Wow what an absolutely beautiful throwback to vintage JEW. This really hit me. You guys didn't just take part in that scene. You changed it. You changed music. I was there. You changed our lives. Before we lived through computers. When mixtapes were actual tapes. Our internet was people. And you broke it. I'm sure it felt different on your side of the stage. That guitar sound to start off is like it’s 99 again and I’m listening to clarity on my car stereo driving home from high school. Great song from these guys who continue to deliver years later. We are all older and surely all have things we miss and wish we could change or have back. Glad they are still around to provide the soundtrack.
This band has a special place in my heart, ever since the early 2000s they keep renewing the soundtrack of my life, now as a 40 years old still feel the same when they release a new song as back in the days when I was young and listening to Bleed American in my discman.

This song is perfect. Brought me to tears. How can a song blend the nostalgia of 1982 and the mid to late 90's/early 2000's simultaneously and still be relevant and incredibly likable in 2022? I've never heard such a thing. You really outdo yourselves. I personally hear the homage to Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" , but with the vibe and breaks of the early aughts emo alt -rock. The song celebrates - that in life, some things - we win, some we lose, we can't stay stuck in our past view of what life should have been, - but that we "smile, wave and let them go" ...We are that same person we were, , that dreamer, or Rockstar inside. We need this. I need this...

This song is a BANGER. And I really want Jim's Telecaster.
The thing I really like about his signature tele is how it's actually an accurate reproduction of what he actually plays. There are SO many big Fender endorsees who may have signed off on a new design that their fans wouldn't recognise unless they were told what it was.
I also like how it's readily available at reasonable prices. For ages you couldn't get a Jim Root strat without robbing someone. And the Billy Corgan strat with the Dimarzios seemingly went to collectors; I've never met an actual musician who owns one.

I remember going to take my SATs on a sunny Saturday morning in 2002. I was blasting the "Bleed American" record with my windows down and felt an incredible energy. It's so cool that 20 years later these guys have evolved right along with me...a 37-year-old with a kid and three stepkids who still wants to tap into the youthful spirit of rock music.
My god this is astonishing. It's like you just dropped the sweetness in 2022. Seriously... easily on that level. All these older indie bands that keep trying to come back can't even get close to touching this. Great fucking song.

I remember when I was like 15 years old, I found a cd case outside on my walk home and In that cd case, I saw Jimmy eat world's future album and I listened to it, and that's how I found this band. Their still awesome

I remember when I was a kid and I begged my mom for the bleed american album on cd. Im so happy that my mom brought me to FYE and got it for me, so many hits on one disc, all of them so distinctly creative and memorable. Im so happy that all these years later you can put any Jimmy song on and it brings me back to my childhood. Thanks for being awesome!
So happy that Jim was able to find something he wanted to sing about. it's 2022 and we are still getting great new works of art. I appreciate this rare commodity. Ever since I was a kid of around 12 or so I've been waiting for new Jimmy Eat World. More often I've been in the right place for it...on occasion It took a while and had to sit on it for a few years (chase this light). Very rarely me and the art not connected (surviving). But it's still all very exciting.

Incredible how they maintain the essence even over time. I am from Argentina. I have followed them for 20 years and they marked my life. I will never forgive myself for not going to see them in Argentina 2022. They were here!!!!!!!! And I didn't go!!! Even knowing that it was almost my only chance to see them!! This song encapsulates everything that made me fall in love with the genre when I was young. This song and video are perfect and it reminds me of this feeling of appreciation for this music and still makes me believe there is something special about having lived it with my friends.

Y’all were the first band I found on my own, outside of the classic rock/country my parents raised me on. It was, Hear You Me- that song made me stop in my tracks- and after I figured out it was JEW, I bought every album since. That was over 20 years ago, and I have never come across a song I didn’t love. I wore the cd’s out, going on random drives just to blast Jimmy Eat World and work things out in my head.
So much of your music has literally saved my life, helped me through losses and bolstered my confidence and ability to believe in myself and stand up for myself.
My first tattoo was lyrics from Hear You Mean. So, thank you- and keep bringing out these gems!
