Looking back, the Thunderbird Super Coup was a great looking car. The supercharged V6 was awesome. The suspension was great. The only negative was the automatic seat belts.

My SC 1990 red, must be original and painted to have this ítems. Maybe 😂 a silly comment from an old guy. But I feel it. If you are happy installing a Coyote SC on it. Do it!! I’ve been a die hard 3.8 fan but the car isn’t performing like I want.. not fast enough and the car is modified about as far as i can go for a 3.8 I’ve hardly drove the car in years lost some interest but I’ll never sell it
nice video. One thing "Goat" or anyone else didn't elaborate on enough. A lot of the older cars had good horsepower but didn't take into account drivetrain loss. Newer cars can make the same horsepower at the engine but a decent amount to more to the wheels since this was figured out. Aerodynamics is another factor tyhat wasn't nearly as advanced and of the same importance as now either.
Unfortunately 95% of these cars...and 100% of the women pictured in this video have rotted away and faded into obscurity. As much as I loved my SC(was actually a SCCOA and TCCOA member in 01)seeing the painstaking strides y'all make just to keep them on the road makes me happy I ended up with just as fast of a car only in N/A and MUCH MORE aftermarket support. Still wouldn't mind finding another. I'm sure y'all know but pull them skirts off every couple years and check them rockers, I lost mine cuz she rotted away and I had NO CLUE

The hydraulic master cylinder went out and ford wanted 1800+ for a new one. I been using all my money on my stang so ended up giving away the SC to a buddy of mine.

yea. but if your gonna put a turbo or supercharger on a car with like 400hp and someone else were to do that to a car with 200hp the one with 400hp is still gonna have more power, so it still depends on what mods you put on. if you put the same amount of mods on a car that started with more hp as a car with less hp, the car that started out with more hp is still going to have more hp.

Yes,prob beat one. The 5.0 only had like 210hp-225hp,so it comes down to weight and suspension. 5.0 might have been lighter but the SC had a MUCH better suspension. that car was my favorite car that I owned and I owned nice cars I put like $1,500 into it and I used to blow away everything I race altogether I had + 3500 into the car and I used to blow away brand new Corvettes those cars are bad they fire 2 cylinders at a time they have so much torque they stuff you in the seat I'm looking for one right now bad ass cars in for the guy talking about 8 seconds pulling a wheelie watch some videos
yea they might have had the same hp or even close but you know why its faster cuz the hp to the wheels is diff and your right transmissions are better and that type of shit but hp is hp im not to sure of the hp rates for thos cars but i bet the newer one has a hight to the wheels hp power and its also way lighter...

The SC had style, size, class, wheelbase, comfort, and speed. I remember a Ford ad with Bob Glidden in it. It doesn't get any better than that.

That first anniverary one they showed was on ebay a while back. I almost bought it. They wanted like $20k but it had like RIDICULOUSLY low miles.
