so sick. love how much he gets into it. nothing better than a drummer who physically shows how passionate they are. nothing worse than a guy sitting there looking like they would rather not even play. ew
Seems like almost all killer extreme metal drummers in europe come from either germany or poland (few exceptions ofc Kollias etc.) why? Germany discipline. Polish Power That's how they do!!!
@EthanGray11 i think the snare is a 14x6 or 14x5.5 with the batter tuned very tight and the resonant is between medium tight, the heads i think are aquarian, hope this helps
@Frodamn Daimonos is the Latinised spelling of the Greek word for demons in ancient Greek religion. He also alludes to Greek mythology with his references to Chaldean Priests, with Chaldea being the Hellenistic Greek word for an area in Babylon that is today Southern Iraq. I've actually learned a lot of cool historical facts from Behemoth. Amon Amarth is good for that, too!
@EvilSamson19 - most people with two hi-hats leave the traditional more closed while the secondary (open-handed) is in the open position. Gives both styles while still being able to use double-bass. Having said that, neither one of his is all that open...lol :)
well, probably you are the only one who can play Behemoth's songs properly. Big hails from Gdansk (poland), Das Is god my friend :) Take care!!!! And more blast beasts, POETRY!
@Gigadrane Kollias does a similar motion with his feet... he moves his ankles up and down real fast, except jan benkwitz here has his heels closer to the ground.
THIS GUY is one of the best drummers i've seen. But damn, he missed some parts. Still, the drumming still sounds unique and badass! Keep up the good work, Jan!
Ive never seen anyone ever drum like this with a wardrobe like that haha. You do not look like a death metal drummer at all, but hell, Mohammed Suicmez doesnt look like a death metal guitarist haha. Awsome job man. U hit the nail on the head with this one. U score a 15 out of 10.
music = knowledge, not style or other boring borderlines. Death Metal is extreme music and any good musician would appreciate it. hellllll f****ing yeah!.
@luciferincestus i completely agree... Jan is a definately in the best drummers out there... along with kollias, brutal dave, roddy, hell hammer, nick barker, tony laureno, romain goulon... many more.... love this video... thanx Jan!!!
out of curiosity are there a specific kind of sticks that make doing that snare technique easier. im sure its mostly conditioning but still ill do anything to be able to hit the snare like that
Just set a metronome at a good starting BPM, and increase it over time. Make sure you're perfectly on time all the way up. Maybe you can get 270 BPM one day.
Devin Taylor I've been practicing french grip for 4 months now and am already able to blast at 230 bpm for 10 seconds, 25 seconds ar 225 and 2 bars at 270. So its not so hard to do
the way you change your right hand technique from when your playing cymbals to your snare is really sick man. Unless im seeing something wrong...haha how did you practice switching between them?
The only man who can make polo shirts metal as fuck
nope. didnt happen
Um yes it did
That finger control though, bet the ladies love that
i counted how many times he hit the snare. It's at least 14 times.
Jan really does make this look effortless. His feet and hands look like there barely moving. Simply amazing on his part this is insane
Watching this makes me realize how great Inferno is to come up witht that impossible shit! And this dude kills it all! Great job man!
amazing natural drum tone and talent. mad respect
I quit. No more drums for me.
good thing i like playing sludge
Keaton Williams lol!
Jan Benkwitz which planet r u from? this is just unbelievable!
Haha from the first minute you can see Jan's really feeling the song, awesome man
That's an awesome sounding kit
so sick. love how much he gets into it. nothing better than a drummer who physically shows how passionate they are. nothing worse than a guy sitting there looking like they would rather not even play. ew
One of the greatest Drum Tracks by far
Seems like almost all killer extreme metal drummers in europe come from either germany or poland (few exceptions ofc Kollias etc.) why?
Germany discipline.
Polish Power
That's how they do!!!
Because they learned from all the American death metal drummers who created the art and improved upon it.
True but th-cam.com/video/ldFk6_0AdgI/w-d-xo.html
Nils is Norwegian I guess... :)
Holy shit..this is metal viagra. Brilliant job, man...

You simply fly over those drums man, you kick so much ass!!!
Respekt! Einfach Wahnsinn!
great cover! love your set!
@EthanGray11 i think the snare is a 14x6 or 14x5.5 with the batter tuned very tight and the resonant is between medium tight, the heads i think are aquarian, hope this helps
@DRAG0NSIN7 It's an Evans Black Hydraulic snare head. The Snare is some Yamaha Steel Snare that's 14x6.5.
But yes, the head is tuned quite tight.
Sick foot technique dude
Impressive, really nice playing
Those are Vic-Firth SIH 1 headphones, they can be picked up almost anywhere. Very popular and nice headphones :)
you're PERFECT !!! FAST and TALENTED ... AMAZING JOB
Love that snare sound
I can do this slower
I bet I can do it slower than you
im the best at doing this slow. i do it so slow i havent even hit the first note yet
Bitch please, I'm playing it slower than all ov you with my mind, I don't even need to move.
AWesome. Great drumming. Behemoth rules.
this video is all kinds of awesome
@Kentsuruki 1:31 - 1:34 is a bomb blast, it's a blast beat where you play twice as fast with your feet as with your hand that is hitting the snare.
You gotta give him credit, he`s a beast. Don`t be jealous.
FOCKING BEST I EVER SAW !!!!
OUTSTANDING JOB!!!!!!!
this vid should have a million view...

Great song, great band, great cover. Insane finger technique and great sounding. That only shows how great drummer Inferno is!
that was themost epic intro ever!!! thumbs up if you agree
Amazing.
Tight, tight, tight!!!
twin with Inferno hahaha! Great work Jan \m/.
The sound of that snare is AMAZING.... What snare is it?
@EvilSamson19 - most people with two hi-hats leave the traditional more closed while the secondary (open-handed) is in the open position. Gives both styles while still being able to use double-bass. Having said that, neither one of his is all that open...lol :)
@impenitencebg Jan himself says they aint covers, he plays along but does own fills and stuffs for the songs.
this is incredible
Incredibly incredible
this is amazing
BEHEMOTH IS BY FAR THE MOST IN YOUR FACE MONSTROUS SOUND DEATH/BLACK METAL BAND EVER
well, probably you are the only one who can play Behemoth's songs properly. Big hails from Gdansk (poland),
Das Is god my friend :)
Take care!!!! And more blast beasts,
POETRY!
Bow to YAN in adoration!
Guy has great foot control...some of the best ive seen in a whle.
@Norwasia89 you also need to work your fingers into it. that helps a great deal in addition to wrist movement
Ho lee shee ett! So on point it's krazee
@Gigadrane Kollias does a similar motion with his feet... he moves his ankles up and down real fast, except jan benkwitz here has his heels closer to the ground.
If they need to replace Inferno, this guy would fit perfectly.
best top comment I've seen in some time, well done my friend
Also he is an UE artist. THE MAN
Pretty incredible, awesome man I would turn up the mic for the ride a litte though, so that I can easily hear those deathly little ride rolls :))
That was very impressive!
why has this guy never been in the MD festival?!! he needs to get his name out there!
Epic drumming!
I'd love to see a 1349 - Sculptor of Flesh cover!
This is the best fucking drum cover of Daimonos on youtube.
THIS GUY is one of the best drummers i've seen. But damn, he missed some parts. Still, the drumming still sounds unique and badass! Keep up the good work, Jan!

the snare is triggered. you can see the black trigger at 11 o'clock :). Fine sound!
amazing
i like how everythig is orange it looks cool
ОТЛИЧНО!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!СУПЕР!!!!!!!!!!!
can you please do a tips and tricks video on how to do blasts?
It'd still be impossible to replace Inferno, unless this guy can think of a insane drumtrack like this.
Der Mann ist eine verdammte MASCHINE! Genialer Drummer.
YOU ARE AMAZING!
disculpame me confundi de video como vi otro video del mismo baterista haciendo un cover de nile...gracias x avisarme sobre ese detalle

Axis longboard or pearl eliminator demon drive ?
music = knowledge, not style or other boring borderlines. Death Metal is extreme music and any good musician would appreciate it.
hellllll f****ing yeah!.
Woo, 666 likes! This is amazing, it's almost impossible to follow Inferno's drumming, but he played this as if it were easy. Good job!
LOL! 1:10 I shake my head like that when I hear that part, too! I think I got that twitch from Frank Mullen though. Great job, breaux!
What kind of snare it that!?!?!?! I want it so bad.
Once I thought it was imposible to replace Inferno in case of him leave the band...
...Now I see it is not. o/
But one has to come up and write these drum parts too, Lol! Another skill Inferno is so damn proficient at...
Hey Jan, please do a cover os Shemhamforash from this same album. I wana see that shit!
@luciferincestus i completely agree... Jan is a definately in the best drummers out there... along with kollias, brutal dave, roddy, hell hammer, nick barker, tony laureno, romain goulon... many more.... love this video... thanx Jan!!!

Sounds awesome!! I'm a drum noob, can anyone tell why his drums sound so different compared to Inferno's? Triggers, etc?
Job Well Done!
Or Kai Hahto of "Rotten Sound" and "Wintersun"? :)
@Hheawy actually he says Dionysus
Espetacular 🇧🇷
Wahnsinn!
Awesome druming skills! Anyone know what headphones hes using and where I may buy them?
the way you change your right hand technique from when your playing cymbals to your snare is really sick man. Unless im seeing something wrong...haha
