Relax Guys, this is a view and SOUND... that many people NEVER SEE! His triggers sound like that so he can HEAR himself with the onstage volume. Behemoth is quite loud onstage, I know... I've been onstage with them many times and they're one of the loudest bands! That trigger sound is NEVER heard anywhere other than back there by Inferno. This video lets you hear what he hears. TRUST ME, those kicks were slamming thru the front of the house mix!! Thumping fans chests in!!!! Thanks for viewing.
I've actually heard inferno play with mics in some early behemoth, and he has good power and speed. the triggers are more for clarity so he can hear himself and so tthe rest of the band and the crowd can also hear him.
The trigger sound behind him let's him know what it sounds like.. No one else hears that part. Actually, it's a good thing the video has it. It proves how fucking accurate he is.
@brandonvanessa if youve noticed, the distance between the beater and the skin isnt that much still giving it a clear sound so in effect he can go faster than running it trough a microphone (like you said it sounds like a fart lol). it does help him go faster man, its the whole point in these types of genres otherwise the kit would sound wank. The faster you play, the less force you can hit the head with. The less force, the less attack. The less attack, the less clarity
The reason the triggers are so loud here is because the sound you are hearing is the sound Inferno is hearing. Out there those kicks will sound monsterous and perfect. It's just the mix from the drum monitor is what you are getting here
@littlejoe145 I'm pretty sure he is using the axis longboards right here. I think this was when they toured with dimmu borgir in 2007 a little before he switched to trick percussion.
the only reason the kicks sound really hi pitch is bcuz its filmed behind the kit, so ur only going to hear the triggers, no the whole sound of the mic'd bass drums with triggers
Yes they are the triggers from the basedrum indeed. It sounds nice but the reall deal about triggering the set is how hard or soft you play, it's always the same volume so thats what triggers do for you. When you play really fast you just dont have the same power in your legs as when you play slower so it's really a helpful thing
his trigger sound is actually brilliant, what your hearing is not what the crowd is hearing. i what we can hear is being played through a his monitor for inferno to hear it clearly. but trust me if u watch some good quality live vids he has a really good kick sound
@gluv1 yeah dude, tim is awesome, i was blown away when i first heard hate eternals first cd. and hes played on a ton of great cd's since. not a huge fan of divine heresy, but they arent horrible or anything (and the drums rule of course). im pretty anxious to hear what he does on the new morbid angel....hell, im just pumped to hear ANY new morbid angel!! lol and yeah, im not too sure many death/black drummers can get away without triggers anymore...theyre just too damn fast!
@monkeychunkey thats because most drummer are best blasting with right hand and then it helps alot if the snare is angeld like that gives a better controle
@Dryfx Inferno używa triggerów tylko na stopy - za szybko i za głośno nimi gra by wychwycić dźwięk na mikrofony. Za rok 2009 też chyba został jakoś odznaczony, człowiek karabin ^^
@xpidgeonx No I have not. I have not even played with triggers, I just think that it gives the allusion of the beaters coming back really far when really they are actually extremely close to the bass drum.
its hard to get a clear picture of exactly how far the beaters are going back cos the camera is at a bad angle for it. maby he does not hit as hard as kollias but inferno is "known as one of the fastest and most technically proficient drummers in today's death metal scene". and the clicks sound like that so he can clearly hear them through his monitor, the audience hears it different
@centuian I always thought he did just because his beaters are so far back and he is swinging so fast and your lucky to have seen that live, still if your playing that fast you need triggers
@WereWutend George Kollias, drummero from Nile... one of the most insane drummers in the world... a lot of speed, power and technique.... you should visits his videos.
@Drummerkid381 Have you ever played at giant venues before? Have you ever seriously encountered what it's like to be fully mic'd up and hearing yourself on a monitor mix? There are COLOSSAL volume levels, and there is absolutely NO WAY that your kicks are going to be heard THAT WELL without triggers in a situation like that. The normal, low-end thump that the actual bass drum has WILL get lost in the mix of everything else you're hearing. The clicking sound of the triggers just cuts better
@rsman169 George has a funky type Swivel though :D It's sick anybody that blast up this fast with singles. Much respect to Inferno, George, Derek, Tim and everyone else.
@spottytroll yes it is his beaters r very close to his bass drums which means no power he is strcitly speed good observation =] for the lonest time i didnt no wth a trigger was
I'm not a drumming expert but I have seen videos about triggers even George Kollias said eventually you are gonna need triggers to make it audible so don't consider it cheating.
@LongLiveBlastology yaaa when i saw them last year in july, felt like my heart beat was going along with the bass drums lol, id probably do the same thing with my triggers if i were ever on stage
Ha. Inferno was signed to Trick pedals most of his successful career but he always played Axis pedals. If you look at his pedals in this video you can see the spring systems and Tricks don't have springs on the outside. He know uses the Polish Devils hoof pedal. Great drummer and I don't care if he triggers. I would trigger my kit if I could afford it right now. I'm tired of every single death or black metal drum video having a 5 page argument over why triggers are, or aren't real drumming.
@gluv1 yeah man, i play drums..i am nowhere near as awesome as most death metal drummers, (not even in the same league as inferno lol) but i can get pretty fast with my kicks, i know that the faster i go the less attack i have, no matter how many different ways i position my kicks, the beaters,all that. a lot has to do with the drummers themselves, and then theres this guy ↓ ↓ that has to say something about his footwork. if youd ever seen these guys you know that his footwork is second to none
Blast beat with two legs... you let me down Inferno... i'll keep with Tony Laureano and the other (George Kollias, Derek Roddy, Nick Barker, Hellhammer and Frost).
2:49 A mnie najbardziej rozwalił widok śrubki M8 w stołku Zbyla. :D Oryginalna chamerykańska nie wytrzymała? Pewnie i tak robiona w Chinach. ;) Kiedy nowa płyta??? \m/
That's strange because the pedals sound different from the ones from Demigod!!! I know that he used Axis in Demigod. So I wonder why did he switch to Trick???
@zgates I have nothing against inferno he's one of the first drummers to inspire me to play blast beats and such, I just think if you can't hear the bass drum when your playing without triggers there's a problem with the way you play. I just think if you tap and use triggers triggers make it SOUND like the beater is coming back really far when it actually isn't.
@sephiroth027 Win! my buddy was playing drums to conquer all when he received a text, proceded to answer said text and play with one hand and half his attention span (which is fairly small). I was impressed.
Relax Guys, this is a view and SOUND... that many people NEVER SEE! His triggers sound like that so he can HEAR himself with the onstage volume. Behemoth is quite loud onstage, I know... 0:36 Guy: You guys are ready?
Seth: No, one second
jaja
I LOVE HIS TRIGGERS SOUND
This is a cool video, amazing how little sound travels back there. I was also suprised to see them open w/Slaves Shall Serve.
The best drummer in the world in the best band in the world ever.
This man along with trump from emperor and Pete Sandoval are the reason I’m a drummer today \m/
Beastly drummer right here!
The trigger sound behind him let's him know what it sounds like.. No one else hears that part. Actually, it's a good thing the video has it. It proves how fucking accurate he is.
I just think the way the snare is angled is kinda funky but, hey, It's behemoth. It works for him so all is good.
My dream it's a one day plays like him...
inferno...awesome !!! my idol drummer.
He has the inferno in his hands and feets!
his kick sounds like when you turn an Apple computer volume up
Your comment legit made me laugh so hard!! XD
me too i spilled water everywhere :)
Yeah,makes sense,whenever i watch behemoth vids live,inferno's kicks are always epic. so thanks mate.
\m/
not even george hits it hard at high speeds bro i seen him live behind the set :)
fair enough, that echoing out through the stadium would be killer
damn dude those are some fucking powerful sounding triggers
@brandonvanessa if youve noticed, the distance between the beater and the skin isnt that much still giving it a clear sound so in effect he can go faster than running it trough a microphone (like you said it sounds like a fart lol). it does help him go faster man, its the whole point in these types of genres otherwise the kit would sound wank.

You have more like this? I LOVE it
the only reason the kicks sound really hi pitch is bcuz its filmed behind the kit, so ur only going to hear the triggers, no the whole sound of the mic'd bass drums with triggers
2:27 to 2:29 was kick ass.
Yes they are the triggers from the basedrum indeed. It sounds nice but the reall deal about triggering the set is how hard or soft you play, it's always the same volume so thats what triggers do for you. When you play really fast you just dont have the same power in your legs as when you play slower so it's really a helpful thing
dam my Grammer is terrible, its friday night and iv had a few drinks :D
look at that snare angle! yeeeeya!
like the drumstick :P
his trigger sound is actually brilliant, what your hearing is not what the crowd is hearing. i what we can hear is being played through a his monitor for inferno to hear it clearly. but trust me if u watch some good quality live vids he has a really good kick sound

and yeah, im not too sure many death/black drummers can get away without triggers anymore...theyre just too damn fast!
when drumming becomes to sport... i fucking love this song
fuckin' god of blast beats...
Can't wait to hear his new PAISTEs
@monkeychunkey
thats because most drummer are best blasting with right hand
and then it helps alot if the snare is angeld like that gives a better controle
2:00-2:10, Behold Judas by Hate Eternal? lol
@Dryfx Inferno używa triggerów tylko na stopy - za szybko i za głośno nimi gra by wychwycić dźwięk na mikrofony. Za rok 2009 też chyba został jakoś odznaczony, człowiek karabin ^^
Dang his gear is set so low, or he is sitting very high ;P
sounds like he has those danmar click pads on his bass drum heads.
George Kollias is the greatest drummer in the wrold.
@MKplayer7 yes he definitly does here...
i wish bass drums naturally had that sound
@xpidgeonx
No I have not. I have not even played with triggers, I just think that it gives the allusion of the beaters coming back really far when really they are actually extremely close to the bass drum.
@drumsistkrieg1349 He actually just signed with Monolit Czarcie Kopyto pedals this year
@MrBenOnDrums yes he does but triggers do not in any way at all make you go faster. They do not even have contact with the pedals.
its hard to get a clear picture of exactly how far the beaters are going back cos the camera is at a bad angle for it. maby he does not hit as hard as kollias but inferno is "known as one of the fastest and most technically proficient drummers in today's death metal scene". and the clicks sound like that so he can clearly hear them through his monitor, the audience hears it different
Inferno it's upon God!
this guy can fucking blast.
does anybody know, which pedals Inferno uses?
This guy is badass!
But he is on the Trick Percussion List
Ov Feature Artist so yeah.
@centuian I always thought he did just because his beaters are so far back and he is swinging so fast and your lucky to have seen that live, still if your playing that fast you need triggers
oh yes... I know that, thanks for the info!!!
amazing
yeah
but on wikipedia it says he uses trick pedals..
it kinda looks like trick a lil..
@drummakid101 Yup same with George Kollias.
@WereWutend George Kollias, drummero from Nile... one of the most insane drummers in the world... a lot of speed, power and technique.... you should visits his videos.
Is it just me or did inferno start playing earlier than when it was suppose to start? Cud be just be me or does any 1 else hear it?
@Drummerkid381 Have you ever played at giant venues before? Have you ever seriously encountered what it's like to be fully mic'd up and hearing yourself on a monitor mix? There are COLOSSAL volume levels, and there is absolutely NO WAY that your kicks are going to be heard THAT WELL without triggers in a situation like that. The normal, low-end thump that the actual bass drum has WILL get lost in the mix of everything else you're hearing. The clicking sound of the triggers just cuts better
@LaochWins What drummer does not have 2 pedals? One for Hihat and one for bass drum. Inferno has 3 (;
@rsman169
George has a funky type Swivel though :D It's sick anybody that blast up this fast with singles. Much respect to Inferno, George, Derek, Tim and everyone else.
He no longer plays on Axis. Now he's using Czarcie Kopyto pedals by polish manufacturer. Google it.
@spottytroll yes it is his beaters r very close to his bass drums which means no power he is strcitly speed good observation =] for the lonest time i didnt no wth a trigger was
I dont care what people say. I LOVE clicky triggers.
I'm not a drumming expert but I have seen videos about triggers even George Kollias said eventually you are gonna need triggers to make it audible so don't consider it cheating.
Bassdrum sounds like metronome, but only problem is that metronome can not keep up with inferno
Was this at the Vic Theater??
That clicking is the triggers right?
Im not a drummer i just like watching these videos haha =]
@LongLiveBlastology yaaa when i saw them last year in july, felt like my heart beat was going along with the bass drums lol, id probably do the same thing with my triggers if i were ever on stage

@spottytroll
yes the click sound is the kicks
@gluv1 yeah man, i play drums..i am nowhere near as awesome as most death metal drummers, (not even in the same league as inferno lol) but i can get pretty fast with my kicks, i know that the faster i go the less attack i have, no matter how many different ways i position my kicks, the beaters,all that. a lot has to do with the drummers themselves, and then theres this guy ↓ ↓ that has to say something about his footwork. if youd ever seen these guys you know that his footwork is second to none
Way foot teq. Does he use
hooooray for axis Ekits!
@Drummerkid381 If you play with triggers, why move more than necessary? Just to impress people who are watching behind you?
Inferno is a god!
I prefer George Kollias, but Inferno is sick as hell
@Aheadstix85 triggers don't make you going faster they only give you a different sound...
Blast beat with two legs... you let me down Inferno... i'll keep with Tony Laureano and the other (George Kollias, Derek Roddy, Nick Barker, Hellhammer and Frost).
i love those double bass taps *sarcasm*
The ones hes using in this video are axis.
george lukas, clooney, kollias
3:13 is my fave part. \m/
so he used Tricks on the Apostasy??? I thought he had already been using Trick pedals!!! They even sound different than the ones from Demigod!!!
yes they are
im guessing trick bigfoots? or detonators?
What song is this?
@learulez
Aight thanks man. I saw em in January and it didn't sound like this so i was like "Wtf" haha.
@SeedOfCannibalism I second that, it's too "artificial"... maybe with a thicker equalization It will sound even more head-blowing...
@BuzzmFrog Dude really? They are his monitors so he can hear everything including the triggers.
2:49 A mnie najbardziej rozwalił widok śrubki M8 w stołku Zbyla. :D Oryginalna chamerykańska nie wytrzymała? Pewnie i tak robiona w Chinach. ;)
Kiedy nowa płyta??? \m/
Just an observation, Inferno hits 290 on this live and guess what? No swivel! That is really incredible
At which part did he hit 290 on the double bass
Ir fake ass oussy geek toe either 🤘🤘
This is about 245-250 bpm.
I know... triggers give the different sound.
Whats the name of the song?
That's strange because the pedals sound different from the ones from Demigod!!! I know that he used Axis in Demigod.
So I wonder why did he switch to Trick???
no
it is Axis for sure
he is not tapping at 3:14, look his legs at 3:16, pure heel up.
@zgates
I have nothing against inferno he's one of the first drummers to inspire me to play blast beats and such, I just think if you can't hear the bass drum when your playing without triggers there's a problem with the way you play. I just think if you tap and use triggers triggers make it SOUND like the beater is coming back really far when it actually isn't.
he went to the better pedals ... axis :D
sick Oo
@sephiroth027 Win! my buddy was playing drums to conquer all when he received a text, proceded to answer said text and play with one hand and half his attention span (which is fairly small). I was impressed.
@WereWutend from nile.. and both drummer sslay i'd call it even
@spottytroll yea
