Picked up the Kraton 4s v2.5. Soaked it down in wd-40. ordered a stainless steel chassis skidplate, suspension travel limit straps and chassis dirt cover. Will do the center diff 500k and shock oil.
@chrisginoc I never had a chance to install upgrades or even drive tthe Kraton 4s yet. Ended up buying the Kraton 6s v5, the Vorteks 4x4 blx, a senton and a baja rey black rhino. Most of my time has been spent getting the Vorteks and the Baja Rey to be happy with a 150a esc on 4s🤪🤑
@chrisginoc it comes down to the size of the area you have to drive. Can you handle the power/size of Kraton 6s. Heck 4s isn't much smaller. I am migrating over to Arrma 3-4s because of the driveline design with NO diff cups. Something else to keep in mind is the Bigger and Faster (6-12s)the truck the more it will break, higher maintenance then 3-4s rigs. Bash-On🤪👍
Yeah I'm more into the long chassis bashers but if I was to get a short chassis it would probably be the new 4s outcast before most other stunt trucks on the market👌
Thanks Robbie😁 It is definitely a machine especially considering it's a full plastic chassis. Got to get the big ramp out very soon and properly send this and some of my other rigs🤪🤘
Great video man. Love the DIY stuff. I'm still new in this hobby, got two 1/16 scale cars. My Mjx 16207 reminds me of the car in this video, just a smaller version.
I know what you mean kind of, I fly fpv race/stunt drones and I had multiple 300kph+ planes but nothing has the same effect as a basher smashing a ramp and doing a double flip🤷😅
@@rccrazy yeah man, and if a plane crashes or a Drone it's pretty much done for, a write off. Cars stay on the ground. Can't damage them that bad. Much cheaper as well.
Nice video buddy the kraton 2.5 looks a lot stronger than the V2 I went through 3 of them chassis you still can't get the new chassis thay are still selling the old ones in Oz so I thought bugger it so I got the majove chassis and put into it just had to redo the side skirts put 2 new holes in the front of a Kronos body and made a new centre brace and what a beast it is no more broken chassis and I Run 90 Waight shock oil to can't wait for your next video cheers 👍👌🤟😎
I got in contact with modelflight regarding the new version chassis which they didn't know about it. Anyway, they have just put an order in for 10units now, and eta is 4-6 weeks.
Wow sounds like you made yourself a beast for sure💪 I am definitely loving both Mojave and Kraton, little disappointed about the Mojave chassis but the carbon plate and skid plate have made it 10× stronger so hopefully I have a indestructible beast on my hands aswell🤞😅 Thanks heaps mate, got some cool upgrade vids coming🤩
Would 60c 4s lipo battery be sufficient to run in this truck? Thinking of using a 5300mAh Gens Ace battery, would you recommend or should I use a different battery?
I have kind of done those sorts of videos but a lot has changed since then, I will have to do another one I guess. I probably need to do a general channel update vid aswell but I don't want to make it just a boring update🤔😅
Your welcome mate, absolutely lovin this weapon bar the steering of course, it's a bit sleepy at the moment😴😅 And I would imagine a 40-50 foot jump would be possible given the right circumstances, 70feet when we go 6s🤣 No I won't be pushing it that far.

Hey im now thinking about the arrma kraton 4s blx v2 do you know whats the biggest 4s i can fit in it id like ovonics or zees but i Didn't reslly know the size of the tray
Just measuring the lipo bay in mine, it's around 155mm and about 55mm wide. If you mean the actual v2 rather than this v2.5 I can't help, haven't got the older one.
@rccrazy I looked it up on the arrma page which I should have done in the first place and it's 165mm so yea thanks anyway how's your cat carrot going now?
I got mine from Modelflight.com Where I get all my bigger cars. But you mentioned 165mm, the lipo bay in the newest version isn't 165mm it's 158mm to be exact and depending on the style of lipo when you take the wires into account you may loose a little more length so the cells themselves technically can't be longer than like 150mm. My Youme 6500mah 4s lipos definitely do not fit. Oh and Carrot is a trouble maker now, healed and insane😅
Nice mate went into plenty of detail what you were doing to the car and explaining everything 😁 Skid plate looks great roughly how long did it take to cut it and shape & file it all nice? Did you find out why it changed in sound did the motor move? Enjoyed as always mate I know you seemed disappointed that you were only doing small jumps etc but it’s still great to watch mate! Yeah mate I'm slowly remembering to mention and show everything😅 The skids took about 1 hour each from stencil/design to finish. I just pre drill all the inner corners that I can't cut with the jigsaw and it makes things so much quicker, very easy to work with even 6mm polycarbonate and because its clear you can worry about mounting positions when it is finished👌 Didn't figure out the noise yet, well it kinda just stopped but i will check the gears and everything next video, got some upgrades to go on aswell😁 Honestly I do get a little bored because there, I do prefer much bigger jumps, many RC cars are capable of much more as am I just to toot my own horn for a second🤭 As always Michael, I really appreciate the your support and love your comments!

How much fluid do we need per shock? How do we know how much to use? Same for the diff how do we know when its too much fluid lol. Just worried about under/over filling? Sorry for the dumb question I'm newbie. Also what shock weight do you recommend for my kraton 4s. I usually bash on a BMX track jumping alot.
Not dumb questions but in regards to the shocks I did specifically say in the video for bladderless shocks you can fill it all the way up, but if your not running bladderless then you have to remember to leave a little room for the bladder as excess oil can cause extra spring action. Oh yeah and if it's over flowing it's too much😅 Diffs are similar, leave room for all the gears and your good, diff oil is designed to run not stick so it doesn't have to be completely full as it will lubricant the gears while the car is moving. I run rather stiff shocks so for bmx tracks personally I would go with 80-100w in the rear and 50-60w in the front (with stock springs)
I normally use around 80k to 100k in the front diff. But if you want it to stop doing wheelie you would need thinner oil than 500k in the centre. Thinner oil should stop wheelie but not great for bashing because the front and rear wheels don't work together(different wheel speed)and the front wheels will balloon like crazy.
If you ever put in 1 million in the center diff, could you do a short video on how it runs? I have same kraton 4s v2.5, did 90wt oil in shocks, 500k in center. Factory recommended. Thank you.
Yes I will do a video if or when I change it, I have no 1 mill oil at the moment but I need to do another oil order soon anyway, hopefully I have enough money next pay day🤞
Howdy from Texas :) Did you find the 500K too stiff? I'm planning to upgrade the servo, servo saver, and motor/esc to a HW combo. I have 80K & 1M, so I'll start with the 80K.
Hey mate👋 So 80k in the centre diff will be far too thin, the front wheels will balloon like mad! Definitely 500k or thicker, I definitely need to swap to 1m.
Thanks. Arrma site says K4s v2.5 center is 100K stock. I was thinking stock weight was heavier. Maybe I should just mix some 80K w some 1M, on top of the stock fluid. This is a 0 hour truck. Maybe 2 parts 1M, to 1 part 80K, plus what 100K is in it?@@rccrazy
Yes honestly the stock oil seems much thicker than 100k🤔 Oh well, so I would actually just top it up with the 1m oil, if you bash anything like me in some situations 1m is kinda needed. If you really don't think you'll need that thick then yeah sure mix as you please, 2 parts 1m to 1 part 80k should be similar to running 500k I would think. Let me know how it goes🙂
Not exactly sure what stock weight is but from feel yes it feels about twice the viscosity. The front I only added a tiny bit to top them up so it would have barely changed just not void at full stroke now👌 I notice the tiniest things but a void mean no oil and no oil no rebound or dampening, it was only a few mm bit I could feel they needed topping up😅🤦
I used TLR Team Losi Racing oil but there are hundreds of brands that produce every viscosity, 1w to 20 million weight and probably thicker. If I google 90w shock oil I get numerous results.
Love ginger in the intro 😁
