    Another great video! Thanks mate. Freud and his approach especially his psychosexual stages of personality development is one of my most favourite and interesting psychological perspective. His theory gives you a deep insight of human behaviour and personality. Although Freud should've asked himself this question when hypothesised his theory that what would be the role of cultural differences, socialisation and environment in the functions of each of the personality structures id, ego and super ego. Would bringing someone in an immoral and irreligious situation have any impact on the functions performed by the super ego or it inherits its traits naturally however that would be another argumentative subject.
    Anyway, thanks for your all hard works to make these brilliant videos

      Thanks again Jalal for the comment ☺️ particularly the added analysis of Freud in terms of culture - and he’s obviously be critiqued by the issues of his time (especially in relation to women). Also, you may find the work of Blackburn on the inadequate superego in relation to criminal behaviour of interest.

    hello,what are the sources of psychopathology according to psychodynamic theory by Sigmund Freud?

    • @BearitinMIND
      @BearitinMIND  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello :) Good question. In brief the Psychodynamic approach might suggest the following for a range of psychopathologies:
      a) unconscious conflicts within the personality between the id/ego/superego (maybe one is more dominant than the other - see the structure of personality in the video)
      b) defence mechanisms that are coping with past trauma or conflict (such as displacement, regression, denial)
      c) fixation at one of the psychosexual stages of development (see this part of the video for examples)
      Hope that helps :)

  • @Fatemainnit
    @Fatemainnit ปีที่แล้ว +2

    question: you know the quotes that you put in by freud, would including them in an essay count as extra marks in our a level exam?

    • @BearitinMIND
      @BearitinMIND  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question - the answer is it depends. One of the big challenges with any A-level essay is how little time you have to write. This means you need to prioritise picking up the marks as quickly as possible and so not writing anything that is a waste of time.
      So to answer your question if a quote helps you to describe one of the main features/assumptions/ideas of Freud then yes, do include it. It could enable you to show a more specific level of knowledge in your description (AO1) than just some general information - this enables to score higher. However just because it is a quote doesn't mean it will score you higher in and of itself because your essays are marked as a whole.
      Hope that makes sense and helps? :)

    Heyy I don’t know if u will see this in time for the exam tomorrow but if we get a 16 marker on comparison of approaches and the A01 is the psychodynamic approach would we have to talk about the oedipus complex as part of the A01?
    Thank youuu ur vids are incred

    • @BearitinMIND
      @BearitinMIND  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good question Sofia. If the comparison question says something like "Outline the Psychodynamic approach. Compare with ..." that means there are 6 marks available for describing the Psychodynamic approach - there are a lot of parts to the psychodynamic approach - so you don't need to write about all of them to get 6 marks. You could write about 1) the role of the unconscious, 2) the structure of personality 3) defence mechanisms (and so not write about the psychosexual stages of development at all and potentially gain 6 marks if your description is detailed, accurate and uses key terminology).
      Hope that helps!

      I know ...I guess Freud didn't think it was possible that boy could envy a female's uterus.
      Like....who in the world would want a vagina? Obviously women secretly want penises!
      If I woke up tomorrow with a dick instead of a vagina, I think I would cry until I drowned in my tears. I'm not a lesbian, but vaginas are far more aesthetic to me and maybe Freud was jealous and a little scared of female sexuality, orgasms, and reproductive ability.
      I think the fact that he was born from a woman instead of a man subconsciously pissed him off. Subconsciously, of course.
