As a beginner RC enthusiast, its great to see seomeone actually sending the car through the air and into the ground to show its true durability so those starting out like myself can understand what these things are capabale of before buying one. Great great video, thank you.
I really liked the style and handling of v1 but didnt like the glasslike arms and replacing the weedy plastic diffs/ring gear.

The 4S V2 trucks are the best trucks from Arrma in many years. They took the insane durability and reliability of the 3S trucks and basically added most upgrades we add ourselves while making it big enough to handle tougher terrain. Aluminum Shocks and Steel Gears allow the larger truck to handle the upgraded 4S power without much issue. Its pretty much the perfect RC that everyone has wanted from Arrma since they became a brand - Insane Durability and Reliability, Great Power, and a Good Size all in one affordable package with a warranty. But they aren't perfect and lots of us had a couple issues right away:
There are only 2 issues with these trucks (owned mine since it came out, done lots of research): The big issue for now is that the little couplers/outdrives on the ends of the driveshafts where they connect to the differentials are extremely weak and prone to failure early on. Mine literally ripped the pin straight through the plastic and turned the hole into an oval on my very first battery pack. The slipper clutch is set so loose out of the box because of this weakness - Arrma literally started changing how tight they set the slipper because of how many people broke those couplers in the first few weeks. I spoke to M2C Racing a few months ago and they said they were working on Steel Upgrade outdrives, but haven't seen anything recently.
The other issue with these trucks is minor, but still worth considering. The suspension is set up out of the box with the same stiffness as the 3S trucks using the same oil and only slightly firmer springs. Long story short - its too soft out of the box for bashing. Many people immediately broke their chassis because of how hard the trucks slam down after a large jump, with the suspension doing almost no dampening at all. It is recommended to add just a slight bit of pre-load (ride-height) to each corner as well as change the shock oil to something thicker (stock is 500 CST or 40WT) like somewhere in the area of 650-800 CST (50-60WT)
As for upgrades, you really only need 3 on these trucks to turn them into absolute tanks. All 3 of these upgrades come from M2C Racing and will make a massive difference based on how hard you are bashing: The MOST recommended upgrade is the Steel DriveShaft Couplers (whenever M2C finally gets around to making them like they said they would). The second upgrade would be the M2C Motor Mount + Brace system. The final upgrade for the most extreme bashers is the M2C Chassis Brace (stiffer suspension setup SHOULD save the chassis for most people, this final upgrade is only necessary for those who "send it to the moon" like Rich Duperbash and RCDude81 - Look them up on TH-cam.

I got this truck last year and it has been great. Was new in the hobby and it is my first and only RC car right now. Dont really feel the urge to upgrade to like a 6S or 8S because this 4S has been so good for me.
I got 55wt in the shocks and have put 10k oil in the diffs and i have installed a 14T pinion and i got a 35kg servo on the way. Put a dusty cover on it to keep debries out of the chassis and the car has been super solid. Havent broken a single part so far.
Dude I got the outcast version 2 and the thing is so much fun. It’s light weight and actually hauls butt. It does crazy backflips and with the revised axles it almost never breaks. I modified the servo linkage a bit and got a perfect pass servo into it and the steering is amazing now. I took a pivot type shoulder screw from the sledge drag link and it fit almost perfect into the servo linkage. It’s a light weight little monster machine for sure

I have this truck, I'm running a Futaba receiver, I also tightened up the slipper and I changed the battery lead to a XT90. The thing hauls butt for sure!
That looks like the smoothest truck I have ever seen on your track. I bought the K4 and O4 as sliders on eBay, stuffed the new Max8 G2 combo with the 4s motor. Did the slipper clutch eliminator through HR, and every single HR upgraded part that they make for them.

Yep it's a runner!!! My Outcast is too. I may have to get a Kraton to have something smaller than my Sledge that isn't as wheelie-happy as the Outcast. The only thing I've done to my Outcast is the M2C motor mount... and of course the GT5 radio. I'm eager to see more of this on your channel. I bet it has the capability to set a track record.

@@flat-out i love my sledge it’s definitely can’t be compared to 4s Kraton V2, however to get the sledge to be completely almost perfect for myself, i had to put about $250 into it.

I had a longer can 3674 the stock motor is only 700watts and Picked up higher watt motor and it rips also switch to 4 s hobbywing esc more but no to much just that little extra pep.

Is there any way to tighten the steering? I’ve had mine since September and it seems like the steering got kinda weak.

4:34 dont put a pip anywhere near it. all that will do is create a ramp so the car gets airborne and smacks it head it on. either dont put anything or make a wall perhaps with an slight undercut.

I put a Amazon 25kg servo in my vorteks and had to reverse the steering and now my gyro doesn’t counter steer in the opposite way like it should, good thing I don’t really use it lol

If the gyro doesn’t put a bigger smile on your face, then it isn’t needed. If it puts a bigger smile on your face, then it’s needed, so it depends on the individual.

these are the best 1/8 trucks out there . hot body threaded bleeder shock bodies (HRAATF155AR08) and (HRAATF155AF08) and mx38 tires make these awsome ! stay with rpm parts and keep it light . proline 1/8 1980 chevy pick up looks wicked on it part number PRO324800 . the other big help is a Ceramic Sealed Bearing Kit
