    Yeah, the paper/rock/scissors way of balancing is just really not there in 2042. Everything you mentioned here is on point. Sundance has also really blurred the front line too. Although it’s fun to play as her, it just makes it too easy to flank. Hitting a good flank used to be high risk, high reward, now it’s just die, oh well, spawn and fly back to the same flank again.

      Yeah same with Mckay. Everyone can just be everywhere anytime, which completely takes the strategy and skill out of movement, positioning and flanking.

      I agree. I think Sundance ruins the breakthrough gameplay of holding the front line.

      I have thousands of hours on previous titles, but won't play 2042. What breaks it for me is Mckay and Sundance. As you and others have pointed out, it's too OP being able to move around the map like that. A superhero game, not BF.

      This is partialy true, Its fairly easy to find these flankers as they are flying and a lot of them are not good at it. The best fun is NTW-50 them mid air :D

    finally u are the first adressing this issue! i was a vehicle player helicopter and jets and ffs 2042 is horrendous. I hate the arcade feeling of vehicles, and the auto pitch up for dummies on helos too

      You can turn off the assist, but I totally agree.
      Bf4 helicopter main was skill and talent not this garbage

      @@visiblehiggs130 can you really tho? I have it turned off but it still auto corrects pitch. It’s most noticeable when diving down on targets, or any extreme angles of attack. it keeps trying to pull the nose up off my target. Maybe I just have a glitch

    As a tank main in previous battlefield game, i can confirm that tank is the shittiest and most underpowered vehicle in the game. Enemy infantry, helicopter and jet can take u out easily because of the following reasons. First, the turrets rotation is slower than ww2 tanks, thr vertical angle.for a turret is so small, the tank itself moves and rotates very slowly in a way that if an infantry shot u from behind, he will change position by the time u rotate. It is just unplayable. The only way to get some kill is just to camp. In previous battlefield game, tank was used to push the objectives with infantry and create flanking and attacking opportunity buy pushing the enemy.

      So true, people complain about how attrition was the reason why tanks camped so much in BFV but the tanks in this game are so awful I can play more aggressively with the panzer/staghound in battlefield v

      Also (again) the open spaces on the maps are death traps for tanks, I've had some good games where I could park my tank behind cover, but most of the time there isn't any cover and you just get farmed by the TV missiles and aircraft

      Yes there’s been plenty of times I’ve gotten stuck out in the open with a tank and I’m able to just run around it throwing M5 rockets at it. Then the player just gets out and we fight mano y mano.

      Couldn't agree more. I didn't get chance to cover the tanks in this video, but they really need some love as well. They are most certainly at the bottom of the pile, and now with the TV missile you can take them out from behind cover without even sticking your nose out, don't even get me started on C5 drones !

      I was a jet main in bf4 but in 2042 something feels off with the jets to me not sure what it is so now im a heli main somethimg which in bf4 i couldnt fly to save my life

    Another point is that the wildcat is more effective against infantry than air vehicles so even if someone picks a wildcat over a tank they’re probably going to focus in infantry anyway

      The wildcat needs air radar like the AA had in BF4.

      Hmm strange, I gotta say that's not my experience of using the AA at all, I seem to be easily able to wreck most air vehicles with it. It does depends on the map though, on Exposure it's hard to get into a good position due to the map design.

      @@GhostGamingg A wildcat vs a good Condor/Hind or jet (with AGMs) pilot with full crew gets you dominated pretty easily. Not to mention that planes can simply dive bomb you all day long and you can't get a firing solution on them as your gun elevation only goes up so much and they're out of missile range before a lock.
      I've unlocked Tier 1 for the wildcat and it can be good but sometimes it is simply a nuisance to the pilots.

      I hear yeah but I always hated bf4 as a solo player. I had to play medic so I could heal myself but then I couldn't use the best weapons since I wasn't assault. To me that made Infantry gameplay terrible in bf4. Which is important since 90% of players in each game are infantry

    The main thing I hate are the fact that helis have the same flight ceiling as jets. And that helis can keep up with a Condor, an aircraft running on FUCKING JET ENGINES.
    Also jet pilots, if a helicopter is just following you. Put a lot of distance between yourselves and go head on.
    Or try attacking from above, below or behind. Because chances are the pilot is spamming heat seekers.

    DICE should just eliminate the shared pool amongst vehicles and give each tab its own spawn count. That way changes like separating Jets from Heli's won't be needed because they will have their own amount. For example Jets 2/2, Attack Heli's 1/1, Stealth Heli's 1/1, Scout Heli's 1/1. They would probably even be able to 0/0 a vehicle for a given map where it's not needed.

      @@Smaxx Hardline may have had it beforehand, but I don't remember much of that game other than it being basically "What if DICE LA tried to make CoD with BF's gunplay?" but still having a couple useful features BF4 needed (like being able to take ammo off a friendly without them dropping a box)

    Something I think you were trying to get at when you were talking about fulfilling rolls is ironically with everybody being a specialized specialist nobody is no longer special everybody can use anybody’s gadgets and granted there are specialties like using a grappling hook or flying in a wing suit and they do at a level to the gameplay however the main things that really matter who is giving ammo or who’s got an AA launcher to deal with that helicopter becomes crazy at a balanced I agree with everything you said I hope this makes those changes you seem like a good member of the community who knows what he’s talking about!

    Not a bad video but you left out alot of things. First off, in BF4 you had many more options to taking out a heli including the mobile AA(which was much better than the 2042 wildcat) and also tanks had a soflam that could be used as a passenger so 2 squad mates could work together to 1 shot heli's and make quick work of other tanks as well since a soflam hit did much more damage. Additionally the little birds in BF4 didn't have rocket pods...it was either use the miniguns(bad for infantry but great at taking out heli's) or the 30mm cannons that were "ok" at taking out infantry but sucked against heli's, and the secondary was a lock on for vehicle combat only. And even the attack heli's required teamwork to farm infantry with the pilot typically having rocket pods that were meant specifically for anti vehicle use and then a secondary lock on or tow missile. Those new stealth heli's are essentially an infantry farming machine by having 30mm cannons available to the pilot and the bombs. As a PS5 console player you need to understand that the TV missile is actually broken in several different ways for us, for one it can do a 180* turn out of nowhere for no reason, and also when we(controller players) boost the rocket we have about 1/10th the actual control that m&k players do. Honestly I would recommend playing on PS5 with Lis for a few games using the TV missile and let me know your thoughts. They really should separate PC players from console as its not even a fair fight.

    I am genuinely concerned about the balancing team at dice. I refuse to play infantry due to the poor performance, mouse input and specialist system, so i tried to stick to vehicles. My god have they got it all wrong.
    Regarding my own background, I play infantry and vehicles equally. I've spent hundreds of hours researching, experimenting and practicing my infantry gameplay and I'd say i have pretty good mechanical skill and gamesense. I know to switch to the best loadout to deal with aircraft when others can't be bothered, and as an aircraft I put just as much effort into map reading, aiming and situational awareness to improve my game.
    it's impressive how much they managed to break a system that worked brilliantly before. I seriously hope that they actually take this info and feedback from other pilots in and actually make an effort to do something rather than ignore the glaring issues that can be easily resolved. I agree with all your points and felt the same way since launch, heck I pledged to myself that I wouldn't use the anti infantry pods on the nightbird because I advocate for their removal, and the miniguns are not a suitable replacement.
    needless to say i've outright stopped playing now, and won't until they do something. Since the jets STILL don't have a functional rear cam, a roll camera toggle, and their weapons and physics are downright dull. The heli's have had some kind of flight assist forced on you now and actively fight against my every move. Even if I wanted to say, fly a jet, I could go 10 straight games and never see another pilot.
    it's utterly unacceptable and I'm fearing that maybe this is where the entire franchise crumbles as it's clear that dice do not know what to do.

      @@brazy6491 I have flight assist off in the settings, and can confirm it is off through the config files saved to my pc. Others have reported the same issue so it simply isn’t a difference in skill, it’s a bug they introduced this last patch that seemingly activated it regardless of what you have it set to in the menus.
      And get a new pc? Bruh I have a 3080 an r5 5600x, you can’t get much better than that and compared to bfv it’s shockingly bad.

      @@gamingeuphoria7928 it doesn’t even allow for pitch or roll control, which is kind of important in a dogfight and after a ground strafe. So it may show what’s behind you (if the camera doesn’t glitch through the model itself) but it can’t be used in a dogfight at all and using it will instantly put you at a disadvantage.

    In BF3 & 4, 1 and 5 road kills were rare which made them so much fun. Upon release of 2042 I was getting road killed 10 times a game. Since the new map Exposure came out I've been roadkilled exactly once in two weeks. I also used to carry a SOFLAM on the release maps since many players had a lock on weapon which kept the helis at bay. Since Exposure no one carries lock on weapons anymore and almost all use the new camera missles, horribly I might add. Now helis are worse than before especially the new stealth attack heli.

    The problem is not enough vehicles on field at a time. They need to be able to fight each other they also are under powered against anti air and and other vehicles im my opinion

    The weapon damage you're mentioning… it's BS, but it's the same BS with infantry weapons. Why would you ever use a bolt-action rifle or DMR if you can snipe with assault rifles or even SMGs just the same way? The DMRs specifically totally suffer from this. Even the LMGs will at times be more devastating and accurate even at long ranges. It just doesn't make any sense…

    Them reducing the number attack air vehicles was a big mistake, not only is it harder to get one, but to use the new stealth helis that are actually a very good counter to the transports. They need to bump it up to 2 or have 1 heli and 1 jet per team. Can’t tell you the amount of times I’m on a good streak or on my way to get a flank just to get killed instantly by a transport. They ruin the flow and balance of games, and barely anyone keeps them in check either.

    My opinion is the issue of trying to push all in the same tier for the attack aircraft. They shd give planes a seperate column.
    Though i tend to relate to whats real like the F35 role being a state of the art multi role fighter or what they call joint strike fighter, its meant to perform all types of engagements, AA, A-G. F22s and su 57s are dedicated air superiority fighters

    I love vehicles overall in battlefield. One of 2042s main problem is that it has horrible vehicles vs vehicles and vehicles vs infinity. Bf4 wasn't perfect but i think it had a pretty damn good system going. That also helped each map have a unique vibe when it came to vehicles which could make boring maps fun. Its such a shame they won't just switch over to the bf4 system for 2042. Engineer was my favorite class in bf4 and i really wish 2042 could have a similar feel

    You nailed it. I have yet to get a stealth chopper because I refuse to sit in the spawn screen until one pops up. They painted themselves into a corner with vehicles in this game and they need to revert to BF4's spawn system to give themselves more tools to refine balance. Golmud Railway had 2 MBTs, 1 MAA, 2 helos, and 2 jets per faction plus an artillery truck and an additional Little Bird tied to spawns. That is the equivalent of 16 attack vehicles by 2042's standards versus _2_ attack vehicles and 2 OP transports in every map for 2042.

    I found the vehicles more balanced in bf3 than bf4, where the nightbird didn't have those rocket but only the machin gun

    I have a love-hate relationship with vehicles as a primarily infantry focused PTFO-er who is experienced with vehicles *because* I care about winning. Vehicles contribute meaningfully to situation variety, which I appreciate. I think I'd get bored if I did not have to deal with vehicles every once in a while or get back up from one.
    I think my problems with them in every single battlefield is how they are distributed via spawn screen that any determined schmuck can access and that matches don't balance specifically for vehicle user skill but permit vehicles to be the primary tool to win matches.
    As someone who cares about winning the match, it's really obnoxious when I feel pressured to use vehicles. I'm actually better than the average player in vehicles due to *begrudging* experience, but I have never enjoyed *using* vehicles that much and resent it when my team lacks a dedicated vehicle user of some kind while the enemy team has a full set. It leads to one of two situations:
    1) I grit my teeth and jump in to fill in the gap. Significantly improving my teams chances of winning.
    2) I refuse and continue playing my prefered infantry class, and accept a higher likely-hood of a loss. And then when I do lose wonder if I should have just jumped into a vehicle.
    I deeply resent both situations.
    I think the solution is that players/squads before even being placed in a match or team, select whether they are going to be vehicle focused or infantry. Then split up groups into teams of equal vehicle players and infantry players/squads. Where vehicle users can only spawn in as vehicles but get match-long first dibs, and infantry can only call in air dropped vehicles if they go unclaimed for a set amount of time.
    This is probably never going to happen though.

    I was downvoted to oblivion for saying these same things. What vehicle balance there was has been destroyed. It’s not rare to see the same helicopter ripping through an entire match without going down. It’s ridiculous.
    EDIT: Just to add, I also think TV guided rocket direction and notification needs to be removed from aircraft pilots. It’s fine if they’re alerted to a rocket being fired but knowing exactly where it’s coming from and the direction it’s flying is too OP and renders TV missiles nearly useless against aircraft especially since it isn’t a lock on weapon.

    I feel like Vehicles could be more balanced If you had access to to more AT weapons. Like in Battlefield 4 you had the SMAW which did less damage than the RPG but was more accurate. Or the Javelin missile which was guided but took time to aim, and the MBT Law which was an all-round good anti tank weapon. And it was not overpowered vehicles had different countermeasures to chose from which did different things. Smoke work against normal launchers while thermal smoke worked against javelins and Vehicle mount anti tanks systems. The was also the Active protection system which stop all projectiles put took a long time to recharge. There was a lot more depth and this were all generally more balanced.

    Could not agree with you more in battlefield this is how they stated it they said they wanted to make a sandbox and in the sandbox you’ll have people fighting each other and then you’ll have a tank fighting people but to take out the tank you either need a rocket launcher C4 or another tank or a helicopter but then they take out the helicopter you need another helicopter a stinger or a plane it was always a rock paper scissor system which works really well I don’t believe the devs of the current die studio know or care about this at all

    What do you all think would happen if there was a way to make a Classic 4 Class system 'gametype' like old Battlefield within Portal? Food for thought, I think many people would come back to at least give it a go.
    Thanks for bringing this up Ghost. I've only been playing on a Portal server where there are no transport helis! Not the best way to fix it but there have been some fun matches.

    Realy on point. I think one of the main problems is that that bullets rockets and flares are restored much too fast. I wished they would have taken the System from BF5 where they have to fly to points and get reload there.

    If DICE already decided that specialist won't go away, they just need to categorised the specialist to which class they should be and what gadget they can only use.
    Base on how the specialist works, 3 classes are only relevant on 2042: Assault/Medic, Engineer, Recon.
    Assault class can equip: First Aid Kit, Ammo Crate, Smoke launcher.
    Engineer class can equip: AA/AT launchers, Mines, Repair Tool, and C5
    Recon class can equip: Beacon, Soflam, and C5
    Other gadgest like med pen and armor plate can be used on any specialist.
    A simple and no brainer fix that Dice won't even do.

      @@johnoneill3654Still be 1 gadget since the specialist has their own specific gadget.
      But this will vastly improve the variety of playerz using different kinds of specialist depending on the situation.
      For example, you won't see everyone using sundance since she's categorize as an Assault. Currently she's way too overpowered as people tend to equip her with C5 and launchers making sundance like a flying tank.

      I can also see some kinks though such as who would bother with a repair tool of it's the only gadget you can use.
      You'd want to make sure you'll be in or around vehicles all the way. If this was the case I reckon people would stop using it after a while.
      I don't think the hero ability should be considered a gadget imo. I believe it would take away from the potential of classes.
      But tbh we'll probably never know 🤷‍♂️

    Concerning the switching of classes and loadouts, it indeed sometimes feels like a chore to switch everything in your loadout in 2042, back in the bf 1942 days, things were much simpler, four classes with only 1 dedicated gadget to that class. If you play BF casual, and look at the loadout and specialist choices... they are just overwhelming, even with my 100+ hours playtime, I still don't know all the different gadgets and loadout options...

    This is why I play breakthrough, sometimes the vehicle balance is off completely but a lot of times it feels nice the the attacking team doesn’t get a Attack vehicle but only a hind and a tank so 32 people can body it or the attackers can use their resources appropriately

    The simplest way possible for dice to fix this imo is for them to separate the wildcat in a “light multipurpose vehicle” category and separating the jets in a “fighter jets” category
    That way no matter what’s happening with attack vehicles you’ll always have some jets and mobile AAs to take care of them and of course jets and AAs balance each other out, as for the tanky transport vehicles if its the air or ground vehicles the jets and wildcat can help with just a little bit more firepower options to work with
    We have to remind ourselves that even if there are a lot if infantry a good chunk of them are probably vehicle players not able to pick their favorite vehicle

    So I'm like the opposite type of player as you. I am basically 100% infantry, but I never hesitate to take an antivehicle loadout out if a vehicle is causing issues.
    I think you really explained the issues of vehicle balancing well. It really does seem to be the worst situation for infantry and vehicle players. Just yesterday I spent an entire match trying to take down an attack heli in a Caspian border rush match. Randoms are just very rarely willing to change things up to go after a vehicle that is an issue, and the vehicle and pilot become super annoying when they became damn near impossible to take down alone.
    Vehicles IMO are just annoyingly suppressive in 2042 and the tankiness of them translates horribly to 64 player or 32 player game modes where inevitably you'll have even less people willing to put on an anti vehicle loadout.

      Tanks have no counter to anything but maybe lock ons. You are a sitting duck out there with no AP. Less armor means you are going to die instantly.

    I would also like to see a improved AA vehicle. when I'm driving one do I get killed by aircrafts with out being able to damage them a lot. When I see the AA vehicles driving around, then are they more used as anti infantry then as a anti air.

    Agreed with everything you said! I'm normally the type to play as engie almost all the time and take out vehicles, but those transport helis are WAY too tanky to deal with. All you can do is hack them and get them to leave for a short while.

    I play air defence with two other team mates and it only ever takes three sams to bring down a transport the secret is all three have to be launched at once. Against night birds and attack choppers you always fire in pairs. The job of air defence is to either destroy the aircraft or keep then off the map when their flared and scared or they are tied up trying to kill just two or three people.

    Well not on the topic of vehicle balance. A minor thing about vehicles did like in bf4, 1 and 5 is when you damaged a vehicle, it would say the exact or roughly the amount of damage you did to that vehicle in bf1 and 5 it also gave you the amount of damage you have dealt to enemy players as well.
    Also another thing bf4 did very well was each map had it own set of vehicles and each vehicles had it’s own spawn box thing on the menu and then starting with bf1 minus infantry only maps you could basically have any vehicle on any map and you had a heavy bomber on the map infantry players lives would turn into hell especially if you were playing operations

    Because any of the 64 other players could run Sundance, Liz, and/or Rao (and most players revolve towards them) you can shutdown a vehicle solo or with just two players with the right loadout and tactics. Sundance can flank vehicles from above and drop c5 in the air (or sneak up to a vehicle from above to drop c5 on it from behind) Liz has infinite rocket spam with no down sides besides being uncontrollable but can be negated by just sitting somewhere hidden and shooting the rocket from miles away, and Rao literally disables your vehicle to the point all you can do is run away.
    Combined with everyone being able to carry a launcher with any specialist (except Liz) and anyone being able to use soflam to make recoiless tracking, it’s game for any tank or aircraft that pushes an objective. I really feel like the specialist system personally is massive power creep with the amount of flexibility players can do with their load out compared to the old class system from past entries.

    We will never have a perfect balance for sure. My gripe is when I am able to spawn a vehicle I always get blown up lol seems like I can never stay alive as long as some do which is annoying

    good video made alot of valid points but you never mentioned the horriable spawn system for on foot players.
    alot of the base maps makes you spawn in a open field and run 50m to the objective making you easy pray for vehicles.
    on the new map i have had up to 14 death sprees just from trying to spawn in.
    everything from a death from nothing to spawning in the tunnel inside a enemy vehicle.
    on the map with the huge wall the 2 objectives by ru spawn its always a field spawn run towards bullete or death by chopper b4 you can move.
    i would swear in court on a bible 60% of my deaths are from vehicles i had no counter too 25% of my deaths are just trying to spawn in.

      honestly i think they made the right call with the Bolte. it's already a fairly easy kill plus you can get shot out of it with small arms and they did nerf the 30mm so that it kills more slowly than a DMR. there's really nowhere left to go with nerfing it except to make it totally ineffective and unfun. the problem was that there could be as many as 6 per side which was overwhelming to infantry.

    I think set vehicle spawns on flags should also return (correct me if this is already a thing). It distinguishes objectives and gives them more meaning, e.g. a flag that spawns a tank is probably more impactful than a flag that spawns a car, although cars are still important for transport and flanking. Another flag might not have any vehicle spawns but it's still a valuable objective because it's in a strategic position with good defences.

    It's also not fun as a vehicle player now either. You spawn in a tank, you get 8 Lis rockets flying at you. You spawn in an attack heli, you get 2 Raos, 4 stingers, 4 Lis rockets and a SOFLAM targeting you. It's not even worth flying anything other than a stealth now to get the 2 counters.
    Jets are completely useless now that transport helis with 50mm canons can just sit at the ceiling and even if you remotely try and attack them the 2 mini gunners just shred you. A jet will never ever take them down solo either if they have even a single repair crew

    This is really eye opening. I thought they couldn't have more vehicles just because of the terrible maps, but it looks like there's more to it.
    I still think maps being literal giant deserts with no cover makes it easy for the 4 nightbirds to just fly around killing uncontested

    I think the biggest part of the vehicle imbalance is the map design. In the heli, you can see everything from above but on the ground the is no cover or place to run to. So vehicle are able to have a field-day attacking running across open terrain. Not only this but the soldiers are very easily visible even through smoke.

    honestly, it’s pretty easy to eliminate the transport helicopter. You just need two players with AA, one player with AA/M5 plus one with SOFTLAM, or one player with AA plus one as Rau (for the hacking ability). This are just some examples. If the pilot is dumb and remains at an high altitude for too long it is even easier

    They need to add an extra column to the vehicle selection tree. Like how are you going to put jets and helicopters in the same vehicle selection? It should be 2 to 3 jets. 2 attack or stealth helicopters . 2 transport. 2 scout helis this will force the aircraft to pay more attention to the sky and only use ground strikes as opportunities. (Reason I said 3 jets was in case they bring attack jets to base game it would be 2 stealth jets 1 attack or 2 attack jets and 1 stealth ) or maybe 4 with 2 and 2 knowing the whole wingman thing

    They need to add below radar protection like it has in Battlefield 4. It was a another risk to reward system. There was plenty of trees that could take you out if you didn't know the map very well and it also gave infantry plenty of opportunity to take the air vehicle with a straight shot rocket. But the most important reason to have below radar protection was to avoid a overwhelming situation where you low on health and you ran out of active protection and you just need to evade and get back towards your spawn point for protection.
    Also why isn't there some type of Spawn protection at the base of every team? No stationary AA gunner? It wasn't overpowering for the AI driven Stationary AA gunner.
    I'm a vehicle player but a over all balanced player when it comes to both vehicles and infantry gameplay and I strongly agree with everything you mentioned in this video.
    The 50mm cannon needs to be removed from the Transport helicopter that's my number one gripe for that vehicle.

    Very true Ghost. I was a hardliner Falck, always picking her because that's what I was used to play ever since BF3 : medic. Since the last season and the new map, I gave Paik and Rao a chance and wow, it's really fun to annoy those helicopters and very occasionally tanks, makes defending a map in BT sooooo much more fun. If only more people would play those ones... If I only knew earlier. My loadout for the rest is always the same : BSVM or M5A3 or PP29, special ability depending on attack or defense (I only play BT), C5 and smoke. Sometimes its a lose game anyway, but at least I annoyed some sweaty helicopter players. So I agree 100% : people should give anti vehicle specialist a try. It's not always the most flashy and sometimes you have to wait out a bit, but it's rewarding.

    I just do the complete opposite to not bother with any aircrafts trying to have fun that way.
    I cant be asked to redeploy just to switch my ammo box to anti vehicle weapons to then die like 5 times and end up to be one of the two people (out of the 32 or 64) trying to take it down while it repairs to 100% anyways.

    Another flaw with the vehicle spawn system is that there is no guarantee that you can get an AA tank if your team keeps spawning MBT's to counter an air dominant team
    Oh and even when a team mate spawns in one it might not have anti air weapons lol

    I played rush in the jungle map. It was possibly the worst map to play that for defense. The map basically a long road with shacks and small defense, the attackers for some reason get 2 tanks and 1 helicopters. The only anti tank stuff r rpgs or c4 and since it’s a long dirt road sneaking is impossible and rpg do no damage and they can just back and heal. We even got all there tickets and still lost due to not being able to cut the bomb in over time since the tanks just non stop kept shooting at it

    There is the event game mode currently, where you can play classic BF maps mixed in the base game maps, but I kept getting the new map or some other BF2042 map. So damn annoying they don't port more Portal content into the base game. Also my lobbies are often filled with many AI bots.
    Also I still have the same bugs for months. Such as I can't ADS when I jump out a vehicle with a gun that has an underbarrel launcher, like 50% of the time.

    Heavily nerf the scout heli's rocket pods but buff the miniguns. Put specialists in classes with restricted gadgets. Once only 25% of players have access to anti-veh rockets, buff their damage so fewer are required for a kill. Then, allow more vehicles.

    Something I noticed that was pretty interesting was that the graph for BF4's vehicle balance looked alot like a food chain. Which actually made what 2042 was doing wrong click with me. There is no chain. Any vehicle can do what the others can. Just some are better. I remember when I was upgrading the F-35, it was painful to get the vehicle kills for the agm. Now I understand why.

    If every map has every vehicle, then each battle feels the same and the map just becomes a theme. Limiting vehicles to certain maps plays out different types of wars. You could do a mostly underground map with all tanks or a battle on top of a mountain with just air vehicles. They lose all the type of focused battles by making everything just a big blur.

    Great video, agreed. I just wanted to add, one of the worst weapon mechanics for aircraft I have ever seen in terms of balance are Radar Guided Missiles. You don't even have to lock on to your target, and they give no ability or time frames for the targeted player to react; originally they were un-flarable (not sure if it's still that way?). This kind of garbage they put into their games so "everyone can win or get a kill" is what kills the game slowly IMO. I would even argue that any lock-on weapon is broken and not fun because it takes the skill away from both players; but I realize taking these away would be a huge problem in this game. I believe that most people want the ability to react to attacks in a fair way, and vice verse, they want to have an overall fair match with really effective tools. I'm excluding the 1% neck beards that exploit imbalances/issues in the game just to win or feel good about themselves. Cheers

    I think you missed the part of the unlimited flares for the helicopters and if you somehow hit any vehicles with a rocket it doesn't matter they just drive/fly off to regen their full health when in any battlefield game has a vehicle been able to repair itself without making its self vulnerable because you have to not move and can't use your weapons or someone else repairing it? Battlefield 5 had weak points on tanks if I shoot a bazooka and hit the tank tread it was noticeable that the tank driver was having a hard time to move or if I hit the turret mow the turret is slowed down and now the tank has to retreat and repair also in bf5 there was an animation the players in the tank had to do to get out of it to defend the tank in this game they just appear out of it and start spraying bring that animation back it doesn't have to be ridiculously long just something so they actually have to time it right but meh I'm just an infantry player in all the battlefield games

    The statement on getting noticed for good air vehicle play in BF4 is soo true. After two games of 30+ kills, I got so many friend request for people wanting to fly with me as pilot.
    But leave the nightbird alone lol, the HP is so low and you can get shot out of it too lol

    they need to fix the soflam, if you are targeting an air vehicles then you should be able to shoot the aa with no delay or lock on required, also i think it should buff the missiles when used i think that would encourage more people to carry the soflam and more people to shoot at locked targets. also would be dope if you could change the fire mode on liz' rocket to work with the soflam like the javlin from previous bfs

    The way DICE has tuned the game this time basically removes the way I play the game. I enjoy flying heli's mostly but also mostly vehicles. I like to be a support player because I'm not really good with aim and I'm a very casual player and might just jump into a game every now and then when I feel like flying or supporting a good player. When I play infantry I like to find some good players and follow them around and support them. Without a server browser I cannot do this because it's a totally new group every game. The new changes do seem decent enough and I kind of want to try them but I won't because the first thing I'd like to do is fly a heli and I'm not just going to log on just to not get a chance to spawn one.
    Personally I feel like they should remove the rocket pods from the Nightbird completely and put it back in the transport category. Just like you said they should balance the number of vehicles and which vehicles are available per map. OR better yet, oput back a server browser and allow people to hire out servers, let the community set things up how they want because the Portal style editor is pretty powerful and I feel like I could make a really cool game mode just using that. It's clear they're just being lazy and not properly testing things.
    I'm so sick of complaining about BF2042 and honestly I'm more or less done with it, I have better things to do with my time and thinking about it it feeds the bad wolf. It's quite sad to see how badly DICE and EA have mismanaged this whole affair and to this day I really can't imagine how they got it so badly wrong. Looking at how easy and quickly changes can be made using the portal editor makes me just puzzled how it can take so long to build new content or make changes to the game. For example why haven't they just enabled the Portal weapons and maps in all out war already!? It just makes no sense. Give your community a proper server browser mode with persistent servers and this problems solves itself but the way they've handled portal just seems to make no one use it. *shrug*
    Every time I think about this game I just feel disappointed and frustrated because I would love to play a good Battlfield game but I'm just sick of BF4. It surprises me that no other company is trying to make a direct battlefield competitor seeing as how badly this has been screwed by DICE. WW3 is ok but it doesn't have flying vehicles. There is no real new battlefield game out there and it boggles my mind knowing how popular they are. Someone could so easily just more or less copy BF4 with similar maps and some new ones, copy the vehicle and infantry balance and have a smash hit on their hands.
    This whole comment makes it seem like I care more than I do but more or less I'm just indifferent about the whole thing because it just seems like the way I play the game has been disregarded so it's no longer for me anymore and that's a bit sad but not enough to truly care about it enough to let it affect me.
    After writing all this I just feel like it's pretty pointless to post such a long complaining post, who cares what I think, makes me want to delete it but I've written it so I'll post it anyway but I thinkt this will be the last time I think about BF unless things change very radically in the future..

      I liked to play in different roles supporting my team. I feel the same. The reality is they wanted to cater to a larger audience making the gameplay more casual and ended washing all the content and balance in favor of a bland game with no categories. Slots for vehicles, slots for guns, slots for specialists op perks. There's no interest in the majority of them. In fact, it's less of a sandbox game, because you can't play specific roles the way you want. A farm corral for the masses instead of green fields. We wanted greenery and they provided us soybean ration in different flavors. It's still soy.

    They should have 2 attack vehicles and 2 transport vehicles, but you can only have 1 type in the game. So you never have 2 Hinds, 2 planes, 2 stealth heli's at the same time. So if the Hind/Condor is taken you can only take the MAV. This way people will have to play with more then one vehicle type, creating a more dynamic and a more balanced battlefield. Tanks and Wildcats need some buffs against air vehicles and Liz rockets. Better anti air and active armor like in BF4.

    Another example for this is the tank category. The bolte is a terrible choice now because it's worse than an MBT in every way even tho they share the same spawn slot, adding to that, neither one of them has a counter against helis/infantry, and there's a ton of liz rockets and AGMs just killing the most skilled tank drivers within seconds.

    The hind and condor were always completely broken, they can be repaired mid air, the miniguns have an insane range and never overheat and the amount of armor they have is enormous.
