We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this show. Finally got to see him LIVE. He gave a lot of insight into each song, so glad we went. It's good to be me!
Here's my two cents for what it's worth. If life teaches us anything it's that there are three sides to every situation. Your side. My side and the cold hard truth in the middle. The breakup of Chicago is no more Cetera's fault then it is Bobby Lamm's or even Terry Kath's. Terry, may he rest in peace, was planning on leaving Chicago and creating a band called Cook County. Bobby was planning on embarking on a solo career as well. Peter was looking to leave but when told what he had to play instead of being asked, was forced out of the band. All this is documented in various interviews. If you're a Chicago purist, you will never like Peter's work with Foster. Nor should you. They are not worthy of comparison because they are completely different, I used to think that it was all Cetera's fault, but I'll fall back on the truth theory. There will never be another band like Chicago pre 80's (Okay, Blood, Sweat, and Tears is worthy of mention). No other band had the audacity to deliver double albums on their first five efforts. Don't lose sight of the fact that Cetera was on every one of them and contributed a hellava lot. So don't be haters. Appreciate it all.....for what it's worth.
Your pretty accurate with your comments. When Pete left, the originals spoke badly of him. When Bill Champlin left, or was asked to leave, the same thing occurred.
@@TruthHurts58 : I’ve followed them since the 70s and no one refers to him as Bobby Lamm. What he did call himself (when the members used pseudonyms for their names) was Bobby Charles, after his idol Ray Charles.
I would like to see Peter and all living original members of Chicago put their differences behind them and do a farewell tour one last time, they could bank some big $$$.
ha, he was also one of my first influences. I learned a lot about how to emphasize bass parts and make it sing. I loved his playing in their song, "Only the Beginnings" especially near the end when the horn section, trombone, and trumper are playing their duo.

If you noticed, he lowered the key several steps so he didn't have to hit the original high notes. Really noticeable in 25 or 6 to 4. It sucks to get old.

But I know I'm living in the past but it still sounds really nice regardless even though this is now about 6 or 7 years ago I still dream of cetera and seraphan and lamb together on stage and of course panko but it'll probably never happen when one of them passes away the dream will end but at least we had them when we had them and of course it goes without saying it will never be the same without Terry
Cetera retired for good in 2019 and he did say before the RRHOF fiasco that he always felt that 25- 6 to 4 was too high for him saying it wasn't his range anymore and Chicago refused to lower the key (of that song)which was one of the reasons he declined to perform with them at the RRHOF. In 2016 Cetera was 72 yrs old and people forget the voice ages like the other parts of the body. I give him full credit for not hiding his limitations.
