My Gladiator came with Falken T/A. when they worn down, I had BF Goodrich installed. Deep Snow and mud were great, but not on light snow as they spun and lost traction. I had these taken off and had Falken T/A installed. The rubber on the Falken had better traction on wet and light snow. They were fantastic on deep sand and the next winter the Falken were even better in mud and snow inthe back country roads.
Am running the Falken AT Trails on my 2018 Ford Escape/ Kuga. Much improved on-road and sand/gravel performance over the Continental OEM tyres it came with. Excellent dry and wet handling, with only minimal loss in fuel economy.
Falken tires on my 2019 Rav4 hybrid with over 200,000km. I drive each winter from Alberta to Florida (lots of highway in winter and heat). Falkens are great highway tires (quiet, smooth, great dry/wet/winter traction). Biggest downside is a noticeable loss of fuel economy from factory eco tires. Cornering not as good as factory tires also of course but not bad, especially when tread is over 6/32.
So BFG are quieter and last just as long as the FalconS? These are very measureable things I would notice. I assume overall performance is roughly the same, (I'm in Sourthern Cal, not a lot of rain, a few trips to the snowy mountains per year) I probably wouldn't be able to tell the diff in performance. We also work from home, so we are not on the road every day. I wouold definitely notice tire longevity and loudness so I think I'm going BFG.
I’m trying to decide between these 2 for my 2023 jeep grand Cherokee. I spend 8 months out of the year chasing deep snow and snow storms. In the summer I’m driving on 4x4 roads to get some high alpine hikes. Any insight?
Thank you for the kind words! For frequent dirt road trips with your 2013 Honda Odyssey, the BFG offers better off-road capabilities and durability, which might be more suited for your dirtbike adventures... This goes especially when it come to dirt/gravely tracks.
@@comparethetire dumb question but does that mean the BFgoodridges are just bad? I just bought a set because I go offroading, not a ton maybe 2 to 3 times a eyar with plans to go more, but it sounding more and more like the Goodridges are only good for offroading and at that point you can get better tires for that, did I just shoot myself in the foot purchasing purchasing these?
Does this BFG comes in a 10 ply and if not, what most ply does it come in and if not in the 10 ply, would it be good on a 2500 pick up truck, what I’m saying is anything less but a 10 ply be OK, no towing involved
So basically what we’re saying here is that there is no unicorn trail terrain tire. Shocking. My other prerequisite is that it have raised lettering as that’s what my Outback Wilderness came with. However, the stock Geolander AT wasn’t that great in the snow.. even with AWD. Off road I was impressed as it walked up some steep loose grades with ease. I’ll have to decide on a tire in the next 3 months. Thank you for this comparison
Bfg trail terrain is actually the best on road oriented AT for winter traction and performance, I would be mentioning it in one of my upcoming videos (Geolandar g015 detailed review)
These tires were tested on the same exact vehicle? And all tests were conducted at the same exact temperature, wetness and snow depth, with same exact windspeed?
Yep, I tested the wet and dry performance on the exact same vehicle. Sticking with the same ride eliminates all kinds of variables that might come from different suspension setups, weight distribution, or driving dynamics. Also it helps keep things fair and consistent, so you can really see how the tires stack up against each other.
We are simply sharing our results. And we did mention that the bfg is the best on road oriented AT tire when it comes to winter performance and gravely road.
@@comparethetire You are being dishonest. Every one of your videos is a barely disguised ad for the Falken. There is no test data presented, no comparison times, etc. Just conjecture. For everyone looking at this video, I encourage you to browse for real tire tests. This is ad garbage. And Falken, you can do better than this.

Yes Wildpeak AT Trail's strongest point is its wet traction.
So you think the Falken’s are better?
what about comfort?
I really like these comparisons!
👍 Thank you
Awesome video! I am getting the BF goodrich, tire rack said they are the most comfortable
G015 is the most comfortable as per our tests but yes bfg is the close second so its also gonna do just fine.
@@comparethetire in the size I am looking into 265/70 R17 the yokohama has a 121 load index and the BF has 115
Informative and well put together video. I appreciate the detailed comparison
Glad it was helpful!
Please consider watching our other videos and sharing with others.
Love the review. Very detailed and to the point. I was acutally stuck in a dilemma between these two tires lol
Glad I could help!

Yes right on.
You’d also like their winter performance. You’ve always been running on road oriented all terrain tires?

Hmmm makes sense
Trying to decide between the two tires right now
Like I said in other comment, I'd go with BFG Trail Terrain.
Tire balance and how much weight require should be a much with any review and every comparison.
It actually differs a lot with sizes

Well if you want decent snow performance and fuel economy, go with bfg.
On roads however Falken is better.
Great detailed video.. trying to figure which all terrain tire to get for my 2013 Honda odyssey.. we ride dirtbikes so we’re on the dirt a lot

The BF Trail doesn’t evacuate water as well with the closed in outside tread. The Falkens are cheaper & a better tire all around in this comparo.
Yes of course it does, but its just not as effective as the Wildpeak A/T Trail.
Not cheaper at all.
@@DrDennis Not sure what sites you’ve price shopped then

Getting BFG Installed on my wife’s Rubicon right now. I guess I’ll have an opinion by the weekend

BFG Trail Terrain doesn't come in LT sizes, so only SL and XL load ratings are available. In terms of plys thats less than 6.
@@comparethetire
Thank you very much for the reply, six ply that might not be sufficient enough for a 2500 heavy duty pick up truck
How does these tires stack up against Coopers AT Trail tire?
Ty
Its complicated, but cooper is better on dry while falken does better on wet. Snow performance though is still better with Bfg

This is a poorly disguised ad for the Falken. The BF wins any real performance shootout against this tire and most others in it's class.
