This video is great. Things I've learned this year: 1. Networking with other creators is extremely valuable for growth 2. TH-cam Shorts are the best way to get TH-cam subs (and thank you for the video on JoinCombo -- that was life changing... I use it for every Short) 3. Streaming is easy, but growing is very hard 4. I need more LEDs
Twitch isn't a sprint or a marathon, it's a *treadmill* it is exercise and you will get slowly better over time, but even though it feels like you've travelled over a huge distance you never leave the room.
Also impressions are way more vital than anything else. If your seen on teitter. TH-cam. Twitch. Tiktok. Everywhere your comfortable with. Then eventually when found people may click because you have been seen elsewhere. People have seen your personality and know what to expect on stream as a idea. Within 1 week i have gained a streamer friend who is small still but bigger than me by being myself which is my brand. And his support. Is boosting me so much. Same with my work friend who streams. Support is vital. Building connections. Because as either he or two said. Being alone at a height. Is lonely. You might have what you wanted. But not what you need to advance
My biggest mistake is going live to start with. By far, like a light year far, the biggest hurdles to me growing as a stream is scheduling. Real life commitments + physical & mental health issues means I just can’t set a regular schedule. The result is nobody knows, not even me, when I’m sitting down to play something until I’m actually sitting playing something.
I so agree with you. I like to stream but it's so difficult to have a schedule. My friend says I should have a schedule, but I can't because of work and other commitments. I never know which day I have energy to stream. I had days where I streamed even when I didn't wanted to because of low energy (but I already said I was gonna stream those days, so I felt I had to), and those streams will be boring to watch. I don't understand how people have so much free time to stream for several hours every day.
After watching a few of your videos and actually getting serious about Twitch, I've got affiliate quite easily within about a month. I've gone from completely dead channel with 0 viewers to affiliate with about 3-4 regulars who come back, and a small but wonderful community of people on Discord I can play games with quite regularly. Even got 2 subs my first stream as a Twitch affiliate. I don't care that much about the revenue but when I get that payout I'm going to get myself some emotes for the channel.
@@isaacomotayo4294 It's like a $50 or $100 payout. I don't know if the updated $50 is for affiliates as well as partners but either way it'll probably be a few years to get the minimum for a payout. It's just fun getting the emotes even if they're currently just word based ones I tossed together in photoshop.
If you're one of the countless people out there who couldn't get Affiliate if they wanted to, stop wasting your time. The biggest mistake a small streamer can make is to stream in order to grow. Streaming is fine as long as you're doing it for something other than growth: * If you're already getting donations, yes, absolutely maintain those relationships. * You're simultaneously recording something that you're going to edit down into valuable content for platforms that matter. * You're still learning stuff about shooting scenes and making a quality image. * You're doing it for fun. Take all the hours you stream and instead put it into making valuable content for TH-cam.
Not every streamer can be successful youtubers, not every youtuber can be successful streamers. And even if you do, transfering viewers/followers from one platform to another one is much harder than it seems and nobody talks about it. It IS possible to grow solely on Twitch if your content is good and engaging and your channel deliver a lot of fun and interaction.
The key mindset shift for every creator should be to go from "It doesn't work, Im gonna quit" to "How can I make this work/fix this?" . Every question has an answer, every problem has a solution and every trend has a reason. This doesn't mean you should become a slave to the public but gaining knowledge on it will allow you to adapt YOUR style and the thing YOU want to make into things that work with the current global viewership
This was the first video I saw from you. I loved it, it was interesting enough to keep watching and watching. It’s such a nice validation of gamers thinking that Twitch or YT is “easy”. There are sooo many skills to learn and exp to gain. Congrats to everyone who already got recognized!
As someone who is a small time stream that started about 2 months ago. I can agree with everything here. I have seen the growth happen slowly, but offstream I would look at the views and feel like I was not doing great (My big mistake was looking at view count when raiding a friend or something and thinking "Oh god, this is such a pitiful number"). But I turned that mindset around because even with the smaller count, there are people watching me. In the beginning it was hard for me to network because I felt like I was intruding. I slowly realised that all the creators that I am friends with are in the same boat as me. I reached out to a fellow creator to talk about it, and they were awesome in helping me see some mistakes I was doing early on.
that last part where yu said something about work ethics and lying to yourself.. i think i needed to hear that put in those words. im gonna try more. You are a legend. keep up all your great and hard work man
Growth for me on twitch and youtube has been very slow in 2022. I also see no connection between the two audiences. I have links going to the other platform, but nobody seems to be going. The only way I can find to grow on twitch is to stream as much as possible, and make friends with streamers who stream similar games, and raid between each other, participate in streamer events, etc.
No I would say you are wrong in that, you should take a step and promote also not to Facebook and Twitter or Instagram, to other platforms like Pinterest you get me?
I promise this video (and the last few videos actually) have fit perfectly into what I'm dealing with personally with trying to get back into streaming again. A lot of these mistakes rang true with me, especially yours when it comes to work ethic. I know exactly what I need to be doing and how to do it, etc.....just having issues hitting that "Start Streaming" button in OBS. Back watching you again. I followed majority of your tips. I only posted on Snapchat, Facebook and texted friends when I went live. I got to around 10avg viewers in the first month or two. Once week I was hitting like 15 avg viewers and then my brother visited for two weeks and…. I took time off and the stream hasn’t been the same since. I’m excited to use what works and actually post on other platforms. This videos genuinely help out man.
I have only recently decided to start streaming, yet to go live though. I’m curious about the variety streaming. Are you considered a variety streamer if you are playing games from a single genre? Say you are playing something like an rpg, finish it, move on to another? Or would it be better to just play 1 game, for growth purposes?
This was really interesting. I myself have recently realize that i have not been honest with myself about my work ethic and over the last few months have really tried to push myself to live up to what standard i have set for myself. And honestly i am a lot happier now that i have started working to a routine.
Video definitely helped, my problem is staying funny and staying motivated while live with the energy, I'm good at games and stuff but this is what I gotta work on
After around a year of not following any of these steps because I was too lazy, I finally started actually trying and my stream has been growing so fast, I went from 1 avg to 5-7 avg in a month. I did have some luck that a streamer who I edit for likes to raid after their stream, but not all of it is luck, what made that raid stick around are these tips, these pointers of entertainment. Being a 1 viewer andy is hard because you have no one to bounce off of in chat, but learning how to bounce off urself is what's going to let you grow. I'm happy for the few viewers that stop by my stream. I enjoy video games and having at least one person to talk to about them makes my day. I'm low energy and welcome lurkers too lol.
I can relate to 8bitelliott on the raging on stream part. When I first started streaming, I was playin nothing but smash bros and I would get very tilted easily and what made me realize that. Was by putting myself into the viewers shoes and watching other smash streamers. and some would rage quite a bit and I did feel nervous and awkward after that, That’s when I made that change by just laughing at all my mess ups and it’s made me have more fun on stream by not taking myself too seriously anymore. I think a lot of people take themselves too seriously and can never laugh at themselves and what not. And that can only get you so far in streaming. So moral of the story is just Have fun and stay humble!
I appreciate you and all your videos man. I'm slowly building everything piece by piece. One video after another. I am huge gamer and trophy hunter, but I'm learning what works and what doesn't as far as what content to put out. we learn more and more every day and the best thing to do is use what you learn and use it to be better. I'm definitely learning to swear less not only for stream, but for myself. It also teaches you how to deal with nasty personalities.
Awesome video. I've been keeping updated with your content and trying different things. Still struggling but I think my main issue is my focus is too intense on stuff and I struggle to bring comedic energy to things when I just want to hyper focus and get immersed into gaming. I have my loyal viewers as a small streamer but they are only there for either supporting me or because they genuinely enjoy knowing its me playing the game for them whether I am overly energetic or not.
My biggest mistake is worrying about what youtube content to do rather than doing it. I spend too much time planning and procrastinating! I think because the time investment compared to making a short is so much longer I get anxious and revert to short form even though I know midform is the most important 🤣 Getting into a better schedule now but that is my main goal... just do it! I love these video's!! You are the one who made me go over the edge to start streaming. Got to affiliate in a week with the community I've build. Even though I'm getting 10 viewers a stream but slowly it's working it's way up to returning viewers and getting a connection with my returning viewers. I don't really care to much how many people are watching me play games, but those that are there are having fun with me and I never have known how fun it is to play and interact while I'm streaming with the people I have right now. I like to THANK you for that!! You made me make this awesome step.❤
My biggest mistake was trying to stream all day or multiple times per day. I've got a family and it was frustrating to keep having to pull away from streaming to go handle responsibilities. I became a night streamer because the home is quiet and I can stream for hours without having to go do other tasks.
Great content …. Always watching to improve…. Trying to be self aware and bring the best content …. It’s tough and a huge learning curve to be aware of yourself ..
I’ve been streaming for over a year and I haven’t given up on streaming. Even though my stream rarely has viewers probably because I don’t have a camera I don’t have no plans to give up at all because I enjoy playing games and have fun with what I do 😁
To the second point: If I feel down or have less energy to stream I drink a coffee at the start of the stream. I rarely drink caffeine so the coffee really helps to be on point for the first 2-4 hours
The one thing I've come to grips on at least for the near future is I do kind of split off for variety a bit more than I should. I enjoy streaming retro games along with Dead by Daylight. I can't help it, it's what I enjoy so I'm going to just continue doing that and think of fun enjoyable ways to give people value that they will want to tune into my streams and say hi.
I'm actually doing pretty well avoiding those mistakes. my stream is finally getting somewhere just working on getting better equipment. i did one stream because it was scheduled but I had no energy and was yawning so much. so I learned that one the hard way. and shocking it's one of my higher view rate, idk why. something I wanted your opinion on was accessories and how helpful they can be to get noticed. on YT i recently got neko ears on my head set and my sub count and views jumped up. Is it really just because of the ears or am i thinking too much?
it for real is a struggle out here, been trying for awhile, i got stuff on youtube and mainly hitting twitch but it seems to be difficult to even get anyone in, in the begin with. doing another crab treasure speedruns currently and damn gettings goin is difficult i just have a good time by myself enjoyong the game 😂
I've been doing content creation for 2 years ....its a slow climb but its also a gamble... some people get lucky but most dont... be consistent, have a plan, a goal, have fun with what ya do and what your passionate about... oh I notice people like watching your silly side

So I got a question. As a small streamer myself I tend to do playthoughs on games (at the moment its persona 5 royal) for 2 of my streaming days and the 3rd one is a chat/discord chosen game. So would that be considered variety since every Thursday is different? Or is it consistent that every Thursday is something different. Also when I finish a playthough is it considered variety/ hurting me to start another playthough on a different game?
So for me I started it with speedruns for Majoras mask 100% and I noticed it is my highest viewership. Bc I had been wanting to get back to competitive smash but it is a bit lower but now that I’m doing both super consistently it is having my viewership around the same now. I do like to stream on my days off from work that way I am “energetic” I do have terrible anxiety so it is hard for me but I’ve been improving. But I do hope I could grow more because I’ve been loving to stream and enjoying it

About the variety thing, I have a plan to go through the entire KH saga, which I'm about halfway through rn, then to just go off to play other games that also have long-ish series, like the Witcher. I'm barely at the affiliate level (struggling to maintain 3 average viewers but I'm at around 2.7 most of the time), and if I stay at that level by the end of playing all Kingdom Hearts games, what should I do then?
Consistency is pretty eh, I've known people who have streamed for 1 to 3 viewers in the start and in the 4-5 years I've known them, never seen any extra viewers, you still need an hint of creativity
I’ve been streaming for a few months now, I started off doing them so that way I could have my brother be able to watch me game and I’ve just found this channel as I’ve been wanting to try to use streaming to meet new people. I’ve started to implement the things I’ve learned on the channel and been finding more passion for streaming! So far growth is slow and steady and I’m glad for that! Only about 30 followers but I hope to continue to keep streaming games I enjoy and treating this like a marathon rather than a sprint. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your ideas and guidance that you provide others to help their own journey through streaming!
My biggest problem is that I get tons of viewers and I cannot get them to chat and it's causing issues with twitch. I do extremely well with Evil Dead the Game, one of the top players. That gains thousands of watch hours but zero chat.
The biggest struggle for me is getting more people to watch my stream. It isn't bothering me but I am never on the top rows of the category of game I'm playing in
I've been trying to stream with an XR1 Lite from my Ps5, a Logitech c922pro web cam, and a Yeti USB mic, but my stream's Master Volume is too low no matter what slider I adjust, is there something I'm missing in my settings? I don't want my audience to have to go full volume just to hear my content.
Love this video! on youtube, been uploading for years, a variety of games and different types of editing, zero growth. then since October, I doubled down on uploads, and made it purely Danganronpa, and I went from 20 subs to 230 subs. I also mixed in God of War, and they do not perform. So yeah, definitely agree with 5:23 with consistency over creativity.
About the variety content thing - I'm on the fence about this. I played a game for a while, and I eventually got burnt out playing it. Swapped games and all my viewers were gone. For me personally, I'm currently messing around with a rotational schedule - each weekday has a specific game, and that doesn't change. This way I avoid burnout whilst still being consistent. oh and yes, one year later of hiatus, I'm still burnt out from that game. Burnout sucks. Don't overplay a game, don't overdo it.
how do I know when im plateuing, or declining in viewership. I started in February and am about 30-40 avg. viewers, and i wonder if this is just the beginning or if this is the peak of my twitch career. which :I'm completely grateful for, but always have that fear and wonder in the back of my mind. Is there any signs or certain analytics to look for?

I need to do a much better job at networking with MORE creators, and creating more TH-cam videos. Streaming, at this point, is easy. I love chatting with my community (average 5-10 people), but I haven't been growing in months. And that is due to the two things I need to be doing more of... networking, and videos. Networking is hard though - it's hard to find people to work with (I have a few I work with, and, I have to say, 50%+ of my audience comes from the creators I've worked with... but it has been hard to find more people)
so ive just started streaming i have the usual average of one viewer who stays for like max 30 minutes its fine with me since i want to grow in a way of not being too big i want to focus on interacting with the viewers rather than the game also other question i have is that how many hours of streaming would it take to get like lets say 10 active viewers every stream
I have watched probably 75% of your video's. I am wondering what value this gives me as a 20 average viewer. I do like that you put out videos. How big are the person's in the video and what do they stream and where? I have not even a single idea where you are streaming today? Are you even streaming yourself? How is your growth if you moved to TH-cam? Maybe mention this in the stream to promote yourself I would click it. :-)
Every single one of these people is a partner and averaged over 100+, they all have done this full time as solely streamers. They stream on twitch, I stream on TH-cam but focus video content and stream roughly once a week only leaving the streams up that make good content for viewers to watch not lived. TH-cam has had over 1.5 million short views, and my recent long video received 185,000 views. I don’t promote myself because I don’t want people not actually interested in my content clicking over and ruining my retention rate. All of this has been covered in other videos :)
Whenever I stream I get 2 viewers sometimes 3 but the next day my VOD shows 27 views. Does that mean people are watching it after? I'm still new to it and dont know what this means

on my last stream my friend invited me to call with him and i said sure but he then invited another person who he was playing with and they got mad that i kept talking about my game causei was streaming and my our other friend(the person he invited) just told me "why are you streaming if you have 2 viewers" there we had an argument and i js continued my stream
I would stream a specific game only and my goodness I got burnt out so fast. I stopped having fun playing the game. It was my favorite game and I couldn’t even play it. I would get to the point where I had negative feelings at even the thought of the game or starting the stream. I was growing at a pretty awesome rate for a new streamer. I have under 500 followers but I was getting 10+ followers a stream and people were following while I was offline. I was getting 50+ unique chatters it was crazy. My average viewers was around 17. I just couldn’t keep going. I am currently on a break from that specific game and get about 3 average viewers. Kind of heart breaking to see and I get it but I haven’t changed but my game has. I’ve even jumped back to that game a couple streams and my average views are around 5 now. Consistently uploading a game you’re growing with is important. I just can’t for my own sanity 😂.
if im honest, i have the same problem as you. I also have a pretty decent knowledge of how things should be done to work. particulary because of your and other videos, guides, even online classes for marketing. i have all the theoretical knowledge at my hand. But something is holding me back. Sometimes i feel like im not beeing honest or "real" if i use this knowledge because i am like "yeah im only doing this and that because it gets more attention and others gonna know that". dont get me wrong, i want the attention, i like that, but i also dont want other people to know that i want the attention. does that make sense ?
Pretty sure I make most of these mistakes, I only get 0-1 viewers. I am still having a fun time though. I am so used to being alone, most of my life it has just been me. So when even 1 person pops in to say Hi, it makes my day :)
Been streaming for so YEARS and still only get barely 2 viewers. However, I keep going, for just those 2 viewers. I know one day I will most likely walk away but it is not anytime soon.
Ive streamed to no one maybe 1-2 people for 8 hours a day for the past. oh ... 5 years? like all most *every fucking night* Something like that. Uhm yeah variety content is playing youtube/twitch on hardmode, but im me and I want to play what I want to play. so Im going to play it, and its shitty that no one cares, but its what I want to do..? Saxophone playing, super metroid speedruns, Rom hacks, reactions to youtube channels. I dunno Analog Horror stuff. I have have a fun time but im gonna keep on keeping on. Shit this sounds like im bitter im not. Supposed to be a funny post but it did not come out like that. Hey im an astrophysicist. My focus was on exoplanets, and I taught musical acoustics and I think im a pretty well rounded dude? Anyway, im just here. lol.
Here is something a lot of people in general and not just streamers need to work on. STOP SAYING LIKE EVERY 4 SECONDS. its like, so annoying cause you like, sound 12. Put a sentence together far out
I make them to help myself learn where I’ve gone wrong, and pass it on so others can learn from my mistakes. I would never make a guide on reaching thousands of average viewers, but I can comfortable cover TH-cam and how to grow a stream to 200 average roughly.
Terrible take, all of these Streamers are in the top 0.1% of twitch. Just because they aren't Ludwig size doesn't mean they can't offer actionable advice? He is also one of the only Stream and YT advice channels that actually creates his own content as well. You definitely don't speak for the 99% of us that benefit from this!
Twitch isn't helping me and I don't know what to do i stream on xbox and somehow I broke party chat so I have party chat on and my stream can't here anyone else and that is a key part of my stream my username is rj_thebeastreal1 on twitch

Im so glad to say that ive been way more consistent AND ive been focusing on one game way more frequently and I have seen growth since.

This was the first video I saw from you. I loved it, it was interesting enough to keep watching and watching. It’s such a nice validation of gamers thinking that Twitch or YT is “easy”. There are sooo many skills to learn and exp to gain. Congrats to everyone who already got recognized!

As someone who is a small time stream that started about 2 months ago. I can agree with everything here.
I have seen the growth happen slowly, but offstream I would look at the views and feel like I was not doing great (My big mistake was looking at view count when raiding a friend or something and thinking "Oh god, this is such a pitiful number").
But I turned that mindset around because even with the smaller count, there are people watching me. In the beginning it was hard for me to network because I felt like I was intruding. I slowly realised that all the creators that I am friends with are in the same boat as me. I reached out to a fellow creator to talk about it, and they were awesome in helping me see some mistakes I was doing early on.

Growth for me on twitch and youtube has been very slow in 2022. I also see no connection between the two audiences. I have links going to the other platform, but nobody seems to be going. The only way I can find to grow on twitch is to stream as much as possible, and make friends with streamers who stream similar games, and raid between each other, participate in streamer events, etc.
No I would say you are wrong in that, you should take a step and promote also not to Facebook and Twitter or Instagram, to other platforms like Pinterest you get me?
I promise this video (and the last few videos actually) have fit perfectly into what I'm dealing with personally with trying to get back into streaming again. A lot of these mistakes rang true with me, especially yours when it comes to work ethic. I know exactly what I need to be doing and how to do it, etc.....just having issues hitting that "Start Streaming" button in OBS. I thank you so much for these videos, as they have been a big help in me getting focused on bouncing back as a smaller content creator as the new year approaches. Happy Holidays! 💖💖
Back watching you again. I followed majority of your tips. I only posted on Snapchat, Facebook and texted friends when I went live. I got to around 10avg viewers in the first month or two. Once week I was hitting like 15 avg viewers and then my brother visited for two weeks and…. I took time off and the stream hasn’t been the same since. I’m excited to use what works and actually post on other platforms. This videos genuinely help out man.

I have only recently decided to start streaming, yet to go live though. I’m curious about the variety streaming. Are you considered a variety streamer if you are playing games from a single genre? Say you are playing something like an rpg, finish it, move on to another? Or would it be better to just play 1 game, for growth purposes?
This was really interesting. I myself have recently realize that i have not been honest with myself about my work ethic and over the last few months have really tried to push myself to live up to what standard i have set for myself. And honestly i am a lot happier now that i have started working to a routine.
Video definitely helped, my problem is staying funny and staying motivated while live with the energy, I'm good at games and stuff but this is what I gotta work on
After around a year of not following any of these steps because I was too lazy, I finally started actually trying and my stream has been growing so fast, I went from 1 avg to 5-7 avg in a month.
I did have some luck that a streamer who I edit for likes to raid after their stream, but not all of it is luck, what made that raid stick around are these tips, these pointers of entertainment. Being a 1 viewer andy is hard because you have no one to bounce off of in chat, but learning how to bounce off urself is what's going to let you grow. So thank you so much for all ur words of wisdom, I'm finally achieving what I've been going at for like a year and a half

I'm happy for the few viewers that stop by my stream. I enjoy video games and having at least one person to talk to about them makes my day. I'm low energy and welcome lurkers too lol.
I take more breaks and do not stream if I’m not feeling it. It’s made a big difference with my attitude on stream and my viewers appreciate it.
I can relate to 8bitelliott on the raging on stream part. When I first started streaming, I was playin nothing but smash bros and I would get very tilted easily and what made me realize that. Was by putting myself into the viewers shoes and watching other smash streamers. and some would rage quite a bit and I did feel nervous and awkward after that, That’s when I made that change by just laughing at all my mess ups and it’s made me have more fun on stream by not taking myself too seriously anymore. I think a lot of people take themselves too seriously and can never laugh at themselves and what not. And that can only get you so far in streaming. So moral of the story is just Have fun and stay humble!

I appreciate you and all your videos man. I'm slowly building everything piece by piece. One video after another. I am huge gamer and trophy hunter, but I'm learning what works and what doesn't as far as what content to put out. we learn more and more every day and the best thing to do is use what you learn and use it to be better. I'm definitely learning to swear less not only for stream, but for myself. It also teaches you how to deal with nasty personalities.
Awesome video. I've been keeping updated with your content and trying different things. Still struggling but I think my main issue is my focus is too intense on stuff and I struggle to bring comedic energy to things when I just want to hyper focus and get immersed into gaming. I have my loyal viewers as a small streamer but they are only there for either supporting me or because they genuinely enjoy knowing its me playing the game for them whether I am overly energetic or not.
My biggest mistake is worrying about what youtube content to do rather than doing it. I spend too much time planning and procrastinating! I think because the time investment compared to making a short is so much longer I get anxious and revert to short form even though I know midform is the most important 🤣 Getting into a better schedule now but that is my main goal... just do it!

I love these video's!! You are the one who made me go over the edge to start streaming. Got to affiliate in a week with the community I've build. Even though I'm getting 10 viewers a stream but slowly it's working it's way up to returning viewers and getting a connection with my returning viewers. I don't really care to much how many people are watching me play games, but those that are there are having fun with me and I never have known how fun it is to play and interact while I'm streaming with the people I have right now. I like to THANK you for that!! You made me make this awesome step.❤
My biggest mistake was trying to stream all day or multiple times per day. I've got a family and it was frustrating to keep having to pull away from streaming to go handle responsibilities. I became a night streamer because the home is quiet and I can stream for hours without having to go do other tasks.

I’ve been streaming for over a year and I haven’t given up on streaming. Even though my stream rarely has viewers probably because I don’t have a camera I don’t have no plans to give up at all because I enjoy playing games and have fun with what I do 😁

To the second point: If I feel down or have less energy to stream I drink a coffee at the start of the stream. I rarely drink caffeine so the coffee really helps to be on point for the first 2-4 hours
Why do you feel down at first?
The one thing I've come to grips on at least for the near future is I do kind of split off for variety a bit more than I should. I enjoy streaming retro games along with Dead by Daylight. I can't help it, it's what I enjoy so I'm going to just continue doing that and think of fun enjoyable ways to give people value that they will want to tune into my streams and say hi.
I'm actually doing pretty well avoiding those mistakes. my stream is finally getting somewhere just working on getting better equipment. i did one stream because it was scheduled but I had no energy and was yawning so much. so I learned that one the hard way. and shocking it's one of my higher view rate, idk why.
something I wanted your opinion on was accessories and how helpful they can be to get noticed. on YT i recently got neko ears on my head set and my sub count and views jumped up. Is it really just because of the ears or am i thinking too much?

So I got a question. As a small streamer myself I tend to do playthoughs on games (at the moment its persona 5 royal) for 2 of my streaming days and the 3rd one is a chat/discord chosen game. So would that be considered variety since every Thursday is different? Or is it consistent that every Thursday is something different. Also when I finish a playthough is it considered variety/ hurting me to start another playthough on a different game?

So for me I started it with speedruns for Majoras mask 100% and I noticed it is my highest viewership. Bc I had been wanting to get back to competitive smash but it is a bit lower but now that I’m doing both super consistently it is having my viewership around the same now. I do like to stream on my days off from work that way I am “energetic” I do have terrible anxiety so it is hard for me but I’ve been improving. But I do hope I could grow more because I’ve been loving to stream and enjoying it

About the variety thing, I have a plan to go through the entire KH saga, which I'm about halfway through rn, then to just go off to play other games that also have long-ish series, like the Witcher. I'm barely at the affiliate level (struggling to maintain 3 average viewers but I'm at around 2.7 most of the time), and if I stay at that level by the end of playing all Kingdom Hearts games, what should I do then?
Consistency is pretty eh, I've known people who have streamed for 1 to 3 viewers in the start and in the 4-5 years I've known them, never seen any extra viewers, you still need an hint of creativity

I’ve been streaming for a few months now, I started off doing them so that way I could have my brother be able to watch me game and I’ve just found this channel as I’ve been wanting to try to use streaming to meet new people. I’ve started to implement the things I’ve learned on the channel and been finding more passion for streaming! So far growth is slow and steady and I’m glad for that! Only about 30 followers but I hope to continue to keep streaming games I enjoy and treating this like a marathon rather than a sprint. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your ideas and guidance that you provide others to help their own journey through streaming!
My biggest problem is that I get tons of viewers and I cannot get them to chat and it's causing issues with twitch. I do extremely well with Evil Dead the Game, one of the top players. That gains thousands of watch hours but zero chat.
What font did you use in the beginning of the video?
The biggest struggle for me is getting more people to watch my stream. It isn't bothering me but I am never on the top rows of the category of game I'm playing in

I've been trying to stream with an XR1 Lite from my Ps5, a Logitech c922pro web cam, and a Yeti USB mic, but my stream's Master Volume is too low no matter what slider I adjust, is there something I'm missing in my settings? I don't want my audience to have to go full volume just to hear my content.
Love this video! on youtube, been uploading for years, a variety of games and different types of editing, zero growth. then since October, I doubled down on uploads, and made it purely Danganronpa, and I went from 20 subs to 230 subs. I also mixed in God of War, and they do not perform. So yeah, definitely agree with 5:23 with consistency over creativity.
About the variety content thing - I'm on the fence about this. I played a game for a while, and I eventually got burnt out playing it. Swapped games and all my viewers were gone. For me personally, I'm currently messing around with a rotational schedule - each weekday has a specific game, and that doesn't change. This way I avoid burnout whilst still being consistent.
oh and yes, one year later of hiatus, I'm still burnt out from that game. Burnout sucks. Don't overplay a game, don't overdo it.
how do I know when im plateuing, or declining in viewership. I started in February and am about 30-40 avg. viewers, and i wonder if this is just the beginning or if this is the peak of my twitch career. which :I'm completely grateful for, but always have that fear and wonder in the back of my mind. Is there any signs or certain analytics to look for?
Can someone help me out with a technical problem if possible? I wanna know if it were possible to hear my stream without hearing my voice? Like I want my viewers to hear my voice, but I dont. I just wanna be able to hear sound alerts and such
All being said, don’t be afraid to try a bunch of things when starting out.
I need to do a much better job at networking with MORE creators, and creating more TH-cam videos. Streaming, at this point, is easy. I love chatting with my community (average 5-10 people), but I haven't been growing in months. And that is due to the two things I need to be doing more of... networking, and videos. Networking is hard though - it's hard to find people to work with (I have a few I work with, and, I have to say, 50%+ of my audience comes from the creators I've worked with... but it has been hard to find more people)

I have watched probably 75% of your video's. I am wondering what value this gives me as a 20 average viewer. I do like that you put out videos. How big are the person's in the video and what do they stream and where? I have not even a single idea where you are streaming today? Are you even streaming yourself? How is your growth if you moved to TH-cam? Maybe mention this in the stream to promote yourself I would click it. :-)
Every single one of these people is a partner and averaged over 100+, they all have done this full time as solely streamers.
They stream on twitch, I stream on TH-cam but focus video content and stream roughly once a week only leaving the streams up that make good content for viewers to watch not lived.
TH-cam has had over 1.5 million short views, and my recent long video received 185,000 views.
I don’t promote myself because I don’t want people not actually interested in my content clicking over and ruining my retention rate.

Whenever I stream I get 2 viewers sometimes 3 but the next day my VOD shows 27 views. Does that mean people are watching it after? I'm still new to it and dont know what this means
Twitch counts as "views" to the VOD every single click your (live) stream received. Almost nobody watches VODs on Twitch.

on my last stream my friend invited me to call with him and i said sure but he then invited another person who he was playing with and they got mad that i kept talking about my game causei was streaming and my our other friend(the person he invited) just told me "why are you streaming if you have 2 viewers" there we had an argument and i js continued my stream

I would stream a specific game only and my goodness I got burnt out so fast. I stopped having fun playing the game. It was my favorite game and I couldn’t even play it. I would get to the point where I had negative feelings at even the thought of the game or starting the stream. I was growing at a pretty awesome rate for a new streamer. I have under 500 followers but I was getting 10+ followers a stream and people were following while I was offline. I was getting 50+ unique chatters it was crazy. My average viewers was around 17. I just couldn’t keep going. I am currently on a break from that specific game and get about 3 average viewers. Kind of heart breaking to see and I get it but I haven’t changed but my game has. I’ve even jumped back to that game a couple streams and my average views are around 5 now. Consistently uploading a game you’re growing with is important. I just can’t for my own sanity 😂.
if im honest, i have the same problem as you. I also have a pretty decent knowledge of how things should be done to work. particulary because of your and other videos, guides, even online classes for marketing. i have all the theoretical knowledge at my hand. But something is holding me back.

Been streaming for so YEARS and still only get barely 2 viewers. However, I keep going, for just those 2 viewers. I know one day I will most likely walk away but it is not anytime soon.

I make them to help myself learn where I’ve gone wrong, and pass it on so others can learn from my mistakes.
I would never make a guide on reaching thousands of average viewers, but I can comfortable cover TH-cam and how to grow a stream to 200 average roughly.
Terrible take, all of these Streamers are in the top 0.1% of twitch. Just because they aren't Ludwig size doesn't mean they can't offer actionable advice? He is also one of the only Stream and YT advice channels that actually creates his own content as well.
You definitely don't speak for the 99% of us that benefit from this!
