A shame so many American politicians do not uphold the same standards of honour and duty.
They never really cared about us.
I remember Trump did that when he was president. Shame he will win again.
Damn right. Politicians r so pathetic. Willing to sacrifice everything but themselves
because on average their sons aren't the ones doing the dyeing
As a Veteran assigned to a Funeral Detail detachment during may last years in military active service, I have to say that this movie touched the core of how this all feels. I was glued to the screen with tears remembering how special, unique , yet hard this whole process is. God bless all my veteran brothers and sisters here and beyond. #Hooah!
Hoorah Brother
Thank you for your service. I am sure all the fallen vets are now safe in God's arms, earning Heaven's reward for their sacrifice. And I am sure they are also sending you blessings from above.
Amen and Thank You for Your Service ❤❤🇺🇸
WHy would you thunk God blesses paid murderers?
A Marine Vietnam vet I cried through most of this movie SEMPER FI CHANCE
🙏👍🌹
@@Zifengtower Yeah man. Don't cry for the misery for the people who suffer because what Chance and YOU did in those countries.
I do not have any connection with the military but this movie has become one of my favorites, so impressed by the respect and caring shown to the remains of the fallen soldier.
I don't care how tough you think you are, if you want to watch a movie where you WILL be crying by the end, this is that movie. It is an outstanding movie, with Kevin Bacon at his very best. I would highly recommend you watch this movie, just have some tissues with you - you'll need them!
As a woman, Vietnam Era Navy WAVE Veteran I am deeply touched by the respectful and compassionate portrayal of such a heart wrenching subject. Kevin Bacon wore his characters role with a badge of honor. Because of the deeply sensitive nature, I had to watch this movie in increments because tears of pain warned me to take this subject very slowly. I befriended many Sailors, Corpsmen and Marines while stationed at Philadelphia Naval Hospital. I listened to their stories while watching their physical recoveries, and feeling their emotional distress. These men and women that I knew were the wounded warriors who survived Vietnam.
My sister was in the LAST company of the WACS just after her high school graduation.
I watched this movie with low expectations. I was wrong! My heart surged for the Man named Chance. Kevin's acting was superb. By the end of the movie, I have this new found respect for our Veterans. This great Republic for which it Stands, I will stand by you. A heartfelt, Thank You for all those who have fallen, to preserve our way of life and our freedom! I need more tissues!
One of the best military movies of all time. It’s nice for the public to see the end process of how our brave warriors who do not survive come home.
omg. am i the only one who watched this through tears? so good to be reminded that there are still people out there who have respect for this country, and those who are in the service of it. thank you for your sacrifice, and the sacrifice of your family. my dad went to korea at the age of 17, and came back a changed man. semper fi.
Very Powerful movie. As a fellow Veteran, there is a brotherhood, a bond among us all that shines even in our darkest days. This story of our brother helps shine that light. God Bless
Having served 40 years, this movie is incredible, really hit me hard. I have lost a few close colleagues and friends who served together with me, and it takes a long time to heal.
Such an incredible movie. Powerful, moving. Easily the best movie honoring veterans, I have ever seen. Veterans - Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Excellent movie…..will touch everyone who sees it in some way.
Excellent movie that should be required viewing to non-military people -- like me. Sad, somber, yet uplifting in how Bacon's character fulfills his duty. Too many stories today about how airplane passengers disrespect our fallen soldiers, men and women who died protecting our freedoms. Not here.
21 years in a Marine Corps uniform. Seen a lot over those years. Losing a Marine always hit’s me hard even if I did not know them. Cried watching the movie and tearing up now watching this. Semper Fidelis Marines..
Heaven is for Heroes, Semper-Fi.
I cry when I see this every time. 😢
So do I! ❤
I first saw this video Feb 2010 while flying to Paris, I didn't know anything about it and just realized at the end it was a true story. Knowing that, I busted out in tears, as it was like "too good" to be a true story..and it was!! Ever since then I watched this movie a few times a year and share it with everyone. I can tell you it's a 110% true, when one of these land at the airport, all the workers who can watch it taxi in, with an "honor guard" of airport fire trucks spraying water. Airplanes would wait their turn to taxi in/out was they unload/load. I was honored being able to witness a number of these while working at O'Hare, and 2 up close.
The best movie I've ever seen.
I did not know the care and details of our fallen heroes. This story was so touching. I must've watched it 3 times in one day, and cried each time. A MUST WATCH for all of us! ❤
My utmost admiration for the people who perform the cleanup of the deceased service men and women.
I wish people in my country having this kind of respect towards heroes too.
If anyone hasn’t seen this movie yet, you are missing out on a Fantastic movie 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤠
This is exactly how this works. Had the honor of this 1 time. I remember every second of my duty..
Very informative, but deeply sad and very respectful. A great movie. I definitely brings a tear to my eyes.
I had the distinct pleasure and honor to serve as the escort officer for 1st Sgt Edward "Smitty' Smith (USMC)...at the time of his death, he was the senior most enlisted Marine KIA in the opening month of the OIF ground offensive. It was the most difficult yet rewarding assignment (one for which I volunteered as we both served in 1st Recon Bn) I was given. To this day, I honor his memory.
Having seen the shorts on TH-cam I bought the DVD of “Taking Chance”, I watch it at least once a month. I’m a British veteran of both the Army and Royal Air Force and served for over 33 years. I still get tears in my eyes every time I watch “Taking Chance”
Taking chance still makes me Cry. very sad
I am just a British man but I have the highest respect for all people in their country who serve their country l always buy a poppy and wear it with pride we have are Remembrance Day here in the uk 🇬🇧 too give thanks for all the fallen soldiers and the soldiers who came back l thank these soldiers with all of my heart
I thoroughly enjoyed this film I wanted to go in the army after I left school but because I m parti partcially disabled I couldn't I would of love to have seen alot more of the world
I could not wait to own it on DVD.And so I own it.
Excellent description, of an exceptional movie.
Any organization, country or group capable of sending this signal to those who are in the front line has a "chance " to survive insane times. Any uniforms should be concerned.
🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸. From a ex British WO2 inf. I will always be envious of how much the USA gives respect to there fallen military personnel. However it upsets me when you hear stories concerning homeless veterans . It also hurts to think that veterans who need medical care and fail to get any. My country has the very same problems concerning our veterans. Homelessness and falling through the medical gaps. God bless my American brothers and sisters in arms.
my eyes are wet!! I can't thank enough for those who sacrificed for us!!
This is a great movie!!
A film which showed the cost of war. A very moving tribute to those who give their all for their country.
I always respect other countries service people... stop, salute, bow your head and say a prayer for the departed. The last time I was in the States, I was thanked by the TSA for my service , I didn't expect that, thank you, everybody who serves their country deserves recognition. Because a lot of people don't come home from active duty, may we all pay respect to these ladies and gentlemen.💪🇺🇸🇦🇺💪🇺🇸🇦🇺💪🇺🇸🇦🇺
Hve I kept dvd "Taking Chance"13 yrs ago but Taking Chance Beautful..

God Bless all that Fall for us. And God Bless American. May we never Forget
I simply cannot watch this movie ever again, as good as it was. I just can’t. OIF 2, 2004-2005.
As a 90 year old Limey, found this film most moving.
Made me cry like a baby 😢
I wept the first time I saw that movie, and I have every time I see it again. 😢
this a truly beautiful and heartbreaking movie semper fi
Honra e Glória aos Bravos Guerreiros! 30.13.2023
Great Movie .. definitely worth watching ❤
Loved the HBO movie. Semper Fi!
our walk fathers Veitnam to my brothers home
THE WALK OF WARS REAL A BROTHERS
The toughest job in the military is the job of a CACO.
I have seen the saltiest of Master Chief's say no more after doing one CACO call.
A good representation of the duties of a CACO.
But for the Grace of God.
Can confirm.
I was assigned CACO duties twice while serving at NSGA Homestead, FL. Neither was easy, though both were rewarding. I'm glad I won't have to do another one, though.
Love it❤
"Semper-Fi"
HOOAH!!!
I wish they would teach actors how to salute properly. It's hollywood. They got consultants for everything else.
They have not attend Marine Corps bootcamp, that’s why.
@@jhollie8196 There's nothing that bugs me more then some actor that can't salute properly. Another thing I hate is a high and tight w/ a line. It's F'n hollywood they got the top stylist in the world. Nobody can properly fade the shit!?
Duty is escorting HR which stands for human remains,
Vary touching
these men fight for your freedome and protect your life. Even from foreign countries so you can drive to work and your kids can go to school and so you can sleep at night and for other people too be free some day. To do the same thing you already do in their home country. Wy there are people that think they no how other people should live is beyond me because most of those people live 10000 miles away. These men have a familly and a mother and father brother or sister that greef for them because he died in a other country to set people free. So pay respect for the fallen they deserve it!
I knew Chance's cousins. Rest Well Marine!
Semper Fi
Really hope this rampancy of narcissism is nearing its end. Seems less and less things are deemed as sacred these days
Donde veo la película completa?????
this is why the USA is great, it is great patriots
I do not understand why he keeps saying Soldier. They were Marines. So many civilians refer to us all as Soldiers. 😒 Clearly I never went to basic training for the United States Army. I went for the United States Navy.
The movie itself is really good. The director did a great job at showing great respect for service members.
Semper fi.

湾岸戦争の頃でしょうか。アメリカはここまでして何がしたかったのか?別の映画、VICEでその真実が語られているように思います。

He is not a soldier
A very poignant movie and Kevin Bacon is as wonderful as always.
I always thought that the US invasion of Iraq was wrong but never thought so of its plans in Afghanistan but seeing what happened with Afghanistan makes me say that Maybe the U.S Govt. shouldn't send young men to fight wars for its military Industrial Complex,
