The other fun thing with Drakengard's ending E is that it's also the reason there's no day/night cycle in the NieR titles. Seriously, the Earth starts rotating like the moon does with one side always facing the sun because _magic_ appeared with them. It apparently happened super slowly and all the animals and plants are _mostly_ fine (i see you, ever expanding desert in Automata), but still. I say all this as someone who was totally fine with not having a day/night cycle at all but was absolutely floored when I realized there was a lore reason where there didn't need to be one.

When the crazy guy with the sandwich board shouting "The End Is Near" was joined by a large cat, people just assumed he had found a pet, or perhaps a saviour, and perhaps would stabilize as a result? But then the large cat turned out to be merely pregnant, and the man continued to shout as the cat raised her four kittens in his box of signs. Then, one day, the kittens opened their eyes, all at once. A white kitten climbed up on the crazy man, opened her mouth, and started meowing. Passersby noticed the tone sounded vaguely like "You'd better get Ready To Die", but went on their merry way. The orange kitten climbed up after his sibling, smacked her off the man's head onto his shoulder, and started meowing at a different tempo. If you stuck your fingers in your ears it almost sounded like "The Art of War". A black kitten joined in, a plaintive mew that just made you want to feed it, but the grey kitten said nothing. For three days the process repeated itself, and then the grey kitten spoke. No one knows what it said. For instantly everyone exploded in a giant explosion of kittens.

They didn't invade because of Doomguy OR because we were stealing their energy. No, they invaded because that is what Hell does, they invaded after pretending to be friends with humanity. As someone who's played Dragon's Dogma, here's a fun end-of-world scenario: stabbing the dragon everyone expects you to stab. Man, that must be embarrassing for the countless people that are dead and/or forever falling down that giant pit in town that popped up.
You kill Grigori, which is basically cheering you on to do so and making it not entirely difficult... only to find that the world becomes perpetually gloomy and filled with even stronger monsters, and also triggering the opening of the Everfall, which swallows up ohhh... a good 85% of the capital. Plenty of fun loot and after game content for the player / antagonist of course, but boy do you screw the world killing that dragon...
Or how about every game of Plague Inc. ever won, where humanity was wiped out by "Pure Neglect", "Human Stupidity", "Hard Boiled Eggs" or whatever you decided to call it.

The Last Of Us: Humanity loses one of it's only chances at a cure for the mutant cordyceps that is destroying it because an idiot can't see the greater good and murders the people who know how a cure is possible. Dark Souls: Gwyn tries to cheat the cycles of life and death but only succeeds in creating the undeath plague and breaking time. Transistor: Idiots who tamper with technology that allows the manipulation of reality as if it were computer data (and may be computer data depending on how you interpret the story) set loose a Process that destroys the world with the only survivor being too traumatized to try and rebuild. And the bastards destroyed her favorite flatbread joint too. Skyrim: You avert three apocalypses. Two stupid. One in the College of Winterhold questline where you have to stop a Thalmor from using the Eye of Magnus to wipe out life in an attempt for his race to ascend to godhood. The second is Dawnguard where you have to stop an idiot named Harkon from using a different Aedric artifact to completely blot out the sun. The third is stopping Alduin from fulfilling his duties as destroyer of the world, but that may only be a temporary fix.
To be fair to Skyrim, the Thalmor are trying to 'create' their ideal world, Harkon is also trying to 'create' his ideal world (one with no sun, because Vampire), and Alduin will keep being delayed as long as his dear old dad says he will. The best part? All three are basically you defending/attacking the same god: Akatosh/Auri'el, the only divine the Thalmor worship, Alduin's dad and the god of the Sun. So you're not just his son, but his cleanup guy; let's just hope the Dragonborn doesn't go Kratos, though that does sound like it'd make for a good story for the next game...

I think one of the stupidest ways to end humanity was at the final choice in Mass Effect 3 when I got to shoot that ghost child, or alien child, or AI child, or... whatever! Either way, it was so worth it.

Flutterbutt225 Nah, it's only difficult when you over complicate things basically with each play through the true story is revealed and you should immediately start suspecting things are a miss when you bring up the fact that Caim has no way of recounting his tale so the story is being told to you by an unreliable narrator, and the more you play the more you realize what sick and twisted things actually happened, it's kind a the running gag with Yako's writing and story telling so basically Endings ABCD don't matter the true ending is E which consists of the realization of everyones darkness.

Man in the Mists it has been stated they ended up stuck in some other relm. This is supported by the fact that when the Collage mage in Skyrim tries to recreate the event, he can be summoned back afterwards, like the Daedra of the Oblivion realms. If he would have moved in time, that could not be possible, because he would not exist in that time.
12:25 I know it is just a video game but Humans have 9-25 senses depending on how you count including being able to sense where your limbs are when you can't see them, being able to sense hot and cold and being able to sense pain which is different from the sense of touch because it uses different receptors. Also if the Precursors did have the "sense" of knowledge then you think they would have "sensed" the destruction and how to avoid it.
To be fair, they didn't have any technology to evacuate the planet. If the Moon crashed, it would mean the death of everyone unless you escaped the planet

The Pikmin Series: Even though it's never explicitly said, the fact that there are still numerous living animals and plant life, remnants of human civilization, and an abundance of edible material implies that humans either simply just died out randomly, or were hunted to extinction by the wildlife you find in the game, most of which are bugs, and even the largest of which would only be about the size of a chihuahua since the characters you play as are about the size of a nickel. Either way is stupid.
The Nier story is more screwy than you think. MAJOR SPOILERS: Humanity found out how to combat the disease by basically putting their souls in stasis while new, more resilient but brainless clones of their bodies evolved on the dead Earth. The plot of Nier after the proper game starts involves you playing the replicant backup clone thing of the father, after the clones begin getting minds of their own, and the monsters you've been killing are actually the original human souls trying to claim their backup bodies.
It get´s even better: You find this out because after you play the game you can start a new game plus, which is necessary for the alternative endings. And in those playthroughs you can suddenly understand what the shadows are saying. How they are begging for release and mercy while you slaughter them.
Melancholic Ghost then its all for naught as the Shadow lord gives up after his daughter/sister (depends on version) commits suicide leading to humanity becoming extinct and androids meaningless resulting in Nier Automata
How about The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History from the Danganronpa series? The Ultimate Despair gets a few classmates to kill each other and some others to commit suicide, and this somehow causes a worldwide riot that pollutes the atmosphere and wipes out most of humanity.

Then, one day, the kittens opened their eyes, all at once. A white kitten climbed up on the crazy man, opened her mouth, and started meowing. Passersby noticed the tone sounded vaguely like "You'd better get Ready To Die", but went on their merry way. The orange kitten climbed up after his sibling, smacked her off the man's head onto his shoulder, and started meowing at a different tempo. If you stuck your fingers in your ears it almost sounded like "The Art of War". A black kitten joined in, a plaintive mew that just made you want to feed it, but the grey kitten said nothing.
For three days the process repeated itself, and then the grey kitten spoke.
No one knows what it said.
For instantly everyone exploded in a giant explosion of kittens.
I think a kitten supernova would cause a collective squee so massive that it would also destroy the world. Squeemageddon.

You kill Grigori, which is basically cheering you on to do so and making it not entirely difficult... only to find that the world becomes perpetually gloomy and filled with even stronger monsters, and also triggering the opening of the Everfall, which swallows up ohhh... a good 85% of the capital. Plenty of fun loot and after game content for the player / antagonist of course, but boy do you screw the world killing that dragon...

Skyrim: You avert three apocalypses. Two stupid. One in the College of Winterhold questline where you have to stop a Thalmor from using the Eye of Magnus to wipe out life in an attempt for his race to ascend to godhood. The second is Dawnguard where you have to stop an idiot named Harkon from using a different Aedric artifact to completely blot out the sun. The third is stopping Alduin from fulfilling his duties as destroyer of the world, but that may only be a temporary fix.
To be fair to Skyrim, the Thalmor are trying to 'create' their ideal world, Harkon is also trying to 'create' his ideal world (one with no sun, because Vampire), and Alduin will keep being delayed as long as his dear old dad says he will. The best part? All three are basically you defending/attacking the same god: Akatosh/Auri'el, the only divine the Thalmor worship, Alduin's dad and the god of the Sun. So you're not just his son, but his cleanup guy; let's just hope the Dragonborn doesn't go Kratos, though that does sound like it'd make for a good story for the next game...

The Drakengard/Nier lore is notoriously difficult to follow even if you've played all the games (I've only played Nier and Automata but holy crap).
Flutterbutt225 Nah, it's only difficult when you over complicate things basically with each play through the true story is revealed and you should immediately start suspecting things are a miss when you bring up the fact that Caim has no way of recounting his tale so the story is being told to you by an unreliable narrator, and the more you play the more you realize what sick and twisted things actually happened, it's kind a the running gag with Yako's writing and story telling so basically Endings ABCD don't matter the true ending is E which consists of the realization of everyones darkness.

This is supported by the fact that when the Collage mage in Skyrim tries to recreate the event, he can be summoned back afterwards, like the Daedra of the Oblivion realms. If he would have moved in time, that could not be possible, because he would not exist in that time.

12:25 I know it is just a video game but Humans have 9-25 senses depending on how you count including being able to sense where your limbs are when you can't see them, being able to sense hot and cold and being able to sense pain which is different from the sense of touch because it uses different receptors. Also if the Precursors did have the "sense" of knowledge then you think they would have "sensed" the destruction and how to avoid it.

They do evacuate on the final night, they just don't go far enough.
To be fair, they didn't have any technology to evacuate the planet. If the Moon crashed, it would mean the death of everyone unless you escaped the planet

I believe it's because the game cuts out BEFORE the Earth gets teabagged, Making the deaths off-screen, and therefore it might not count. The Brother Moons did look awesome, though.

The Pikmin Series: Even though it's never explicitly said, the fact that there are still numerous living animals and plant life, remnants of human civilization, and an abundance of edible material implies that humans either simply just died out randomly, or were hunted to extinction by the wildlife you find in the game, most of which are bugs, and even the largest of which would only be about the size of a chihuahua since the characters you play as are about the size of a nickel. Either way is stupid.
The Nier story is more screwy than you think. MAJOR SPOILERS:
Humanity found out how to combat the disease by basically putting their souls in stasis while new, more resilient but brainless clones of their bodies evolved on the dead Earth. The plot of Nier after the proper game starts involves you playing the replicant backup clone thing of the father, after the clones begin getting minds of their own, and the monsters you've been killing are actually the original human souls trying to claim their backup bodies.

And in those playthroughs you can suddenly understand what the shadows are saying. How they are begging for release and mercy while you slaughter them.
Melancholic Ghost then its all for naught as the Shadow lord gives up after his daughter/sister (depends on version) commits suicide leading to humanity becoming extinct and androids meaningless resulting in Nier Automata
