First time on track with the Aprilia RSV Mille (1999) - Assen

- This was the shakedown of my new track toy.
It's an 1999 Aprilia RSV Mille. I bought this bike to preserve my Ducati Streetfighter 1098S and to learn to ride quicker on track.
I upgrade the bike with a (serviced) Mille R Öhlins shock and front fork springs to weight and service. Also I upgraded the brakes to the gen 1.5 calipers and a radial master cylinder from my Ducati.
The upgrades proved to be good, because quite quickly I was able to ride a very decent pace, especially considering the extra weight and the, lack of, power this bike has. Definitely looking forward to hit this on the track again next season!
3rd and 4th gear in the 9k-12k rpm spot is pure bliss!

Nice Racing, but i am pretty sure you can set the Shift light on the Dashboard so it comes on later

setting of the revlimiter gest lost when you change the batery, to set it at the desired RPM: switch it on but do not start the engine. The dash has 5 buttons ABRCD) press the C (the 4th button from the left) button & hold untill you see the indicator move to the desired RPM. The video in which i heard this mentioned that it has peak torque at 9500, so i have set it at 9000. It's my first aprilia, so far it is the nicest handling bike that i have owned.
@@poucxs9246 yes, and sometimes even on a cold start when the battery is not at peak power it resets, like you said, beautiful handling and bombproof bike but they could've done a litte better battery and starter wise, love my 2002 rp also💪
@@robin_346 It was the first bigg bike that aprilia made after making only 2 strokes, which is why it handles like that :-) a good gell batery + storage charger should solve that. Costs about 80 eu if you go cheap or 150 if you get the more fancy stuff.
@@poucxs9246 i wanted to got the full way, a good battery and the 150amp Starter Relais from the i think 2007 and up model, and maybe even a cable kit with it cause the small starter cables also eat some juice that the starter would need
I think thats the best upgrade for the Mille that you can to, apart from the smaller Clutch Jet and a Rearset so the rear brake works permanently

What rpm limit did you have set on your clocks?.it was flashing all the round the lap!🤦♂️( nice smooth riding)..I'm not hating just asking. 👍
Yeah, I disconnected the battery and due to that the shift light was reset to the default 5500rpm which obviously is way too low 😅 Thanks bud!

Dat is een schakel indicator, die default op 5,5k toeren staat als de batterij los is geweest. Die moet je zelf op 10k zetten maar was ik vergeten te doen 😅

Nog zoals het was toen ik hem kocht. Volgens mij 16/42. Wil als de set op is denk ik naar 15/44, heb al begrepen dat dat wel lekker werkt op Assen.
