Years ago we were in Vegas and the only show tickets we could get were to Chicago. I was a little disappointed but then we went and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Will never, ever forget it. Incredible!
Yeah definitely not the Terry Kath live solo version but considering that he’s gone, this was a reasonable facsimile. I would have paid good money to see this live. 🤩
So live not anemic nor sterile the rhythms and notes are totally live and build off each other and the guys help each other stay tight. Amazing job guys!
You can play it all you want but with terry kath solo live I’d hate to take that on his live solo to this song not on the record the live version that pops up on TH-cam
Observations: Jimmy P hamming it up at foot of stage, as usual. Robert Lamm with perfect hair, as usual. Walter P swinging, as usual. Tom Johnston singing every BV. Jason Scheff watching everything happening onstage with an expression as if to say WTF??
@@garydesgres1382 Exactly...not one of them could play the guitar leads the way Terry could...but Leonid & Friends guitarist Sergey Kasharin can pretty much do it note for note (and really CLEAN)! See their cover of this tune and you'll see what I mean...they sound better than the current version of Chicago!
Don't be sorry it's true it's hard to listen to it without him also think about the great guitar players on stage they can match that one magic player who Jimi Hendrix said was his favorite guitar player at one point in time
Yeah sounds like a solid version but Without Kath Might As Well Play In The Bath Come On Folks Hendrix Himself said his favorite guitarist was Terry That Speaks Decibels Big
True, Kath's departure from this world robbed the band of its most soulful element. But hey, it was nobody's fault but his. As for Hendrix; yes, he apparently said that about Kath. He was complementary about a lot of players and bands. He also seems to have been inspired by Kath's 'Free Form' guitar for his own 'Star Spangled Banner' performance at Woodstock. It is sad that both of those players died to young, and both from unnatural causes.
Thanks for that helpful critique there, Dr. Obvious. I guess you go to TH-cam for high quality "watchable" videos from 10 years ago with 10 year old stabilization technology..... Lighten Up Francis! Do you go to videos from the 1977 World Series and complain that it is grainy and "unwatchable"?
Todd Gakk. WRONG! Alot Of People LOVE The Band With OUT KATH! He wasn't the whole show, Sorry to inform You.. Chicago STILL ROCKS! Your mind is So Narrow! Life Goes ON! Glad nobody Listened to people like you. GO CHICAGO! YOU SOUND AMAZING! 🎉 And LOOK Beautiful!🕯️🥳

Lucky you,Ment to be,
That was spectacular! Chicago and the Doobie Brothers together in concert! 💪🏼😎🇺🇲
I can understand why everybody wants a piece of this song. It's got incredible energy. Never fails.
The trumpet player who always gets into this, makes the song for me.
The 4-guitar solo was fantastic!
4 amazing and respected guitarists playing that solo and still not touching Terry! What a tremendous waste and loss!!
No Terry on guitar , No Peter Cetera on bass and vocals on stage together at the same time. It ain't.....uh, you know the thing . Lol 😆
Yes indeed. Terry Kath was the guitar 🎸 king.
Nada como Terry kat y Peter cetera
That's a lot of great musicians playing this song.
I'd venture to say that's a pretty fair assemblage of talent right there. 😁
OMG. This takes me back to when we saw Chicago in 1971. They. blew. us. away. Still do!
Spectacular! What a wonderful combination of talents

YES !!!! This song!!! And with Doobie, how much I love 😍 ❤❤❤❤❤
They should and look proud of themselves.this was a work of art x.loved it could not do nothing but watch and listen, megga,,,x.
Thank you for this video.
Ohhh wow ... this was just perfect ... been years since I listened to this, really some great memories🟪
Two of the greatest bands of all time and taught me everything I learned in playing pop-rock music. Chi-town meets Marin county. Perfect match.
Both awesome bands/ song
Love the Doobies and did a grest job on this song
On a eu la chance de vivre cela, quand on était jeune. incomparable, sublime, beau!

not sure what you’re trying to say?…but Kath has been dead for almost 44yrs. this show/performance was fantastic!
Chicago was a killer band being so many members and they just worked... never problems and multiple music inputs with the ban.
Check out Kent Nishimura's solo rendition of 25 or 6 to 4 on acoustic guitar.
wow for a concert recording that has great audio quality
Wow
Saw them at Great Woods decades ago!!! It was great!!
Awesome
Blue Lou just shines through in any company!!
THE DOOBIES AND CHICAGO, SIMPLE THE BEST. TWO GREAT ROCK BANDS.
interesting pairing......the right wine for the right entree.....👍
Audio not the greatest , but damn they jamming that tune!

Keith is awesome. For me the best . Sorry. Miss him a lot
Wow, it took 4 guitar players to equal one Terry Kath. They are all very talented.
Not many people know just how great Terry Kath was. I suggest the videos from Tanglewood in the early 1970s.
@@patriciawright8786 Yes, I've watched it many times. Amazing!

Eskimeyen müziklerden muhteşem Onları 7 0 lerden beri severek dinliyorum
Now watch the Leonid and Friends version. They are from Russia and do not even speak English but they learned how to sing it.
Oh yeah they're freakin' great plus a little eye candy from time to time.
I learned how to mow the lawn to this
Brilliant!!
Great to see Walt.
I'm loving this so much...right Eric Henning?
Peter-Alexander Ostrowsky did you know that Mr. Ostrowsky was a driver's ed teacher? And the Wolfie and Marisi Piechotta were my friends?
Seen Chicago in Ct. in 72.
Is that Burt Cummins with the mustache?
NO
It was Tom Johnston original singer/ guitar player of the Doobie Brothers. "Whoa, whoa Listen to the music".
Terry Kath and Peter Cetera.
so it takes a dozen players to match terry kath
Is that Peter Cetera stage left with cowbell ??
I Totally*agree
シカゴのこの映像見始めですわ。
I don't know what to say, other than...
#nailedit
Basically a Chicago cover band.
Sorry, but it's hard to listen to this without Terry Kath....
And without Peter
Once Terry died and Peter left, Chicago was never the same.
Well…Kath ain’t coming back🤦♂️. I thought it was a fantastic show ✌️
I agree totally terry Kath is chicago

Well Mr. Johnston is still there and not m msdonld
Lo que Terry hizo con una guitarra , estos lo hacen 5 .. más parafernalia incluida
Para mi Keith es un fantástico guitarrista. El mejor de chicago

Kath was way better than Hendrix who by the way was overrated. If he hadn't OD'd he would have petered out.
All that percussion and just a standard backbeat okay whatever
It's called playing it like it was recorded. They don't NEED to do anything different.
