Cannot believe that 17 people gave this a thumbs down. Those 17 are a disgrace to Americans.

I stop at Chance's grave every time I travel through Dubois.... his family keeps a notebook beside the head stone for folks to sign... I leave a trinket of some kind every time I stop. Usually a new American flag for his grave.... I sign the book and tidy up and leave.... What a truely amazing story and young man... if only there were more kids like Chance, would have no more wars.... Thank you Chance for your service and sacrifice....

This movie kills me, Chance Phelps was with 3rd Batallion, 11th Marines when he passed. My husband is currently with 3/11 in Afghanistan, I can't tell you how hard I cried watching this movie. God bless our troops
    Semper Fi Chance!

I've done that duty to bring home my lifelong best friend that was killed in Vietnam. Toughest duty I ever did. Being a US Army Special Forces veteran, I was rock-steady the entire trip until I met with his parents. When his mom began to weep, I became a pile of emotional mush.

From a former Marine to my brothers here. I have a hard time watching the movie about Chance, but it does bring me hope for the people of America. I have watched it many times, and, no doubt, will watch it many more times. LCpl Phelps, rest in peace. You've earned it. Col. Strobl, it's okay. We ALL miss him.

I am speechless... My boyfriend is a Marine, and this really touched my heart... Let us not forget all the men and women who are serving/or who have served for our country. Always continue to support our troops out there, and continue to pray for all their families back home.

My husband served 4 tours to Iraq and 2 tours to Korea. Army, navy, air force, marines it doesn't matter they are brothers and sisters and that's what matters. This movie touched my soul and while we may not support this war we must support our troops! Rest in peace chance your name lives on!

I have seen the movie 3 times now and each time I choke up, this even made me choke up. Truely an epic story that should never be forgotten, about any of our troops.

I saw "Taking Chance" today and could not stop myself from crying. It was one of the most touching stories I have seen. Thank you to Lt. Col. Michael Strobl for sharing his thoughts and heartfelt emotions about his journey as an escort for Chance. God bless Chance and all our fallen soldiers.

I still don't know how they manage to do it. Truly the strongest people on earth. As long as I can help it, their sacrifice will NOT be in vain!

Omg.....R.I.P Chance and I know this is too late but I guess late better than not at all....🙏🙏 May your family be at peace....and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 💯🇺🇲👍🤝 I am from Riverton Wyoming and I remember when they brought him home and that was the saddest day I will always remember. I had a friend that was a U.S.M.C and I lost her but in a car accident on the Camp Pendleton..U S.M.C Base. The reason I'm writing this today is because I seen this movie on an ad. I was told about this movie"Taking Chance" and I started to watch it but couldn't watch more cuz this war hero is from my hometown and I cried. I'm so proud of him for taking his life to save his brothers in arms. I solute him as well as the Lt.
