Why Andre wasn’t the main character or even just the love interest still confuses me *to this day*

@llSarall Okay, so I’m not sure if you watched every season or probably just didn’t notice, so I’ll just see if I can clear up something up. Throughout the show we see many girls try to get with Beck or throw themselves over Beck, and although that wasn’t the case, the first thing Jade sees when meeting Tori is her rubbing her arm on her boyfriend’s chest. It was a harmless misunderstanding until Jade took it too far with the coffee, but it’s obvious that she would’ve done it to any other girl as well had they done what she saw Tori do. And then, as revenge, Tori kissed Beck in front of their entire class. Beck is a dumbass who could’ve said said no or anything else besides yes. And that is why Jade does not like Tori. Because she sees Tori as every other girl in school, besides Cat, that’s trying to get with Beck. That was all up until the Platinum awards when Tori didn’t kiss Beck when he was broken up with Jade. Jade saw Tori in a new light after that. So she didn’t hate her anymore, although she still acted snarky and sarcastic with her.

Back in high school, a random student snatched a bottle of milk from an annoying tsundere wannabe after she tried to pour it on a guy for not being a simpish punching bag for her. The look of embarrassment on her was gold especially after the wannabe tsundere's friend slapped her upsides the head.
That happened to me once while I was walking in the street and I froze for like 10 seconds and the water kept coming. It's shock, but I still hate it on TV.

I feel like all the hate towards Tori is unjustified. The whole beef with her and Jade started with her accidentally spilling coffee on Beck, and she tries to clean it off, at the end her hand kind of lingers there and she and Beck make eye contact for a few seconds. Tori obviously doesn't know he has a girlfriend because she doesn't know anyone here, so she thinks it's okay to do this, and he seems to be reciprocating (we'll get into Beck's flirting problems later). Jade sees him and her and makes it clear to Tori that they're in a relationship. Tori backs off now that she knows he's taken, but Jade puts a target on her back and makes sure she gets back at Tori for *unknowingly* flirting with her boyfriend. She picks her for the improv group, makes her humiliatingly act like a dog, and pours coffee on her head! (All of this to a girl who didn't even do anything other than talk to Beck and try to rub coffee off of him)
I'm not saying this justifies Tori coming to kiss Jade's boyfriend the next day, but we should also keep in mind, 1.) Beck knew he was in a relationship and he kissed her (he literally says "let's do it"). Some of the blame should go to Beck and not just Tori for that kiss. 2.) it was only acting, it wasn't like she kissed Beck in real life. And 3.) Jade kept trying to verbally insult Tori until she eventually got fed up and kissed Beck. (It doesn't seem like Tori planned to kiss him before, maybe just show up Jade at acting).
Several times during the show, we also see Jade show that she's insecure, and self-destructs her relationship by pushing Beck away and being cruel to any girls who dare to even talk to him. It's okay to be insecure (I have my insecurities too) but you can't let your insecurities turn you into a bad person.
So it's clear that Beck, Tori and Jade all made their mistakes. But we also need to remember how much their characters grow towards the end. Jade and Tori become friends. Tori even helps Jade get Beck back, and even when Jade and Beck are broken up, she still tries to respect Jade by not wanting to even go out with him as friends to honour their friendship. Jade becomes less insecure, but Beck respects Jade's wishes to stop flirting with other girls. They all had their flaws but that made them human. Sorry this is so long lol, I just had a lot to say.

I feel like this show was more keen in incorporating straight white males as extras in the first couple of episodes
1) The pilot was filmed in March 2009, about a full year before its official premiere after the 2010 Kids Choice Awards.
2) "Make It Shine", the show's opening theme, was sampled from an unused song from the Canadian TV show _Instant Star_ titled "Just Remember Me". It would have been used in that show's finale had it gotten a proper fifth and final season.
3) Before _Victorious_ debuted, Hollywood Arts High School served as the bad guys' hideout in the 2006 TV movie _Drake & Josh Goes Hollywood._
4) When the show ended in 2013, the character of Cat Valentine was brought over to the _iCarly_ spin-off _Sam & Cat_ that year, where it is revealed that Cat dropped out of Hollywood Arts to live with her grandmother in San Francisco.
5) Along with the debacle regarding the _iCarly_ theme song in 2007, _Victorious_ is usually argued as Nickelodeon's event horizon for never going back to using popular songs for their live-action scripted shows ever again.
Most of these aren't true lol. Cat still attends Hollywood Arts in Sam & Cat, there is even an episode where she is at that school. She never dropped out.
The thing about the original theme song in season 5 can't be true either. There isn't even an actual season 4. The show was suddenly and abruptly cancelled after they filmed season 3, so Nickelodeon decided to split S3 into another season. So if anything, the producers expected a season 4, not 5. And they didn't have any plans for a finale, which was confirmed by several cast members.
And about Nickelodeon never using popular songs in their shows again. How does Nickelodeon know if a theme song is popular when the show hasn't even premiered yet?

As someone who has taken like one improv class in her life, I would just like to point out that in improv, we generally don't use actual props, we "improvise" and mime imaginary props, so I'd say Jade definitely failed that scene assignment by reaching for that literal coffee cup... and for assaulting another student with it...
Now that Alex mentions the hierarchy of theater kids annoyance, I remember musical kids being annoying in how obsessed with musicals, but improv was probably the only theater class I can describe as traumatic (it was a college class, not high school, but still). Got some great experiences out of improv, but can't describe the other theater classes as traumatic

I remember the auditions for this show down in Atlanta. They had us waiting in super long lines, deliver a few lines of dialogue and then kicked us out. Spent about 3 hours in line and 1-2 minutes in front of the casting people. Fun times.
The people I found obnoxious in school were the “rebellious” students. I had plenty of interactions with theater kids but none got on my nerves as much as the kids that didn’t listen to the teacher. I was a bit of a teacher’s pet, but I was also way too quiet to speak up

I still can’t believe how much they had Ariana Grande and Liz Gillies as back up singers. It’s a bit unrealistic that Victoria had all the solos when she didn’t even originally go to that school in the first place and her voice didn’t even come close to the chops the other two girls had.
It’s super unrealistic how she got all the main parts. Even in that one episode when Jade and Cat did that duet at that karaoke club. They still found a way for Tori to get a solo.
My Channel i’m pretty sure the reason for this is because the show was based around tori. we don’t know what the other characters did outside of her story. they could’ve been broadway actors for all we know, but it was tori’s show, so they focused on her
KoalaApoc I’m thinking that the other characters were just set to be Tori’s friends who go to the same school as her, or people who go to the same school as her. That Tori was set to be the newer person surrounded by die-hard theatre kids.
The show was created and developed for Victoria Justice. Whatever your opinions are about the other actresses is irrelevant. About the voices, Victoria's was always my favorite. I never understood what the big deal was with Ariana Grande.

As a Stage Manager and former Victorious fan one of the more upsetting things about this show is how it normalizes on stage intimacy. In real theater you have someone who's job it is to coordinate intimacy and make sure your actors are okay with what they are being directed to do. But in Victorious you can just grab another actor and kiss them without any consent from the actor outside of the scene. And I genuinely thought that was a normal theater thing until I started working with real directors. Like Beck's character agreed to kiss Tori but that doesn't insure Beck himself was actually consenting in the situation. In the real world this is a serious conversation all actors and directors need to have. Especially when you are talking about highschool kids. But apparently at this school it's just normal to pressure your scene partners in to intimacy without setting or respecting any boundaries. Wonder why a certain writer/director/creator would have a vested interest in making sure young people's personal boundaries are ignored 🙄

I've always hated laugh tracks. Comedies shouldn't have them. Let the audience react to funny lines. Don't play canned laughter to tell people "You should be laughing at this." Canned audio of people saying "wooooooooo" over kissing scenes is annoying too.

I love how Trina was written to be a bad character but she was a lot more entertaining then Tori ever was in every scene she appeared in.
I'm convinced Daniella Monet was more talented than Victoria Justice so the Nickelodeon writers had the character of Trina be a delusional airhead with no talent so she wouldn't overshadow her. Couldn't have someone more talented showing up the actress who was one of the least talented but playing the character portrayed as the most talented one.
