I got sedated today for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and let me tell you , you will be OUT within seconds after you receive the sedation. It is very nice and comfortable like you floating on a cloud.

I just had conscious sedation done today for 2 teeth and let me tell you, I have TERRIBLE anxiety… when i arrived and sat in the chair I was shaking I was so scared but when they put in the IV in my arm and injected the sedation drug, i INSTANTLY felt it kick in and i don’t even remember going to sleep! It felt like i dosed off for a few minutes and woke up and it was all done!!! No pain either!!! Great and effective way of surgery 100/10 guys, don’t worry at all 😁😁😁

Legit the idea of still being conscious during a general anesthetic

I finally figured what I was sedated with during my endoscopy. It was an okay and peaceful experience. All I was thinking about was I was a tiny bit nauseous and needed to puke but I couldn't speak so I tugged on my doctor's apron 😅 And no you don't get high or anything. You will just feel peaceful.

really, everyone is being excessive. by the time it hits you it doesn't matter. surgery has been done for millenia, I think the basic sedation aspect is down! benzo is a good starter point, but if you're already taking them then idk what they do.

I wish I had had a clinic like this. Previously, I had two colonoscopies with conscious sedation and one with no sedation. No sedation was the best! Last time though, despite my objections, I was put to sleep entirely. I woke up depressed, angry with the doctor and nurse, angry with myself for consenting, just feeling lousy. As it wore off some, I could feel discomfort in the abdomen that I hadn't had after previous colonoscopies, as if my bowel had been handled more roughly, so I took acetaminophen. By the third day I was starting to feel more normal. I'm on the fourth day now and really trying to forget how bad it was. But never again will I consent to be knocked out for no good reason!

Recently there is a death query into the use of General Anesthesia that led to hyperthermia. Is it really safe ?
Malignant hyperthermia is a severe reaction to certain drugs used for anesthesia. This severe reaction typically includes a dangerously high body temperature, rigid muscles or spasms, a rapid heart rate, and other symptoms. Without prompt treatment, the complications caused by malignant hyperthermia can be fatal.

Ive had colonoscopies and an endoscopy. There is no difference from this and normal surgery. I do have to say that for the "twilight sleep" i have a slight memory of choking on the tube for the endoscopy. And i mean a memory so you dont feel it you just may have a memory. Thats it. So its nothing. Please dont be as scared as i was because i feel stupid now lol.
