    Foot drop sucks, but there are some foot drop exercises can help. In this video, we show you some examples drop foot exercises for treating your floppy foot, whether it stems from a peroneal nerve injury or some other cause.
    When you’re not able to lift the front of the foot normally, the muscles, tendons, etc. of the calf, ankle and foot will lose strength and flexibility, making the problem worse and limiting your recovery chances.
    For that reason, performing drop foot exercises that stretch and strengthen the foot and ankle on a regular basis is really important. This can help with mobility and balance, improve or maintain dorsiflexion, and ease foot pain.
    Working the foot can also strengthen the mind-body connection, which is so important when the nerves of the leg and foot are not firing as they should.

    I have MS (rx'd almost 10 years ago), starting on Copaxone, changed to Tecfidera (which gave me my balance back!) but merely a month later, I got "Drop Foot" on my right side. Almost a year later, I still have it and can barely walk to the mailbox here in my apartment complex and back, without using my left hand to hold my walker and having to LITERALLY reach under my right knee and pick up my right leg for the next step (on the way back). I'm about to fashion a handle of some sorts to my clothes on my right leg, to DO this without having to bend over and look like an idiot. Smh.
    But to add insult to injury, I was an elite gymnast growing up, BORN with innate balance (balance beam was my BEST event! Doing a full twisting back flip, on the beam was my last "trick" mastered. Yes, I was that good 😔. Back then, sigh. But I spent 3yrs at Bela Karolyi's gym in Houston, TX-with hopes for the '88 Olympics, until I was badly injured and had to retire from the sport for good when I was 15yo.
    So, knowing quite well how to do these exercises and being completely unable to afford Physical Therapy, I'm taking it into my own hands and am going to try my best to do PT at home. Not being able to walk far without falling or tripping, is ridic. And I'm tired. Alone and on my own since I was fired from my 5yr, $50K/yr job-30 mins before I left for my Dr's appt to GET my final diagnosis of MS almost 10yrs ago,-I've survived a decade from hell and at THIS point? I am willing to try ANYthing.

    Hi there,
    5months+ ago, I fell from the rooftop of my 2-storey house and fractured both my ankles..although I feel that I have recovered alot just through a masseur and without any surgery except for an x-ray and medication. I started walking again around 2-3months prior the incident but not properly. However, I still feel different kinds of pain on both my legs when I walk and one of the major pain I feel seems like this foot drop. Please advise :( would really appreciate your response 🙏

    Hello I am from Cambodia, I do enjoy your video. However, my right ankle is terible painful especially when I sit on the chair and bend my foot forward. but if I lift it back all the way up, it will not hurt. what do think i have the problem and is there a way to help by doing stretchy? thx

      Hi! These aren't specifically for plantar fasciitis but any kind of stretching in your foot arch area will help with the pain from plantar fasciitis.

    Omg not sure how this happened other than ankle roll then pulled sane side hamstring then stood 12 hours a day for months shifting to the right not using it! Omg been watching videos for months all want heel raise which only helps out on both basically rides along! I can point and flex not near the other side and my foot slaps a little when walking causing me to freak

    Well due to ischemic stroke my left foot do not move at all & its so stiff that I cant even move it in dorsiflexion posture with the help of other foot. & the fingures doesnot move at all. Even cant able to lift the leg like you shown to lift the tennis ball

      Saurav Misra I have peripheral neuropathy (basically my leg is paralyzed) I bought a TENS unit and it helps with the pain and helps stimulate your nerves/muscles. It’s worth looking up. I hope it helps

      Hi Daniel, you could do modified, simpler versions. For instance, instead of picking up marbles flex your toes and then work your way to the marbles.

      Hi there, you should not feel immense pain. But a if you are using these to stretch the muscles in your feet or ankles you may feet some discomfort from the muscles stretching out.

      Hello! Do these exercises once a day to start and as you feel more strength in your ankles you can work up to more times a day or multiple rounds of the stretches in a row.

      Hi Tulsidas, while you won't be able to actually lift your foot, you will use the muscles in your calves.
