I'm so sad that I was never able to experience Makin' Magic. The disc I got was broken and crashed my games every time I tried to open it and I've never had the chance to play it. It was truly a sad point in my life.
@@BeepHampton I did get it from old games and I found it took forever to work, and when it did it had a ton of graphical bugs/ crashes... Really wish EA would at least remaster the Sims to work for Windows 10 😭😭
the 2 things i want in realm of magic are : 1: familiars, like if you have a super high relationship they can be your familiar and maybe familiar owls 2:dragon pets, and if u have pets it can be an option in cas like cat, dog, and dragon and size option for the dragons (like small dog and big dog)
It took me 24 sim hours to buy 6 jars of honey in Magic Town in Sims 1, but I loved every goddamn second of it and I won't apologize for that. Great video!

Making Magic is still the best pack, easily. Roller coasters (aka I think the reason for my phobia of clowns) dragons and feckin’ skeleton butlers it was amazing

The fact hay in sims 2 you didn’t have full powers until you picked good or bad (which makes sense and encourages decisive decision making) but in the sims 4 it doesn’t matter and you have access to both if you’re undecided, you have full magical access. I feel like this is such a loss to the incentive to play a certain way or to actually work hard towards a goal in order to be rewarded for your hard work. Just a rant on an old video don’t mind me
I just hope they dont ruin the next packs, as they said we still have like 3 more years of the sims 4 contents so i really hope they learn from the past and create depth in this pack

You forgot all the trades you had to make in order to get different ingredients. It's almost like an exchanging quest. You click on a npc and it has the "Bargain" option. It's a lot of fun.
The likely reason for magic not being restricted to witches in TS3 is that magical items (spellbook, cauldron, voodoo doll, crystal ball) had been released on the store long before Supernatural came out, but I actually like that this allows sims that are already some other type of occult to cast spells. I can easily restrict any sim from using magic just by not buying them the objects.

Making Magic was the best Sims pack, no competition. The lil babby dragons were so cute and so chaotic I tried to raise loads of em but they just set everything on fire 🔥
I absolutely loved Magic town, those puzzles were hard that the fairy or Vampires set lol But the rollercoasters, and the drunk gnomes and the dragons :D Felt fun every time you went there. I felt so guilty in my game when Bella turned Mortimer into a frog, and their cat ate him .....ooops hahahah Bonehilda in sim 3 was awesome as she was a great nanny/dog trainer aswell as maid :P

Yes!! I myself am a Potterhead and Makin Magic is my favourite sims expension pack (from ALL the simses) and play it every year and especially from september throughout october for that extra magic feeling. Even though the sims 1 had the “least best graphics” but it has soooo much more charm to it than the other Sims. I love the magic and eeriness and ohhh everything from it. From the characters like the fairy queen, snake charmer and other magic characters that are not standart magic. Ohh and every year I give a halloween party with the entire soundtrack from Makin Magic and i get inspiration from especially the circus plots and little things as the posters and banners you see in the game. The whole magic thing is just amazing! I love the combination of the gypsy/magic ish plots and themes and the eeriness Tim Burton/Harry Potter vibes from the greyish more victorian plots. Its just soooo good thought about. Fave game in the world. Everyone I know looks weird at me when I say the Sims 1 making magic is mij favoutire game bc its so old and kind of forgotten and overshadowed by Sims2,3&4. So I love watching your video’s about it and hearing you talk about how you also love this pack!!

Me, too! As a kid, I never earned enough magic coins to buy a house in magic town, I wasn't goal-oriented enough. I played like 4 years ago and was finally able to get a house and I was so satisfied. It was like I had achieved my lifetime wish LOL

The spinning wheel in Makin' Magic has a special place in my heart--it's the thing that first showed me that things in OLDER expansion packs could interact with things from NEWER ones--that they'd done _back_ connections. Makin' magic was the first ever Sims game I played, I remember accidentally turning into a frog and giving up because it'd take HOURS (sims hours) to turn back and I didn't know you could speed up.
I do think it makes sense for any sim to be able to brew potions, simply because that's not really something that requires magic, simply a knowledge of the ingredients you're using.... but spellcasters being able to make better/faster potions also makes sense cause magic can surely help

I feel like Makin Magic was the start of my sims experience, or one of the first expansion packs I bought (or was gifted to me, I mean I was like 9). I was trying to figure if I was misremembering it and it had actually been the sims 2 but this reminded me I used to spend hours making my sims jump in magic wells.
I wish EA would release a modernly playable Sims because I've never been able to get Sims to work. I still play Sims2 and Sims 3, but lately I've been playing a LOT of Sims 4 lol

Just like you, magic was always my favourite aspect of the sims series. In fact, I originally bought the sims because my friend said she made a “family of witches and wizards” (by that she made black clothes on the Sims Creator) BUT the Sims Makin Magic came and my parents got it for my birthday and oh my goodness I was addicted. Best game EVER!!!!! Just everything about it was incredible. I was excited when they came back in the Sims 2 but like you I didn’t like how their physical appearance would change and how limited the clothing options were. I like how you can give them genetic green skin the Sims 3 if you want. Ps: loved all the anti-Tory references 😉

Makin' Magic was THE BEST expansion pack. I loved it soooo much! Realm of Magic was not my cup of tea at all and witches have always been my favorite occult to play as in the game.
i think the music from (sims 1) making magic is my favorite!! ... nostalgia
i also loved crafting gnomes on some mechanical table.. i think the same one or similar to the gargoyle table... and then with magic, you can make your gnomes come alive and they would water your plants!! ugh, sooo much nostalgia!!
I’m hoping that the new magic pack will be just as extensive as it was for the Sims 3
The spinning wheel in Makin' Magic has a special place in my heart--it's the thing that first showed me that things in OLDER expansion packs could interact with things from NEWER ones--that they'd done _back_ connections. How did I learn this? When my Sim went to sleep one night, her cat started BATTING AT THE GOLDEN THREAD omg. XD
when you were saying good witch and bad witch all I could hear was Gelinda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz saying “are you a good witch or a bad witch?”
i remember that when i was 6 my sister downloaded the sims 2 harry potter which was a pirate fan made addon which wouldn’t work with the original game but let me tell you it was fire

Makin' magic was the first ever Sims game I played, I remember accidentally turning into a frog and giving up because it'd take HOURS (sims hours) to turn back and I didn't know you could speed up.
I do think it makes sense for any sim to be able to brew potions, simply because that's not really something that requires magic, simply a knowledge of the ingredients you're using.... but spellcasters being able to make better/faster potions also makes sense cause magic can surely help
Magic Town was EVERYTHING. I loved it so much.

I feel like Makin Magic was the start of my sims experience, or one of the first expansion packs I bought (or was gifted to me, I mean I was like 9). I was trying to figure if I was misremembering it and it had actually been the sims 2 but this reminded me I used to spend hours making my sims jump in magic wells.
Makin' magic is my favourite too! I was the kid to turn everyone into frogs
I wish EA would release a modernly playable Sims because I've never been able to get Sims to work. I still play Sims2 and Sims 3, but lately I've been playing a LOT of Sims 4 lol

I loved the "Perfect Garden" in TS1. It meant I could have a gorgeous English garden and not worry about it.

Just like you, magic was always my favourite aspect of the sims series. In fact, I originally bought the sims because my friend said she made a “family of witches and wizards” (by that she made black clothes on the Sims Creator)
BUT the Sims Makin Magic came and my parents got it for my birthday and oh my goodness I was addicted. Best game EVER!!!!! Just everything about it was incredible.
I was excited when they came back in the Sims 2 but like you I didn’t like how their physical appearance would change and how limited the clothing options were. I like how you can give them genetic green skin the Sims 3 if you want.
