    I'm in middle of replacing timing and water pump on 2011 mitsubishi galant for my grandparents and your 3 video guide was the best one and most detailed video I greatly appreciated it helped a ton I've done timing and water pump on my 2002 toyota sequoia v8 which was a task but this was way different but easier other than no lines on the belt itself mine had lines for left cam right cam and center theirs didn't weird

    Great video, did my 03 Outlander today using this guide with no issues ...the only thing that I noticed is that the larger roller could not be change out in mine without removing the power steering compressor, and the alternator is in the rear of the vehicle. I think there was a design change after that year.
    And that water pump thing was a pain in the ass to put back on small hands help.

      Yes, generally replace everything, including water pump to save time in the long run. Kits aren't that expensive. (unless you have good records on the vehicle and know exactly when everything was replaced.)
      A "cheap" repair isn't cheap if you need tyo come back and do it again.

      From very recent experience ('03 galant, 2.4l sohc i4), no. You need to remove the belt tensioner cause some of the bolts are located underneath it, but the balancer shaft belt should be okay to leave. It doesn't seem like a big deal honestly as long as you keep all the gears in time, getting the new waterpump is more of a pain than timing itself. Just my $0.02. :)

      @Kingswood7189 ปีที่แล้ว

      @damon323 yes and yes. I will say in advance, if your mitsu has over 100k miles, I'd highly recommend replacing the timing belts (cause there's actually 2. In a short summary, the easiest way to keep time on the engine is to remove the spark plugs and rotate to top dead center #1 (requires removal of the timing cover). The cam and crank sprocket doesn't move super easy, but the oil pump sprocket (bottom right sprocket) does. Just be careful touching that sprocket. I can go into more detail later, just wanted to respond back. :)
