How is her business slow enough in the summer to the point where she can afford to basically leave the city to go "camping" with her daughter at a camp for teenagers?
But realisticly, no one would have cared not even Tess. They would have lightly teased her about but other than that no one would have bitched her like that.
the reason camp rock was so big is because it’s an easy thing to like. yes all the tropes are cliche and oversimplified to the point where it doesn’t make much sense but when you’re 8 years old they’re new and exciting, and you have several different decent songs to sing. plus there’s a couple to root for (shipping unfortunately begins at a young age), not to mention the jonas brothers were in it and we all biased a jonas brother lol. the setting felt cool as well i remember, like you get to go to camp and have singing and dancing lessons, everyone wanted to be there. really enjoyed this, hope you do starstruck next! that was my favorite disney movie for so long.
kinda over it I agree. The movie used so many cliches but there was something about it that felt so unique. I’ve never seen another Disney channel original that has even come close to having the same vibe of quality of camp rock. I’m not quite sure what is so magnetic about it but it’s just got something there. Even despite the cliches.
Emily Fisher camp rock was always a close second to high school musical for me personally, but i do agree when you say there’s something there despite the cliches. i think it was the setting, it just had to be. everything on disney at that time was high school, like they were really shoving this weird romanticized version of high school down our throats and camp rock was just a breath of fresh air i think.
I went to the camp Camp Rock was filmed at for an overnight field trip. On one of the tours of the site, one of the camp counselors showed us the exact corner Demi Levato cried at. Memorable trip

How Musical films about High School Students work. 1. Blonde: *Bad* 2. Brunette: *Good* 3. Always Boy Superstar 4. Nerd boy is secretly better than everyone 5. Gingers?? (Edit for the all of those who didn’t make it the list and reasons why... sorry) 6. Blacks: Sings and can dance better than everyone, if not, then they are put in the nerds category. 7. The Colored Hair girl: “sHeS a WiTcH” or she could be part Pokemon you hair-phobic person😑 8. E-Girl: Only Victorious can do it right
Mitchie being at that camp was probably the slimmest of chances and it was a camp where only "rich kids" could afford. Based on the other characters, their parents are in the music industry somehow but hers are just normal people. So I think Mitchie didn't want to stand out so she made up the lie of her mom being also in the industry. Also from how Tess was acting (really mean and instigating) Mitchie had to come up with something for Tess to be nice to her. Which is stupid.
Disney characters getting up in the mornig: Singing, dancing, super happy, full of energy and a face of makeup. Me: Tired, ugly, hungry, angry, really have to use the bathroom, somehow really cold even though it's really hot outside, and pretty much dead for the next 30mins until I finally decides to get up with the 2 ounces of strength I have.
Same, but I don't hunk it's cringe. It's just an innocent live action fanfic for pre teens and teens. It's good and enjoyable when you're 13/14/15, but the songs are good though. I like it.
Things that I don’t understand: 1) why are all the main bullies blonde? 2) why are the victims brunette? 3) why do the main characters always fall for the popular kids and (usually) end up with them in the end? 4) Why does the main character (usually a girl) fall for the bad boy? 5) I don’t know why movies like this cliché, but the main character (again, usually a girl) always causes the edgy bad boy love interest to show their soft side EDIT: I just realized that the main character always ditches their best friends to hang out with the popular kids and then they come crawling back their best friends once they realize how bad the popular kids are and BAM! The best friends are always chill with that!
vitalrose except irl it’s not like that, theres more dynamics and personalities. school movies are incredibly terrible with coming up any basic new format.
The Jonas Brothers were already pretty famous when Camp Rock came out. Most of us who were fans watched it for them, even though we knew even back then that it wasn’t great.
"with dad expanding the store and my catering business just taking off" well shit it sounds like you're fairly successful, why is this a money problem?
There's an interview with Demi Lovato for the movie, and she explained that the food is usually really pretty but tastes awful and it's usually cold because it's movie food, its supposed to look good, and that's it.
One thing that baffled me about these movies was that in the first one, "Camp Rock" is talked up as being a super cool camp catered towards "rich kids", hence why Mitchie lies about having a famous parent. But in the sequel, it's apparently a "lame" camp that is constant eclipsed by the "awesomeness" of Camp Star, and are losing campers to them. And while the musical numbers only happened because the character on screen was performing them, the sequel somehow elevates it to "High School Musical" level, where they just suddenly break into song and dance out of nowhere!😮😂
and it literally makes no sense that the Jonas Brothers (or whatever their name was in the movie) are this HUGE band but Camp Star still won at the end. If it's essentially a popularity contest, they wouldve generated more votes just for being famous and having loyal fans.
Sharpay Evans was never the antagonist. She was a dedicated theatre student who is passionate about what she does. Troy and Gabriela appeared out of nowhere. They were late to the auditions and didn’t even prepare, yet still got the roles. Sharpay’s own brother betrayed her in a way too! Did that stop her? No. She remained loyal to her love of theatre and decided to become a drama teacher. Sure, she’s not the most down to earth individual, but she is determined and ambitious and only got in Troy and Gabriela’s hair because they got whatever they wanted and didn’t even try.
An antagonist is someone who opposes the main character(s). They don't have to be evil, it's not the same as a villain. Since Troy and Gabriela are the protagonists, Sharpay _is_ the antagonist.
Funnily enough my bullies in middle school always did the What Ever Major Loser hand thing at me. It was super insulting at the time but looking back it's so cringe
Vismaya Rajesh people would probably make memes about it but since it was released in like 2006 everyone just loves it 😍 or if that doesnt happen it will just be irrelevant and nobody would talk about it

Dude if you think people randomly dancing or singing it’s weird you have clearly never been in the performing arts area of any school. That shit is wild. People doing improv or phantom-miming their blocking, spontaneously bursting into song, there’s always that one kid who has a guitar no matter what, small groups of people practicing a dance, and a couple mental breakdowns over auditions. Performers are wild.
I go to a performing arts school lol everyone is either singing every single minute of the day, dancing around the school, has (drawn on) tattoos all around their arms and legs. Yeah it’s fun!
Lila329 i went to a private performing arts college. Can confirm about the random singing, but like pretty much everyone was stoned so only really the theater kids got wild with random line rehearsals and spontaneous dancing. Everyone else was just singing/rapping or vaping and sharing headphones.
Facts, she's the one who's been working for so long at her dream of being on stage and then Troy has one audition one time and gets the main role. The instructor should've seen Troy's conflicting schedules and complete lack of interest of the play since ever
Maybe Miss Darbus wanted something a little more heartfelt and subtle than Sharpay’s flamboyant performance style. She spiced up What I’ve Been Looking For and You are the Music in Me when they were composed to be less dynamic numbers. While Sharpay is definitely talented she may be trying too hard and overcompensating with flashy props and OTT dance numbers. Also, Darbus may have been looking for fresh blood for the drama department where Sharpay had been dominating. Sharpay does have a point, but her all about me-ism doesn’t help her case. Troy and Gabriella were doing well enough juggling their own commitments and rehearsing before Sharpay got the callbacks moved to deliberately clash with their events. The actual conflict comes from them not telling anyone for fear of being seen breaking out of societal stereotypes.
Big truths. She just wanted to be in her musical. Troy is so ungreatful in hsm 2 like sharpay practically handed him college and a job and he threw it back in her face
You should do Sharpay’s fabulous adventure it’s basically about Sharpay’s life after high school musical!!!! Edit:Thanks for the likes (Alex you better do this damn video)
I'm crying, lmao. I was already dying after he roasted the piano chick and then blondie pops up with the "whatever loser" thing. This video is too much.
True, the equation behind their projects was less "realism and common sense" and more zany, over the top situations and premises. "Good Luck Charlie" was perhaps their most down to earth show, just being about an ordinary family and their new baby.
in retrospect this movie made no sense but when this came out cable tv was still being paid for and this was all the rage at lunch the next day. i remember the WEML motions being made several times in the weeks following this movie as a middle schooler
Wow that WEML thing makes me really glad that I was just starting high school during that time... High schoolers don't watch Disney and those who still did were hiding the fact.
I was in kindergarten at the time and remember i did the WEML move on one of my classmates. He got butthurt cuz i technically called him a loser and told the teacher and she made me sit by myself at lunch. So theres that
You make a *great* point about characters leaving well prepared meals on tables, haha, you would have to pay a *ton* to get others to do that for you if they are not family!
She also does it randomly when not singing... And I don't see diggers doing that when I see them 😂 it looks like it should hurt when she opens it that wide.
I just realized this The mom says "you cant go cause the catering company is slamed pack" Then the same day the mom says "buisness is slow so were going" Anyone else see something wrong with this?
She couldn't go because they couldnt afford to pay the full price cost to attend Camp Rock, not because they were "slammed pack" as you said. Because there isnt usually lot of jobs available for her mom's catering business when summer starts, she was available to offer to cater for Camp Rock during that summer break, and as a result, she received a camp discount that was affordable and reasonable for both parents to pay for and allow Mitchie to attend Camp Rock, as long as Mitchie promised to help out through the duration of the Camp
Bailey Davis By “catering business taking off”, Mitchie’s mom meant that it was a new startup business, and there wasn’t a lot of money bc the business just started
@@sleg4859 While that makes sense, its still sloppy writing because when you say something is "taking off" 9/10 times you probably mean that its starting to be successful, not that it just started.
Mitchie didn’t get to perform in the final jam, she got to perform afterwards in an interlude period when the judges were deciding on a winner. And she couldn’t win the final jam because she didn’t participate in it technically, hence, she wasn’t a competitor. She performed for the sake of performing because it was what she loved.
no she did perform as a competitor. she was told she couldn't perform until "the end of final jam", which she figured out meant that she would be the last act at "the end" of the show, which was even implied at the end by the camp director (who's name i'm forgetting), who said "i knew you'd catch on" to mitchie when she showed up at the end of the show.

the reason camp rock was so big is because it’s an easy thing to like. yes all the tropes are cliche and oversimplified to the point where it doesn’t make much sense but when you’re 8 years old they’re new and exciting, and you have several different decent songs to sing. plus there’s a couple to root for (shipping unfortunately begins at a young age), not to mention the jonas brothers were in it and we all biased a jonas brother lol. the setting felt cool as well i remember, like you get to go to camp and have singing and dancing lessons, everyone wanted to be there. really enjoyed this, hope you do starstruck next! that was my favorite disney movie for so long.
I remember watching the dumbest movies as a kid simply because I didn't know any better.
kinda over it I agree. The movie used so many cliches but there was something about it that felt so unique. I’ve never seen another Disney channel original that has even come close to having the same vibe of quality of camp rock. I’m not quite sure what is so magnetic about it but it’s just got something there. Even despite the cliches.
Emily Fisher yeah I think it might be better than high school musical in my opinion though that just might be me being bias
It's the songs. They are kind of fun.
Emily Fisher camp rock was always a close second to high school musical for me personally, but i do agree when you say there’s something there despite the cliches. i think it was the setting, it just had to be. everything on disney at that time was high school, like they were really shoving this weird romanticized version of high school down our throats and camp rock was just a breath of fresh air i think.
let's be real, alex russo's mum STOLE the show

I never understood why mitche was embarrassed with her mom being the chef 🤔 what's wrong with that?
She just wasn't that wealthy I guess
Because she lied in the beginning about her mom being president of hot tunes tv
I don’t think they were messing with her about that it’s just that she lied to get some non attractive girl to be friends with her
Mitchie being at that camp was probably the slimmest of chances and it was a camp where only "rich kids" could afford.
Disney logic duhh
Disney characters getting up in the mornig: Singing, dancing, super happy, full of energy and a face of makeup.

Things that I don’t understand:
1) why are all the main bullies blonde?
2) why are the victims brunette?
3) why do the main characters always fall for the popular kids and (usually) end up with them in the end?
4) Why does the main character (usually a girl) fall for the bad boy?
5) I don’t know why movies like this cliché, but the main character (again, usually a girl) always causes the edgy bad boy love interest to show their soft side
EDIT: I just realized that the main character always ditches their best friends to hang out with the popular kids and then they come crawling back their best friends once they realize how bad the popular kids are and BAM! The best friends are always chill with that!

Damn, Mitchey made the whole camp as lame as her!
I think Camp Star was supposed to be new, with a lot of money poured into it because the summer band camp industry is highly competitive or something.
Awesome profile picture!

Very true but we was young so we thought she was she needs a apology 😪
An antagonist is someone who opposes the main character(s). They don't have to be evil, it's not the same as a villain. Since Troy and Gabriela are the protagonists, Sharpay _is_ the antagonist.
Sharpay's a homewrecker, a bully, and a cheat, and she betrayed Ryan first.
Except she actively strives to break up Troy and Gabriella by a number of ways including but not limited to trying to get Troy to cheat on Gabriella

Sounds wild 😂😂

Sharpay is the victim of High School Musical. And I will not stand for this slander of her name.
Troy is the true villain!
YEAH WATCH MATPAT THEORY! XD
Big truths. She just wanted to be in her musical. Troy is so ungreatful in hsm 2 like sharpay practically handed him college and a job and he threw it back in her face

I just realized this
The mom says "you cant go cause the catering company is slamed pack"
Then the same day the mom says "buisness is slow so were going"
Anyone else see something wrong with this?
She couldn't go because they couldnt afford to pay the full price cost to attend Camp Rock, not because they were "slammed pack" as you said. Because there isnt usually lot of jobs available for her mom's catering business when summer starts, she was available to offer to cater for Camp Rock during that summer break, and as a result, she received a camp discount that was affordable and reasonable for both parents to pay for and allow Mitchie to attend Camp Rock, as long as Mitchie promised to help out through the duration of the Camp
Amazing Sports Clips but legit while they were sitting at the breakfast table the mom says “with my catering business taking off... we can’t swing it”

Absolute bs, I wouldn't have shown up if I couldn't win.
