet the Forgotten H'way - and playgrounds are the way for now, for you....
Lovely video, thanks for sharing 👍 🥰

Great to see you out and about, some awesome scenery through that road, it was nice to see.
Coming from inglewood (home) Ive driven the opposite way a few years back. News is they going to tar seal the entire way through The Forgotten Highway.
As scary as that time in the loaner Bailey on those UK roads in the Lake District?!
Reece is Hayden’s double h is getting so big take care xx

It’s great to see you again! Hasn’t Reese grown …

PS, loved Stratford, we live just outside the UK one
What happened to the vintage caravan ?
Yes it's a bit of a challenge alright. But one of those trips well worth taking. Many small ghost towns off side roads from H43
Oh gosh don't let reece play with gas stove.!!!
I enjoyed Reece's little song just past 11:00 in. Seems to have two very similar verses.
Karen, hello, how old is REEDE,now,he is growing. Please keep him from the stove
Looks like you needed to tilt your headlamp beam down with the van on the back.
Forgotten highway, still in much better condition than any UK major road. He is looking do much like his dad .
no way would i have taken my caravan down that road fair play to you
The mountain roads made it look like Mickey Mouse's Caravan holiday 🙂

OMG you must have lived a very privileged life...That road was just a sunday drive????
When you mentioned Reese’s daycare I thought you said racist daycare😮. I’m from the USA my Australian hearing is not the best😊
Bit like driving along the roads in Wales
