    OMG! I have been struggling with this for months ever since I bought the Mavic Air 2! And people keep explaining to convert it in Premier and it’s just a nightmare. The simple right click encoding saved my life! Thank youuuuuu.

    I don't think the 180 degree rule has anything to do with jittery footage. In fact this "rule" is irrelevant in a great percentage of drone footage. It really only applies to situations where you are very close to a moving object (or you're moving) and blur is created. It wouldn't apply if you are doing video of a mountain or buildings, unless you are very very close.

    • @danielporterAZ
      @danielporterAZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your input! In the tests I have performed myself I have noticed that the lack of natural motion blur has CONTRIBUTED to giving footage a jittery appearance because the rapid transition from frame to frame is made ever slightly more noticeable due to the lack of that motion blur - especially when the computer is struggling to process the video. It’s just one piece of the puzzle.
      Thanks!!!

    Just a question, is the stock footage (?) that you use at 0:29 with the cactuses also considered jittery/choppy? I think it is, very much so as well. Is this also due to the things you explain in the video

    • @danielporterAZ
      @danielporterAZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good catch! No the shot of the cactuses was actually my own footage with the original gangster; the 1st generation Mavic Pro. The reasoning for the slight jitters in that footage is because it was 30fps footage placed on a 24fps timeline. I plan on covering FPS and timelines in a future video.

    I just got my mini 3 Pro drone and took it up and when I do video playback on my computer, I find that forward and backward video is fine and smooth, but panning left and right is jagged... micro stuttering abit... makes it almost hard to watch. Of course the faster I twist left to right the worse it is... is there a setting I can set that will make turning left or right video as smooth as forward and backward motion? I have it in 4K 30 FPS HQ but it is in H265... and the SD card I use is a high speed card...

    • @danielporterAZ
      @danielporterAZ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would start by working on making smooth movements in flight in all directions…also try shooting in Cine mode rather than normal or sport mode….the gimbal can only do so much-especially when panning left to right. Also, something I didn’t cover in this video that I would like to in a later video is editing on the correct timeline. If you’re shooting in 30fps or 60fps make sure you are editing on a 30fps timeline. If you shoot at 24 or vise-versa the program will have to drop frames to fit it into the timeline in your post edit.

      If so, use Airdrop to transfer your files from your computer to your phone before uploading. This will maintain as much quality as possible because IG compresses it. In export settings from your editing software select Webhosting. This helps as well.

    My footage looks fine before editing but if I add the 29.97fps drone footage to a 23.98fps timeline it gets jumpy in the final rendered video.

    • @danielporterAZ
      @danielporterAZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting

    • @thepmaexperience
      @thepmaexperience 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had that same issue, it's something to do with cramming more fps into a smaller area so the timeline removes frames to compensate so I then just made the timelines 29.97fps on FCPX and as long as I record the same fps it's fine. I'm not sure how others incorporate different frame rates into a timeline as I get jittery footage when I do that.

    • @danielporterAZ

      @@thepmaexperience great input!

    • @hankfink5412
      @hankfink5412 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, the 23.98 fps timeline can accept only 23.98 fps so the extra 6 or so frames from your 29.97 fps footage get dropped. Easiest way to fix it is to slow down the 29.97fps footage to 80% so it plays back at 23.98 fps

    • @Eveproguides
      @Eveproguides 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hankfink5412 That was my problem, I was thinking if you put 30fps on a 24fps timeline in would play the 30fps at 24fps but it was interpolating I think and looking jumpy. If I "Interpret" the 29.976 to 23.98 and add to a 23.98 time line I get the slowed down smoother effect I'm after.
