This movie was made at the perfect time because when it came out all of the arts really were being defunded in schools
Cousinit they still are. My high school has an entire separate science building where only science classes take place. All the other classes are shoved into the main building and the science program in the school has so many more programs and opportunities.

@@hizee5515 subjective. Science isn't "better" than sports. I agree schools tend to put a lot more money towards sports (football and maybe basketball but that's it. Not even other sports/athletes), but schools also ignore the importance of physical health. We need to be active and not sitting all day

The twist about Olivia's family is when the story got really good. It was legitimately a heartbreaking scene. She just broke down and started crying and I was like, am I still watching a Disney Channel movie? Because this is too real.

The book is actually MUCH more mature than the movie; they made it more kid-friendly since it's Disney Channel. The book is very intense and powerful, which is probably why the movie turned out so well.

I think you might have forgotten something very crucial: at the end we learn the whole story is being told on Olivia's perspective because she's writing her dad, who is in prison, a letter explaining everything that happened recently.
Yes this is a crucial detail because some unmentioned things could have been insinuated because it was a letter to her father

Tegan Harris that, and none of there lives were perfect. They all had typical teenage problems (other than Olivia), which is one of the reasons the movie’s so relatable
I can see Mo, Olivia, and Charlie's issues but Stella and Wen are just so spoiled, I didn't like these characters at all
anonymous artist that makes no since because when you think about it Stella is constantly being held up to the unrealistic standards that her family has. And Wen’s dad is dating a girl who might as well be the same age as him, and on top of that it’s incredibly uncomfortable when you first get a new stepparent cause it kinda feels like replacement. So yeah they do have problems, and quite honestly I would say that Stella and Charlie kind of have the same problem considering it’s families and high standards.

I kinda like that - leaving it as an innocuous thing.
I'd say that because the characters are supposed to be pretty much outcasts, they do not know how to reach to others, so the lemonade is the ice breaker, the thing they have in common. Also maybe a symbol for outcasts, since only "losers" like them go to drink from that forgotten vending machine, which is why when people want to remove it, it's a symbol for how they were removed from social circles for not being popular enough. The fight for the lemonade is a pretext for their fight to be heard.
I never really understood why wen couldnt play when his eye was messed up. if you've practiced a song on piano, it becomes like 90% muscle memory

Ye but to be fair Wen moves quite a bit around. And then muscle memory is hard. I agree when sitting stationary muscle memory is bombing. But if you trying to dange and entertain it gets so hard. Also while muscle memory helps with knowing where to push not seeing the boundaries of the keys is hell. You know where it is generally but if all the keyboard is 1 blurr it's gonna be hard to aim

I actually got ISS for it. Cause one specific teacher got mad that I was reading while they were teaching (the other teachers had figured out by then I generally knew what they were teaching), and said if I was so smart I should be able to take a test right then.
Made a 92, and she got so mad that I DID know, that she gave me 4 days of ISS for "disruptive behavior."

I'm probably in the minority of Lemonade Mouth fans here but "She's So Gone" was my LEAST favorite song. Even compared to the other band's stuff (I can't remember what they were called, because I keep thinking they're one name but I KNOW that band was in Scott Pilgrim not Lemonade Mouth) "She's So Gone" sounds EXACTLY like Mo was going, "Oh look at me! I'm so EDGY NOW. Ooh! Don't you wish you had held onto me?" And the framing of it with her singing like that didn't help. But then again, I really thought Mo was the least interesting character in the movie......... Sorry..... and please don't roast me too hard for it if you feel strongly in the opposite direction....
