Good to see you chatting to Glyn Owen at 8:37 - 8:47. I follow his channel and he is doing a good project at the moment, restoring a trashed Classic 350. Nice video, as always.
Hey Charlie, thanks for this - it was a scoop… did anyone else notice Pav say ‘outgoing Himalayan’? That’s been a question floating around without an answer until now 😉
Hi Charlie, looked a good show and turn out , was there another bike that took your eye , not been to the show there since lockdown but intend to go again at some point , great to see so many people chatting and recognising you , very popular person 👍, oh got the Santa’s on bikes next weekend in Bristol for the children’s hospice, looking forward to raising money for that great cause and about to register again for next yrs DGR, all the best , Mitch
Nice one Charlie, when I went to the show on Monday, the mk2 Himmy & the R1300GS seamed to have the largest crowds! I did adventure on the trail test course with the older himmy felt a great bike to ride.
Was there on Monday with a mate and had to see the new Himalayan, very impressive and hoping the price won't be too much as they have some competition in the budget market. I test rode the 411 back in 2019 but ended up with a Honda NC750X in the end, looking to replace maybe 2025, I was on the hunt for a scooter for commuting this time round. Was there from ten till four, keep saying I'll have to get a hotel and do two days as you don't get round it all. Funnily we thought there were more stands this year, apart from Harley. Looking forward to seeing if you get a new Himalayan and what you'll call him ☺️ . Enjoying the videos, especially the Battlefield tour trip 🫡
Talk about a item on the Christmas wish list. You will review that new Himalayan quite admirably Charlie. I can picture it in your living room with a blankie on. How you attend all these events, and camp outside and sleep on the ground is truly inspiring for other enthusiasts. Motorcycles and drumming ($) together will inhibit me from moving up, but please do share any information. Thank you.
Pav gave a lot of wrong info, standard seat is 825-845, low seat goes to 805-825 and not below that. Also there is only 2 riding modes (perf, eco) with abs(on/off), no wet mode.
Pav was the tea ☕ boy 😅. He also made a point of saying it was "all abs", like the old one wasn't 🤔. Watch the royal Enfield posted video titled 'built in the Himalayas the sherpa engine '. The guy on this was probably involved in development and he's based in the UK.
Still on the fence re the new Himmy as it stands the CF Moto and the Rieju tickle my fancy more! Hopefully get to the NEC sat/sun. Looked like a fun time with great people.
After watching a few TH-cam videos yours has been the most comprehensive by showing more of the show itself rather than focusing on a couple of top brands, but for me it's lost it's appeal over the past few years, but glad you enjoyed it (bet you have a new himmy in your garage next year 😀) keep up the good work
Hey Charlie. Very good overview of the NEC 2023. The Himalayan 450 is very tempting with the additional power and upgrades and I can only speak as someone who doesn’t currently own a 411. It seems to me that if the 411 is meeting the needs of current owners, it is hard to justify the extra outlay of cash. Only you would know that. Otherwise if the 450 is targeting first time buyers, then it looks like a winner. Cheers and stay safe. Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Oh Charlie ... what a dilemma! I know you said that Roger was 'safe' but seeing you on the new 450 made me wonder if a wee change was imminent! Great seeing you and Jay at the show! 😎🏍x
Great video. I went there with my husband yesterday. The bike that grabbed my attention was the triumph speed 400 and the purple Kawasaki zx10rr The z400 I own is being replaced with the Z500 but there is not enough of a change for me to think about replacing it as it does not have any more power. It is not nice when you love your current bike and another comes along to steel your heart. Feels like being unfaithful 😁
Great video. I follow Usernamekate as well as you. She appears to be a complete sweetheart, like yourself. Thank you for the bike show video. The reality of living in rural Canada is nothing like these happen that close to me.

This is what allows manufacturers to then implement riding modes. Good vid, look forward to seeing you on your brand new Himmy sometime next year.😂
Hey Charlie, I've got a suspicion the credit card is in for a bashing in the not too distant future 🤣😂 you're falling for the new Himalayan, you can't keep away from them😀. Go live the dream👍🤗
Congratulations on your channel. I love to follow your videos. By the look of the numbers at the show, it looks like another flop. Many of the larger M/C accessory suppliers staying away yet again. Footfall down year on year and the NEC increase their prices which simply puts entry fees beyond the reach of many. As a pensioner, my first visit 4 years ago cost £12. Two years ago it was £19. This year it went up to £32 with no concessions. Thank you for showing us around the show but I won't be going back.

Stick with your 411. Wouldn't touch the 450 until it's ad a good thrashing around the world. Also all preproduction have been built by technicians not assembly workers. Probably why Norelys machine is still running OK. But would she film a break down as they've loaned her the bike. I think it's such a shame they went liquid cooled. I think triumph with their new 400 might just have " pulled their pants down" on price. That's why I think RE are being a bit coy about their pricing. Thanks for the run around MC Live I couldn't make it this year. 😊
Agree with you, its lost the Royal Enfield DNA for me, basic and simple. Why have ride by wire technology, what's wrong with a good old throttle cable and rider skills? Something else to go wrong and illuminate the engine management light.🤔😥👍
Himalayan 450 launched in India on 24 November the day before previous day.today i have booked top model of Himalayan 450 hanle black.it would cost me 3,130 British pounds including taxes and registration.base model of Himalayan 450 in india would cost you 2,980 British pounds with taxes and registration.in india its very cheap when it comes to quality and all.
So I take it one can have the black and gold without the gold wheel trim? I'm not a fan of them tbh. Price wise if it's about £6500 it's obviously £2k more than the old one which is fair enough for the R&D etc. However that puts them up at the price of Honda's CB500X and CL500.
The nec used to be a real spectacle show. The last couple of times I have been it’s poor, like a walk round a show room and as for no pricing absolutely ridiculous, like they are trying to guage interest before whacking a price on at a premium I expect. Thanks for the walkabout. I still don’t buy the RE hype. They need to keep the pricing sensible as the chinese italian bikes are snapping at their heels esp cf Moto. Roger howling like an abandoned dog at home facing the knackers yard. My tip wait a year stick with roger but prob for channel get both. Have pcp on new one and do comparisons. Anyone waiting on yhe new Himmy would be well advised to look at the new CFmoto MT450 that is coming as well as that looks just as useful and next time Charlie find someone from.thr company that actually knows what they are on about as he clearly didn't lol
The 450 makes sense only if the price stays reasonable, and sadly with the investment Royal Enfield have clearly made I can see a price of over £5500 and maybe north of £6000, which is when you have to question if it’s worth it.
So, it looks like Roger 2.0 is in the making...! Happy days..., I got two of my favourite girls in one video this time round. I'm sure I was just as surprised as you, to see UNK there. Bet that was a long day, giving you a lot to chew on that evening in bed. I was rather taken with that Triumph, but seeing the price tag, that made me think about Pav's strange reaction when you asked wether there would be a bigger Himmy soon. Could be an interesting adition to their range, and fierce competition, price wise, to the V-Strom' and Africa Twins etc.!
@@volt8684way better fit and finish on the Himalayan in comparison to the 400 triumphs, they appear to be a parts bin kinda bike, nothing wrong with that, just not up to the level of the royal enfield
@@patrickcolclough2423 yes and in the UK I ride on the street. You can't travel from A to B off road in England. But look at RevZilla new video. They took the Triumph 400's up the highest road in the World. Better than a GS 1250 for that kind of riding.😅😂
@@restdayrider you'll probably have to wait around 40 years for that to happen due to how many are out there be ruthless and move Roger on to pastures new 👍
2:35 what the hell? The RE program manager in UK doesn’t really know what is ride by wire technology? 😂😂 what a shame and funny too! He said with ride by wire you can change the riding mode???😂 a high school kid can explain that. Ride by wire is used in throttle which has no wire involved for mechanical throttle input rather use an electronic throttle input to send air-fuel mix to the engine. Idk how the fcuk is RE recruiting such dumbs in the UK branch. 😂
If I were you I would start complaining about seat heights and ask the motorcycle manufacturer why they discriminate 80% of women and 40-50% of men by building adventure bikes, made for men with more than average height. Seriously, it’s 2023 and bikes are fully packed with all possible electronics, but we are constantly discriminating shorter people and have no solutions for this? This is failed engineering at its finest.
Pav is talking out of his backside. At the risk of sounding old fashioned which I am, it is pronounced Himalayan and not Himarlyan otherwise its spelt wrong isn’t it. Also they are indicators in this country not bloody trafficators . Other than that a great video and its rant over😮 Just glad for Pav that I wasn't there to correct him
Sigh... Not again. Given the sound, maybe it would have been good with subtitles? In the hands of Itchy Boots, the new Himalaya looks to be just fine, so it should be fine for you too. 👌

The 650 cruiser? Yeah, not for me tho. 😏
@@restdayrider u talking about super meteor 650 cruiser? It's not that
Did you try the African Twin? That new Himalayan does look sexy though.
Too tall sadly. 😐
Himmy Ya , I know you want the new 450 I could see all over you ..Yes !!!
yip you need wireless mics ;-)
Anyone waiting on yhe new Himmy would be well advised to look at the new CFmoto MT450 that is coming as well as that looks just as useful and next time Charlie find someone from.thr company that actually knows what they are on about as he clearly didn't lol
Any details on kerb weight?
I believe it's 196kg
181kg dry and 196 wet. 😊
The 450 makes sense only if the price stays reasonable, and sadly with the investment Royal Enfield have clearly made I can see a price of over £5500 and maybe north of £6000, which is when you have to question if it’s worth it.
I knew you would like the new Himalayan 😊 just didn't want to influence you. 😁😁😁😁
😂
So, it looks like Roger 2.0 is in the making...! Happy days..., I got two of my favourite girls in one video this time round. I'm sure I was just as surprised as you, to see UNK there. Bet that was a long day, giving you a lot to chew on that evening in bed. I was rather taken with that Triumph, but seeing the price tag, that made me think about Pav's strange reaction when you asked wether there would be a bigger Himmy soon. Could be an interesting adition to their range, and fierce competition, price wise, to the V-Strom' and Africa Twins etc.!
I hope he was hinting, he definitely hesitated!
Have you bought one yet?
🫣🫢
So, biggest cylinders, username Kate, you, BMW R1800, in that order.
😂
Looking forward to the new Triumph Scrambler 400. Great price at £5595otr.
The Triumph is no competion, it's a street bike.
Soz cant agree 6 grand for a 400cc. The Chinese bikes will walk all over these if they don’t keep eye on ball
@@kevindarkstar😅😂😅
Looks like ya gonna need a bigger garage Charlie lol!
Much bigger. 😂
Why a bike with only 40hp would need rider modes is totally unfathomable !.
Bye bye Roger its been nice knowing you but your simply so last year now 👋😂😂😂
Ah but also a collector's classic in the making. 😊
@@restdayrider you'll probably have to wait around 40 years for that to happen due to how many are out there be ruthless and move Roger on to pastures new 👍
🫣😭
Roger , we need to talk, its not you its me, your dumped
😂🫣
Pav is talking out of his backside.
At the risk of sounding old fashioned which I am, it is pronounced Himalayan and not Himarlyan otherwise its spelt wrong isn’t it.
Also they are indicators in this country not bloody trafficators .
Other than that a great video and its rant over😮
Just glad for Pav that I wasn't there to correct him
Sigh... Not again. Given the sound, maybe it would have been good with subtitles? In the hands of Itchy Boots, the new Himalaya looks to be just fine, so it should be fine for you too. 👌
I did subtitle!
@@restdayrider Well... Only partially, from what I could see. 🤔
TH-cam may add subtitles as an option to the rest of it in a few hours. I really need a mic set up. 🙄
@@restdayrider Yup! 😁
Everyone to their own,. But, i didn't like that himalayan.
Why 🤔
Light my fire there is nothing there more of the same bikes or kit entrance or parking look at the halls not well attended go back to the 80s 90s you would not move for people and deals it's a sham
